Is it normal to wear jeans 4-5 times before washing them?

My husband insists on wearing his jeans 4-5 times before washing them. He will go out to eat, grocery shop, cook food (raw meat) in them and wear them all day and still fold them up and put them back in the closet. I basically have to sneak them out to wash them. Personally, if I leave the house I’m washing whatever clothes I’ve left in.

Is this normal? Am I the crazy one here? I will admit that I have contamination OCD so that could be causing me to think this is strange.

ETA: it’s not 4-5 consecutive wears. He wears them maybe 1-2 times per week and then puts them back in the closet. My biggest issue is that they’re sitting in his closet on top of/with clean clothes. They are also not expensive jeans, most of them are from Target.

AITAH for telling my mom not to kiss my newborn while she had cold sores ?

Using my wife’s account because I don’t have a Reddit account.

Wife and I are in our 30’s and we have a 3 month old baby. Recently my parents came to visit and my wife noticed my mother had a cold sore outside of her mouth. My mom gets a lot of these cold sores outside of her mouth throughout the year. Wife told me to please remind her not to kiss baby right now.

I approached my mother who was carrying our baby. I asked her if she had cut her lip and she responded that it was a cold sore in which to I responded “ ahh okay. Can you not kiss the baby right now please mom? It’s not good for them”.

My mom immediately handed me the baby and got visibly upset. She said “ oh okay then. Well here’s your baby”. My father also got very mad at me to the point where they wanted to pick up everything and leave our house (they were here visiting and we were about to start grilling food).

They ended up staying it was incredibly awkward. They called me picky, inconsiderate and rude. My wife had told me about how serious cold sores and kissing babies can be.

Could I have been nicer about the whole situation? I guess I could’ve pulled up an article but both of my parents are VERY dismissive. They could’ve still called me crazy and told me I was over reacting.

EDIT: wow, this blew up. well, I appreciate everyone sharing their experience and commenting on this post. For those who are saying this was a rage bait post, wife and I wish this wasn’t real. At the end of the day, we knew we were in the right for speaking up but guilt trip is a real thing and it was bothering me. Thanks again everyone.
