Its been a good few years since ive been in the Black Cats Bar. I'm taking some extended family to their first match in a couple of weeks and wondered if people think it's worth the upgrade?
Sunderland looked to bounce back from a surprise defeat to Plymouth and played host to an upbeat Middlesbrough, but Regis Le Bris was too canny for Carrick, so find out what that silly start was all about, how Carrick failed his homework and just how Le Bris controlled the game to nullify Boro's style of play and run out the winner. Enjoy.
The Mephan all the touches video will be out tonight or first thing in the morning. Then it will appear linked at the end of this vid, but I'll post it here too if allowed.
Currently on a train to London, just to the north of Peterborough station at the GBRf sidings is a large milepost by the tracks.
“Stadium of Light <- -> Wembley”
“Ha’way the Lads!”
I am trying to buy tickets for the sunderland vs newcastle lasses game and the ticets I selected have a restriction that says 'school/grassroots' does this have any affect on buying them for two adults?
Any suggestions with reasons would be great. Thanks!
Hi all! I want to buy tickets for my Sunderland supporting friend for the upcoming Derby County game, and am wondering what the best view/atmosphere would be. We are both Americans in our late 20s, no kids, don't want to be a nuisance as tourists. Maybe the furthest back in the lower South Stand? Or somewhere in the corners?
Definitely a popular one so a bit of a long shot but if anyone has spares going for Watford, there’s a few of us after one, up to 4 (I know). Cheers in advance!
The dreaded Manager of the month curse has hit us but I still believe!
“Hello lads, hello Gary, let’s get carried away man!” roars Davey, a Sunderland fan who has just called Radio Newcastle’s phone-in and is speaking to Gary Bennett, the former Sunderland and Cardiff City centre half.
“This is fantastic!” he continues. “It’s what life is all about. If you can’t get carried away at times like this, we might as well give up. It’s absolutely superb!”
It is tea time on the final Saturday in August. Sunderland have just beaten Portsmouth 3-1 and in doing so have won their first four league games at the start of a season for the first time in more than a hundred years. They are top of the Sky Bet Championship.
The team that defeated Portsmouth have still not conceded a goal from an opposition player — Portsmouth’s goal at Fratton Park was scored by the Sunderland defender Luke O’Nien, who has played more than 250 times for the club since he first appeared, fresh faced, in the Netflix series Sunderland ’Til I Die and saved a dog having a heart attack on Seaburn Beach this time last year.
The side that beat Portsmouth cost a combined £6.4million and had an average age of 23. The goalkeeper Anthony Patterson, 24, and midfielder Chris Rigg, 17, came through the club’s academy.

I keep seeing all sorts of hype about Jobe, I was curious about how real the hype was so thought i would ask the fans of the team he plays at. What are your guys opinion of Jobe?
Apologies if this is the wrong place for this but I'm looking for the best place to ask about getting some tickets for the Plymouth game? I haven't seen the lads in person for 15 years and it's just down the road from me. My 8 year old who has shown no interest in football is all of a sudden mad keen, would love to make it happen! TIA
I signed up with P+ a few weeks ago, at the start they looked like they were showing almost all Championship games.
Sunderland wasn't featured last time, but I was expecting the Plymouth game to be show. It doesn't look like it is. There are a bunch of games even from L1, but Championship games only a handful. Am I missing something, or looking at the wrong schedule or something?
Just finished season 3, and was wondering if anyone knows who's doing the interview with Neil on the pitch in last episode. He looks familiar but I can't figure out how to find out who it is!
Thanks!
No Sunderland this weekend? No problem. Check out this breakdown on just why Patrick Roberts was crucial to beating Portsmouth and just how we effective we were at stifling their chances. Enjoy.
