Summer House

I’ve subscribed and read so many posts on this sub straight up trashing every guy and even most of the girls. I’m on season 7 and it’s highly entertaining and agree they all act up but damn, this sub seems to hate everyone on the show. Why does one even watch? I rarely see positive feedback unless it’s positively in one person’s favor during an argument on the show.

Hey everyone! I’m finally watching Summer House and I am FASCINATED and TERRIFIED by Jordan.

I got married just before dating apps became ubiquitous (at least where I lived) so I’m not super familiar with them. Is Jordan’s Hinge award an actual thing?? Is it a big deal? Or, is it like how I get emails saying I’m “one of a select few customers…here’s a coupon”?

I’m very curious!

I cannot fathom paying that for 24 cans of iced tea, period. Would anyone here? I could never, ever justify that cost. I just got an email from them advertising this new costly beverage.

Wonder if Carl has to serve it at Soft?

I just binged the whole series and I feel like I’m living on a different planet than fans/commenters! Looking for pods that aren’t so heavily biased in favor of Lindsay, as I’m tired of hearing excuses for her terrible behavior.

(Ps if you disagree with me, you’re clearly in good company lol!)

The brunch at this place is pretty good, and I like the aesthetic. However, dinner here is awful. My takeaways:

-The salads are $20 and adding any protein makes it more expensive than a normal entree.

-Cocktails are okay, but $5 more than anywhere else. An old fashioned was $20

-Marg Pizza was aggressively mid tasting and small

-Tacos were mostly slaw

It’s obviously not the worst place I’ve ever been to, but the prices are so high, I was expecting a lot more. None of the food was up to snuff

Mine is how often they are wearing outside clothes in bed! I don't even care that they want to lay down. But can you imagine how gritty those sheets must feel? Every time I see the girls laying under the covers in their street clothes I get such an ick. I couldn't sleep knowing that the entire Summerhouse germ ecosystem was also sleeping with me. The housecleaners must shake out piles of dirt, sand, glitter, and Kyle's drunken ego from the sheets after each weekend.

What small habit or quirk annoys you?

Just that - I couldn’t imagine being on the east coast, in Montauk, and ordering chicken tenders as consistently as they do. Don’t get me wrong, I love chicken tenders - but I guess I expected them to hide that childhood delight choice from the cameras?

I decided to watch for the first time because I’ve enjoyed the clips I’ve seen of Paige from the giggly squad on TikTok and I’m on season 6 episode 14. Kyle is INSUFFERABLE. Total meat head, does not contribute anything in terms of entertainment and watchability. The girls are the highlight of the show. Without Amanda there is nothing to like about that man. I feel so bad for Amanda. The amount of times she has to tell him to be kind like she’s his mommy is absurd. Is he always this much of an irredeemable asshole???

I feel like after the success of season 8 there is no way it’s gonna be topped, plus with such drastic dynamic shifts between cast members I just don’t see it being as entertaining.

I want to explain why I feel this a little more. First off Lindsay & Carl. Although I am not the biggest fan of Lindsay (or Carl either tbh lol) it would be a bold face lie of me to say that she doesn’t make great tv. With her entering this summer being pregnant I don’t see her being as explosive as she’s been in the past and she won’t be the Lindsay we’ve grown to know. That’s honestly for the best, after all she is pregnant and she doesn’t need the added stress. I don’t see her and Carl speaking much which is the right choice but not very entertaining from a viewer standpoint! I’m sure a lot of people are excited to watch Lindsay’s pregnancy journey but what Lindsay has historically brought to the show is drama and it seems like we (hopefully) won’t be getting that from her this season. Carl is otherwise boring since becoming sober (which we support) and now that he’s not with Lindsay (which we also support) I don’t see him bringing much entertainment value.

Ciara & West. I personally was a big fan on their dynamic in season 8, it was very refreshing and I know Ciara left things slightly open at the reunion but I don’t see any world where they rekindle things. West isn’t gonna wanna put in the work and Ciara isn’t gonna wanna look foolish again. From the few leaks I’ve seen they are always on opposite ends from one another. On top of that I see no possibility of West potentially trying it with the new girls because he knows the backlash he will get. So he’s essentially just there to be there. I used to want them to work it out (still slightly do) but after how much he hurt Ciara I don’t want her to put herself back into that situation. Like Ciara said it would have to be a world of change but from all the interviews West has been doing it’s very clear he isn’t willing to make that change. Even if it would be good tv. Also maybe I’m just a hater but now that I’ve seen his true colours the funny guy thing isn’t so charming anymore. I’ve always been a Ciara fan but I will agree that West bought out a more playful side of her and now I think she will be more closed off than ever this season so that’s disappointing.

I don’t really care for Jesse tbh and hearing that he has a little fling with one of the new girls doesn’t really peak my interest but as of now it might be the only story line we are actually getting. Also heard there is a new guy. Perhaps he sparks up a romance with one of the girls? I hope that Gabby has a story line this season that is beyond her being someone’s friend and I truly don’t mean that as shade, I want her to have her moment! It’s been two seasons now and I feel like Gabby is still a background character sometimes. She’s funny and I want her to shine on her own.

Kyle & Amanda have hot and cold summers. One summer they are at each other’s throats the next they are fine so we truly never know what we are gonna get.

At least I can look forward to Paige’s funny confessionals. If one thing this show is consistent about…..it’s Paige’s confessionals LOL

I don’t mean to sound so pessimistic and I am hopeful that I’m completely wrong but I am bracing slightly myself for what seems like could be a boring season LOL

I’m re watching season 4 and just had to bring this to the crowd - does anybody actually think that Luke is a decent human?

He is slimy in his conversations with Hannah (who is also awful most of the time on this show), he’s a bad friend to the boys, and what drove me to come here seeking clarity - at the reunion with Jules it sounds like he did get upset at her for not hooking up with his friend. I’m sure there is more to that story, but my god any man that thinks he can throw any ounce of shade at a woman for what she consents to is 🤢

I feel like he also always gets off the hook so quickly - so just curious - what is the case for keeping such a gross guy on tv?
