Thank You, Anthony Mackie.

Hello everyone. I hope you are all well. I want to share a small and pleasant moment I had with Anthony Mackie. I don't have many people to share this with, and I believe it's a behavior worth honoring.

I legally immigrated to America and started living in Atlanta. One weekend, an Aston Martin SUV pulled up at the nightclub where I work part-time as a valet. A familiar face got out of the car. For me, seeing a familiar face in Atlanta is very rare. This was "Falcon." I professionally took his car and parked it. But I knew that to remain a cool uncle in the eyes of my 13-year-old nephew living in Turkey, I needed to take a photo with Mackie. I waited until the end of the night; he left the venue late. My colleague was supposed to give him his car back, and I started chatting with him on the sidewalk. I told him I was Turkish, and he mentioned that he had been to Turkey before, visiting places like Cappadocia. I said, "I hope my people treated you well," and he replied that he had a wonderful time. I told him about my nephew and asked, "If it's not too much trouble, could we take a photo for him?" He kindly declined, and I wasn't upset at all. I understood completely. I believe that people who gain fame through their work shouldn't feel obligated to take photos with random people. After he politely declined my request, he said, "Write your nephew's name on the back of one of the valet tickets and bring it to me." I brought him the valet ticket, turned my back, and coded my nephew's name, and he wrote it down. "I'll bring you something next week," he said, got into his car, and left.

These people are educated, with managers and PR people working for them. I thought he handled me professionally and didn't set any expectations. But he hadn't broken my heart either. It was a very pleasant conversation.

This event happened on a Sunday. The following Friday, he showed up again with the same car (a New York-plated Aston Martin SUV) and handed me a carefully prepared yellow envelope. Inside the yellow envelope was a meticulously printed photo with my dear nephew's name and his signature on it. I went crazy with joy and said, "You are a man of your word," he reached out his hand, and I said, "Forget about shaking hands now," and hugged him.

In these times, when I'm far from my family, home, and friends, trying to build a life in America with dreams and aspirations, he reminded me that life is full of coincidences and surprises. The thoughtfulness and effort he showed... I don't know what to say. If by any chance he sees this post somewhere... Thank you, Mackie. I have a very rich native language and am fluent in it, but I can't find the words to express my gratitude and admiration for your humanity.

From a 28-year-old immigrant Turkish fan.

P.S.: My nephews name is `Yigit` which means `Hero, Brave Person` in Turkish. :)

https://preview.redd.it/anybody-else-think-its-a-shame-we-missed-out-on-kang-dynasty-v0-wq5o5p4ywifd1.png

Don't get me wrong, I'm super hyped to see Doctor Doom (even if I'm skeptical of the RDJ casting) but I feel like an Avengers vs Doom movie was ALWAYS going to happen, they've just moved it up the timeline a few years.

Kang is sadly unlikely to get another shot at being a major movie villain (leaving his MCU legacy as a one-off villain of the week who got beat by Ant-Man).

I can't help but think about the alternate universe where somebody else was cast as Kang and this phase turned out differently. Kang is a major Avengers villain and being so close to seeing him face them on the big screen only for it to fall apart is just kinda sad.

It's also a bit detrimental for Doom because rather than having a whole phase building him up he's just going to show up as the villain at the end of this one. I was fully expecting him to be the next major villain after Kang and get a lot of build-up across multiple films (probably appearing as a Fantastic Four villain initially). I guess its possible he could be in Fantastic Four: First Steps though.

Let's talk about the Kang movie that could have been. What do you think would have happened if Kang Dynasty actually went ahead?
