r/ender5

Where can I get the firmware for the base ender 5 with a 4.2.7 board, to use with the speedy spider hotend? It looks like creality removed pretty much anything base ender 5 off their website.

HI i recently bought the Creality Upgrade Aluminum Parts MK8 Extruder for my ender 5 s1, but having taken my extruder apart to replace it, but it doesn't seem to fit?

Does the upgrade part not work for ender 5 s1? and if so how can i upgrade it?

when i try and print sometimes it dosnt work i click on the print file it says nothing on the print template or anything even after i have sliced it

I just got an ender 5 pro with bl touch installed and I go to level the bed and I can’t figure out how to level it. I only see an auto level option. It does nine touches and returns to home. The nozzle sits way too high at about 11mm and I can’t go negative on the z axis. My board is a 4.2.2 and the software is marlin 2.0.6. Should I remove the touch and flash it to factory firmware or is there something I’m missing. I’m new to printing and appreciate any help I can get.

I have been trying to find an answer to this, but did the mainboard version change at any point? i know i got mine ~4 years ago and plan on getting a CLtouch but need to make sure i have the right setup. i see these:

From my understanding is both are compatible with the Ender 5 pro.

Im at work and i plan on opening it up when i get home to check (and fix a cable) but wanted to have some idea.

I attempted to compile my own firmware using the latest Marlin 2.1.x "bug-fix" files for a 4.2.7 board with Bltouch. After flashing, the printer boots up but I am unable to move my steppers and recieve the Homing Failed: Printer Halted Error. I tested the endtops with Pronterface and all seem to work including the Bltouch.

Anyone have an idea as to what could be happening?

I guess I don't know if I messed something up in the firmware or it's a hardware issue. I can share a link to the config files if needed.

Out of the blue I'm having issues with my printer It was working fine, printing with no errors. Then I tried printing a new model and it wouldn't print. Started making horrid sounds. It seems that it has lost where XYZ home is. I've tried resetting the EEPROM with M502 & M500. I've used G28 to try to autohome. It doesn't work . When I use autohome it either goes to the middle of the bed or it tries going off the bed and makes terrible sounds. When I try leveling the bed with my BLTouch after it auto homes into the middle, it tries to level off the end of the bed and also makes terrible sounds. The error the LCD is showing is "Home XYZ First" when I try auto setting the home offsets.

I'm at a loss. Anyone had experience with this?

After a perfect run from new I have a problem.

I changed from PCBlend to PLA, I got a blockage I could not clear and have had to strip the Sprite assembly.
Even though I tightend the nozzel when the block was at working temperature a little PCBlend had leaked up towards the heatsink.

To strip it I needed to remove the temperature sensor and heater plugs from the sockets mounted on the board. Hot glue seems to have been used and totaly prevented the plug and socket seperating. In the end both parts came off the circuit board, I just hope I can push them back on!

Are there any of the modern combined nozzel/heatbreaks available for the Sprite extruder? The one shown on the Creality site won't fit.

Alternatively is the a reasonable upgrade that would let me use a nozzel/heatbreak combo?
