Why do so many people hate this episode? It’s not my favourite but I quite enjoyed it, everyone in the fandom seems to despise it though.
personally, usher is my favourite singer. he is the artist i listen to most.
maybe around season 1, I could see Finn singing "you make me wanna" to Rachel.
I could also imagine the guys singing "yeah" and/or "dj got us fallin in love again" at one of the dances/proms.
Is there any fanfictions that either focus on or use group dynamics alot? Like where they are all just hanging out or doing things together?
Dont stop believing 100%
rewatching glee as an adult i thought blaine cheating was not OOC at all. it happened a little bit too quick but everything did in glee. after all blaine was the only character in the show that genuinely felt guilty and sorry for cheating AND was honest about it.
i also think that all the hardships kurt and blaine overcame after their first break up and getting back together felt like a very realistic relationship to me (minus s6). as a klaine fan the angst ruined me, but at the end of the day what they went through as a young couple is pretty relatable for a lot of watchers. not every part of a relationship sunshine and rainbows especially at their age.
I mean like Kristin Chenoweth doing Popular, Idina Menzel doing Defying Gravity, Demi Lovato doing Give Your Heart A Break, Adam Lambert doing What Do You Want From Me and etc.
Personally I think I preferred it the way we got it, with them singing mostly other songs than the ones they're associated with in the real world so to speak. While I would have loved a Shelby and April duet of a Wicked song, I can't imagine the context for it to work. In universe it's not their song as they are a separate person from the artist but it would still feel a bit too on the nose in my opinion. What do you think?
I've been rewatching Glee and I've noticed the show doesn't have a lot of character development. characters either don't develop at all or when they do start to change something happens to make them regress. Very few characters actually change and it sticks.
(what the title says basically)
I took a peek and noticed that quite a few people agree with this, but I still wanted to express it in my own words.
I’ve been watching Glee since I was a baby (I’m 15, and my mom had me as a teenager, so I grew up on shows like that). Before I even realized I was trans, Shannon Beiste’s transition just didn’t make sense to me.
Previously, her character arcs revolved around insecurity but learning to love herself. The sadness she felt as a woman came from other people’s preconceived notions of what a woman should be like. She always felt like a lady, she loved being a lady—her issue was how other people treated her.
It’s evident that the writer who made the decision for Beiste’s character didn’t fully understand what being transgender means. I was born female, so I’m very familiar with the assumption that AFAB trans people reject their sex due to misogyny. That’s really invalidating and hurtful, and this assumption was the only basis for Shannon’s gender identity being changed.
I used to express this to my mom, but being cis, she didn’t understand. So, until recently, I assumed most people agreed with her transition. I’m glad to see that’s not the case. I think Shannon’s femininity was beautiful, and this was not only insulting to trans people but also to "masculine" women. The women who are seen as less of a lady because of their appearance, and that’s exactly what Beiste’s character was meant to tackle in the first place.
It’s sad how obvious it was that this decision was made to earn praise from cisgender-dominated media outlets, rather than to genuinely support and represent trans people. Especially when the whole point of the show is inclusivity and embracing yourself—even if society shuns you.
So to any ladies out there feeling insecure because you don’t fit society’s idea of what a woman should look like, just know that you’re gorgeous despite all of that! MMMWAH
Am I the only one who thought they were just tacky in how they handled the aftermath of the school shooting? I mean, the actual part part while they were hiding was so raw and emotional, then everything goes back to normal, except the one possible instance of PTSD is a JOKE of Sam pretending he had a twin. I feel like they could have done so much with this, and just blew off the truth about what that would have caused.
I did not like Unique. Her referring to herself in the third person is so annoying. Her catfishing Ryder. I get she was trying to find herself but she just got on my nerves. Girl could sing tho
All I can think of is Finn kissing Emma but this show was so messy there’s got to be more
im new to the sub so i don't know if people already posted this but i was thinking about it in the shower and in MY OPINION if current songs (mostly pop albums 2024) were featured on glee this is my take:
-
good luck babe (chappell roan): a kurt song and they'd change the lyrics to "you can kiss a hundred girls in bars" / "when you wake up next to her in the middle of the night with your head in your hands she's nothing more than your wife", either when he had a crush on finn and thought he might be gay or when blaine thought he was bi
-
hot to go/ femininomenon (chappell roan): 100% brittany songs with the cheerios, maybe when she was running for class president and sang who run the world OR when quinn and santana came back for season 5 or 6? i don't really remember the last seasons but they sang problem by ariana grande w the cheerleaders and that'd fit as well
-
i think about it all the time (charli xcx): quinn when she wanted to get beth back from shelby
-
slim pickins (sabrina carpenter): quinn when she was kinda torn between puck and finn ("if i can't have the one i love i guess it's you that i'll be kissing") OR rachel when she cheated on finn with puck ("the boy doesn't even know the difference between there, their and they are / yet he's naked in my room") but i see it more as a quinn song
-
naked in manhattan (chappell roan): either a rachel song with brody after she's had her makeover in new york OR a song she sings with kurt, santana, dani (demi lovato) and that guy who sings marry the night (forgot his name), like they sang that one song (i also forgot which one) laying on the floor of their apartment OR a santana in nyc song
-
guilty as sin? (taylor swift): santana/unique mashup like there are worse things i could do OR just santana cuz i love her and she could pull off anything
-
so high school (taylor swift): quinn about finn in the same episode he sings hello i love you about her, he's not over her but she broke his trust and rachel's being annoying like always
-
super graphic ultra modern girl (chappell roan): maybe when they sang i kissed a girl on the episode santana was forced to come out, maybe someone sang that to her when the glee club tried to make her feel ok about it, maybe when santana found out brittany was dating sam
-
sympathy is a knife (charli xcx): rachel about quinn
-
BRAT (charli xcx) in general: brittany songs, can't think of anyone else to do them justice
-
espresso (sabrina carpenter): a whole number at the end of an episode, lead singers brittany and tina
-
girl, so confusing (charli xcx): quinn and santana working it out on the remix
-
good graces (sabrina carpenter): mercedes singing it to puck/sam/shane/whoever she was dating at the time, knowing she's a bad b*
i think that's it! i focused on the 4 albums i thought to be more popular this year but props to tinashe (nasty girl), megan thee stallion and whoever else had a hit song this year. let me know what u think!!
As the title says, friendships between the unholy trinity and Puck and Finn are not real to me, especially Puck and Finn. I kind of always thought Puck was a very bad friend to Finn. First of all, Puck betrays Finn in so many different ways: knocks up his girlfriend, saying he doesn't give a damn about Finn when he was making out with Quinn, not once considering Finn's feelings around the whole thing, guilt-tripping him to get a job when he knows that he is not the father, trying to convince Quinn to cheat on him again, and not defending Finn when Quinn verbally hurt him. Also made fun of him when he joined glee club that he and called him a loser. paintball him. After all that nonsense, in season 2 he kisses Rachel when he knows that would deeply hurt Finn again. I don't think Puck said "I'm sorry" to Finn. Finn is a better person than me because I would never forgive Puck for all that bull.
TBH it feels like Finn was more of a friend to Puck than Puck was to Finn. Finn helps Puck to pass his geography test, always believing that Puck is going to do something great in life politely tells him to check his anger. They did have very nice moments of them together but I would figure they both would grow out of each other later in life.
