S2E11 ends with Tony returning from his (and his lawyer's) self imposed exile from being around his associates. He returns to Satriale's after experiencing an extended journey of boredom, stress, frustration, and banging secretaries (born again ones).
He walks into Satriale's back room and the whole crew is there. Furio and Pussy are looking at a magazine together. Paulie is cooking gravy while advising an actually-interested Silvio on the best kind of lotion to use. Hesh and a recently released from the infirmary Chrissy are playing a card game on the table.
Tony walks in, almost eager to get back to "this thing of ours" and that's when we, along with him, realize that much like his own house arrest, life in the mob is just as mundane and boring most of the time with brief moments of excitement and intrigue. He sits down and polishes his shoes (before using the polisher on his stress hives, with apparently happy results).
Soon after, the mundane moment is broken when a loud crash is heard out front. The glorified crew runs out to see that a local guy has crashed his car because he was driving too fast. Silvio brings Furio with him across the street, Silvio shouting about how this has happened before and Furio goes off in incoherent Italian insult ramblings.
Tony sits to smoke, Paulie to sun bathe, and the rest of the crew watches. Soon, the FBI approach, but not for any bad reason (that Tony knows, after all it's not like there's any FBI informants a few feet away) and Tony casually talks to the agents about the car crash and what happened. We can see Pussy looking at his federal captors talking to his boss with such casualness, that he indignantly stomps out his cigarillo and walks back inside.
The show ends with a soft piece of rock music as we see the crew for what is really the last time they're all together and things are even slightly normal: Pussy hasn't given Skip anything actually usable against Tony yet (next episode he gives up the airline ticket scheme); Tony hasn't gone to war with Richie yet (brief as it may be before he ends up buried under a nice tree overlooking a little river...you did???); Chris's drug problems haven't escalated to a severe level yet; Paulie is and always will be Paulie; and Furio hasn't started trying to fuck Carmela (she got a bee on her hat).
To me, it's the best ending of the show.
