What in-game Warcraft 3 unit would you rather roleplay as?

jennyhookie
commented

I’d be a shade, able to go anywhere with the simple role of “scout this” and “go look at that thing”.

My DK masters would never think of death pacting me either since I’m so weak

Hero abilities in a zombie apocalypse

jennyhookie
commented

Paladin.

Holy Light - useless, don’t bother

Divine Shield - laugh at zombies while strolling through the streets

Devotion Aura - useless, don’t bother

Resurrection - when you eventually run out of food and have to cannibalize your friends just to survive, you can resurrect them to eventually eat them again. Infinite food hack + divine shield prevents them from revenge killing you

Every other hero eventually starves to death or dies fighting zombies

Man, I loved this mission. Its like a "game of tag" as we and Maiev both fight over Illidan.

If I remember correctly you can get as many as your gold will allow, makes Kael a very happy blood mage in the next mission

This mission is a great opportunity to stack Sobi Masks from the merchants for some crazy regen, both shops sell it. It’s also really cool that you get an extra hero (Brewmaster) if you play the Secret Mission after dungeons of dalaran. Idk if you have to beat it to be eligible to get the hero though.

It kind of feels like an intermission level though since it’s really easy to beat, but it’s a cool concept and a lot of fun.

Help with wc3 hard campaign

jennyhookie
commented

The Quel’thalas missions are pretty rough, especially at the beginning where you’re trying to stabilize.

I’m guessing you’re on the Key of Three Moons part now, which is pretty brutal. Spirit towers will help a lot, but I would prioritize massing necromancers with a few fiends to deal with the dragon hawks, and meat wagons with the corpse upgrade. It worked pretty well for me but I still used a good chunk of economy to mass towers moving towards the waygates.

I went with a full out assault where I’d defend with my lumber gathering ghouls and acolytes repairing towers. It gets easier the more bases you take out.

Is it worth to purchace Reforged even if I have an original copy from the 2000s?

jennyhookie
commented

End of the day it’s still WC3, but imo I’d only purchase it during a sale.

I play it 1.31 mainly and only really play reforged to play with friends, play customs, or play some top content like Re-Reforged.

It’s honestly sad that the remaster for this game was so bad that 5 years later people are asking if it’s even worth buying lmfao

I find it funny that even though Archimonde was meant to be "literally undefeatable" in the final part of the game in Reign of Chaos.

jennyhookie
commented

If I recall, there was a video where someone used goblin land mines to immediately cripple the undead base either early in the mission or when the secondary base was built which would allow a much easier time pooling units and resources to kill Archimonde.

You’d definitely want to use the furbolgs and keep them alive with rejuvenate as Archimonde has a lot of splash damage and will push back hard with his summon spells.

Personally I was never able to break the undead base, Rage and Azgalor alone do so much aoe they may as well be the whole undead army

What does your Pokémon team look like according to this?

jennyhookie

Charmander (yes I absolutely suffered again the first 2 gyms) — Gastly (I think, I lost most of the old holo collection I had) — Machamp — Crabominable — Rattata (literally the only shiny I have ever found) — Houndoom (dawg).

Just like how I made it through S/M, Machamp would be used to power through the game while the other mons are Revive fodder.

When Arthas during the final mission of the human campaign in Reign Of Chaos finally...

jennyhookie
commented

Probably the only campaign mission where you can just run in and solo an entire base with one unit lol, divine shield and chaos damage is just utterly broken. The only dangerous part is if it runs out and there’s frost wyrms nearby but by then you’ll have already destroyed an important building

Favorite campaign mission in the game?

Yeah, Hunter of Shadows is great, but the initial attack on your base after Cenarius wrecks house can really fuck you up. Respawning wolf den always takes out one of my catapults too.

Twilight of the Gods is a truly cinematic finale, you’re on your toes the entire time and you’re up against the toughest units RoC can offer. When I realized they give you 3 uncontested gold mines I knew surviving the timer was going to be brutal.

