Need Help with my cr10 Need Help with my cr10

Hi everyone,

I'm in a bit of a bind and could really use some advice. I have a Creality CR-10 at my office, and while servicing it, I accidentally burnt out the stock extruder driver. Now, my boss has asked me to fix it using my own money, and I'm weighing my options.

Here are the two main solutions I'm considering:

  1. Replace the burnt driver chip:I could take an A4988 driver, remove its chip, and place it on the CR-10 board. This seems like a straightforward fix, but I'm not entirely sure if it's the best or most reliable solution.

  2. Switch to a RAMPS 1.4 board:Another option is to buy a RAMPS 1.4 board, make the necessary connections, and modify Marlin to work with the CR-10. I've tried this route, but I'm facing numerous issues with the configuration and setup.

I'm leaning towards the RAMPS 1.4 solution for its potential long-term benefits, but the challenges I'm encountering are making me second-guess myself.

If anyone has experience with either of these methods or can suggest a better solution, I would greatly appreciate your input. What would be the most reliable and cost-effective approach to get my CR-10 up and running again?

Thanks in advance for your help!
