Picked this up from a studio sale yesterday for $20. It appears the props people cut all the cables for some reason. What would you do with it?

Soft Start for AC on generator - HVAC professional’s advice wrong or right?

We bought the below soft starter for our 5 ton AC unit to be able to run on a portable generator we are in the market for. When we called an HVAC professional that has done a tune up on our systems before about installing this, he said “you can only use those on homes with solar panels. You need a hard start instead.” I’m genuinely confused by his response. I’ve seen info across the Internet that doesn’t mention anything about it being only for solar-run homes and talked to a coworker that had this recently done at his house (he doesn’t have solar panels). Is the HVAC professional’s advice correct or is it baloney?

Help, I have a problem. I can't stop rescuing/harvesting cells from tool batteries, with no immediate plan for their use.

This subreddit has been taken private from June12 in support of the strike on reddit to protest the upcoming changes to the pricing structure for the reddit API and related rule changes. ------- You probably want all your electronics to run on the 18650 lithium-ion cell. You just don't know it yet.

Is there a 1865Anon that'll get me to stop ? I think I can stop, but haven't.

Is using a rod of known length (5cm) to press on a scale a good way to measure torque? When I tested it, the scale said 7.5 kg for 5cm, but the mg996r should be 10kg/cm. How do I measure torque reliably?