Fall of Silvermoon - I spammed Archmages lmao

Definitely agree, Tomb of Sargeras is an amazing dungeon crawler. I always wanted to stick around and see all the fighting during the escape portion.

Hate dealing with the Royal Guards though. NE campaign alone is great for all the secrets they hid with Blink.

Favorite campaign mission in the game?

jennyhookie
replied to Final_Hymn

All great picks. Honestly I felt RoC undead had so many great missions as they were all incredibly impactful lorewise and I just love playing as the bad guys.

Twilight of the Gods is definitely a favorite of mine despite how brutal the difficulty is. Majority of my time spent is holding off the undead with Thrall since Jaina folds super fast, she honestly feels stronger in By Demons Be Driven.

Where Wyverns Dare is also rough due to the orcs having no early healing and their Archmage/MK combo. It’s also super funny how if you attack Grom’s base he just turns on you and now you have to fight the Warsong.

King Arthas is up there for hardest mission in the entire game. I think the worst part is that if you attack move your forces, they’ll ignore the nearby refugees to attack the militia, meaning every now and then you’ll watch a horse slip by your abominations. Sylvanas and Kelthuzad have it much easier but start off weak.

I never knew you could exchange items in that mission, they really gave Malfurion peanuts while Illidan gets stacked. Guess the Stormrage favoritism flipped after RoC.

I discovered that you can position yourself in the red undead base in such a way that you can actually summon an infernal onto her little island with the Inferno Stone. What’s interesting is her units will take damage from the immolation despite being on your side.

It’s also interesting to see just how much they propped Illidan up in TFT, to the point that he was in every single campaign in TFT. Guess they realized they had a hit character and wanted a new poster boy after Arthas iceblocked himself. Admittedly I always thought he died during the final duel against Arthas when I was younger.

Definitely, I loved how Illidan was freed after all that time and the first thing he does is take out the strongest dreadlord in the entire Legion lol.

I'm pretty sure the devs of WC3 mentioned there was going to be a mission planned to be exactly like the one you mentioned, clearing up all the remnant forces after Twilight of the Gods, but they realized that after a brutal 45 minute defense you probably wouldn't want to sit through another mission.

Brothers Stormrage was so hard for me that I just opted to rush Red's base in the middle with dragon turtle spam. Fighting AI undead makes you realize how obnoxious they are, every unit you own will have Curse, Cripple and Disease Cloud in like the first 5 seconds of fighting.

Gates of the Abyss is a really cool mission lorewise, loved the tie in to WC2 and how Magtheridon had repurposed the portals. It's really brutal early on especially when they bring in the red dragons since fel orcs + Unholy Frenzy shred buildings.

Playing Lord of Outland makes me sad because you realized it's the end of the Blood Elf campaign, but it's an amazing send off mission. His triumph in Outland makes his defeat in Northrend all the more crushing though.

Yeah that mission is rough on hard. For some reason on the current Reforged patch, purple's ghouls got stuck trying to harvest a tree that none of them could reach, meaning they only had 2 ghouls harvesting after a significant amount of time.

What I did was aggro the main orc forces with suicide archers and rushed through the base with a large group of dryads to get through them, usually by the time you deal with the orc base there's only like 10 trees left. You can also get a scroll of resurrection from the bottom left, locked behind the tree wall

Do you like The Oracle mission?

jennyhookie
commented

You get some sick items in this mission, and it’s interesting how it’s spread between Thrall and Cairne, but it does seem somewhat lacking. Brothers in Blood feels like it did the concept much better.

The Oracle is a well-needed break between some brutal missions though, considering RoC orcs have no healing until late.

Blood Elf campaign really spoiled us with Illidan, it was amazing. It’s such a shame we only got one mission with him in RoC.

Brothers Stormrage is a brutal mission that I could only recently beat on Hard, same with gates. TFT ups the difficulty big time
