I've been seeing references to right wing folks suddenly hating Kyle Rittenhouse and alluding to some betrayal (eg. ) What did Rittenhouse do or say that made the right suddenly dislike him?
I've been seeing many posts like this write out the word "cis" like "c!s", as if they're censoring themselves, and I don't understand why. English isn't my first language, but "cis" is just a shorthand for "cisgender", right, and that's not anything like a slur as far as I'm aware. So can someone explain to me why so many people seem to be censoring that one word?
I was reading about the sexual abuse allegations against and came across a number of Tweets (Xeets?) throwing shade on the media outlet that broke the allegations calling it untrustworthy, far-right, etc -- see
I've never really heard of Tortoise Media. I scrolled through the website and it... seems like they cover the same topics as any other news website? Why the hate for Tortoise Media?
I've been seeing posts like this: and am lost. Why are they being suspended? Why is it making headlines?
I guess she holds up her racket to stop the other person from serving.

Is this allowed?

Does she do it way more than any others?
I just generally would like to know why this is being said and why it is being increasingly said during the Olympics.
I don't really follow world class swimming but I do see that the US, Canada, Australia, and GB are usually the favorites to win events. With the occasional winners coming from other countries.
What is going on with the Australian Olympic team and Pan Zhanle? Pan Zhanle broke the WR in 100m free swimming which is usually celebrated at the Olympics. Also, why is the coach going on some Instagram debunking of the feat?
So I just saw on twitter that Sebastian Ruiz has left second wind, and in , it seems to be mostly because of Nick Calandra?
Does anybody know more about this? Nick seems pretty reasonable to me, but I only really know about him through his altercations with Grummz.
Pretty much the title. I know there was a video by MyKayla Skinner talking about the team being old and not working hard, but is the whole thing about that?
I was watching the Olympics and the announcer just casually cruised past “The Canadian coaches were sent away for spying with drones, but the women still played.”
I found this article
but I still feel like I’m lacking context. Can anyone add color?
A bit of context I guess:
I never followed his content, I just know him from his .gif reactions. I know he said something about kids being able to transition (if kids and the parents agreed) just like a kid can pick up a sport to learn, is that the reason for his quitting?
I keep getting recommendation videos regarding a debate between moistcr1t1kal and Sneako. The comment sections are filled with saying that Sneako won.
From what little I saw, Charlie said he supports transitioning IF all parties agree, but Sneako said if someone has gone through puberty, then they can marry anyone older than them.
After Sneako said that, I almost threw up and put another video.
"pitbull mauled person" is not "mildlyinteresting", some random impact font meme used to portray a political message is not an "advice animal", "people suck now" is not a "shower thought", is not a "funny internet video", or all the times people beating each other up is posted somewhere it doesn't belong, etc.
Do mods just not care anymore?
Suddenly "weird" is all over my feed. It started with this:
And now it's just everywhere. Is "weird" the new political pejorative? Did someone use it to describe Trump and it went viral?
They all seem to mock her and the decisions they are making for the new season of the TV series.
Is she a bad actress? Doesn't look the part? Hating the game?
Saw and people were mentioning big pharma...
I saw that the bill passed the senate 97-3, so it’s clearly popular on both sides of the aisle. I also saw that Sens. Paul, Lee, and Wyden were the “no” votes which is a very strange group to be voting together.
Can someone explain exactly what KOSA is, why it’s so popular, and the reasoning for voting against it?
provides some context, but doesn’t go into specifics- particularly regarding opposition.
Usually under funny videos on Instagram the description is a (what appears like) a chat GPT answer, for example "No problem! Here's information about the Lamborghini..." or "Here's a cookie recipe..."
Example:
Most of her comment section is filled with vile trash at best to outright revisionist denial at worst with claims of her not being survivor. Is this what Elons Twitter has come to?
Link to the thread as follows
I haven’t really been following the Olympics too closely, so I haven’t been hearing about everything that’s going on. I’ve been seeing these memes pop up about a Turkish participant in the Olympics who participated in shooting games. What’s the big deal with him, what were his accomplishments, and why am I seeing memes about him today?
Example of a post where I’ve seen him:
People are talking about him all over my timeline for last day or so, and I don't really get it. Are people just finding out about him, or was he known before?
People are talking about how he only has one event. Is that uncommon?
Am I missing something?
I've tried looking through the comments but couldn't find an explanation of what it is. Who are these people? Is this supposed to be funny? Why is the meme so popular?
It seems like artists are switching to country recently. Beyonce, Post Malone, Dua Lipa, Lana Del Rey, and now MGK have either recently done country music or are planning on doing it. Why is all of a sudden it so popular? It doesn’t even seem like the genre itself is all that popular because only a few country artists can seemingly break the top ten on the charts. Aside from one-hit wonders the only country singers to consistently make the charts are Morgan Wallen, Zach Bryan, and Luke Combs. So why are all these non-country artists doing country when it doesn’t seem all that lucrative and they also come as band-wagoners and cash grabbers?
