Tanya talking about Tonka's congestive heart failure while feeding him McDonald's and Gatorade is beyond delusional.

I just cannot understand how she can claim to know what is best for these animals while also feeding them so much processed/sugar filled garbage, that is clearly not meant for a chimp (it's barely acceptable for human consumption). Everything about this story is mind boggling.

Have you SEEN the Sanctuary in Florida?!?
false

The nutcases in this show cannot possibly claim to love their chimps while actively keeping them from the absolute HEAVEN that is this sanctuary. Tonka could have been here from the beginning but instead was kept in that dismal dungeon. She should be ashamed of the hurt she caused him and the joy she withheld from him.

Does EMCC still work as a last chance u given all the changes to the NCAA transfer rules?

In the EMCC editions Buddy recruited a lot of kids who had been dismissed from D1 schools. I wondered if there are still kids who end up there after D1 setbacks or did he have to change up his recruiting?

Tonia’s history/backstory was very eye opening

Specifically the adoptions. She has a huge savior complex, until the child gets old enough to complain or ask questions. They were spot on with the comparison to chimps basically being toddlers that never grow up. Tonia can fulfill her wildlife hero fantasies with no talking from her “kids.” Also very eye opening to hear from her son. To know unequivocally he’s always come second best to chimps/primates. And he still defends her. But to her he’s no longer useful. I can’t imagine having a person like that for a parent. I hope he’s able to get some therapy if he hasn’t already.

Recommended places to buy equipment?

Hi.

I'd like to buy an SB-7, and I see multiple places to buy from, and I see some versions of the box that look obviously fake to me...

That, and I'd like to support a company that treats their employees and customers well.

Eventually, we may look into an IR or night vision camera and maybe a FLIR camera down the road.

What places would you recommend to buy ghost hunting equipment?

Thanks!

Cancelled discovery+

After months of literally one episode a month, I cancelled my discovery+

Maybe in a year or 2, ill sign up for a month and watch the 12-24 episodes i missed, then cancel again, at which point i assume roadkill will truly be finished

It was a good run and a good show, but discovery doesnt seem to hsve much interest in continuing it or any of the other mtod shows i used to watch and love

At least vice grip garage is still on youtube, and Derek puts out a full feature film length show it seems like every other week at least, so at least we have a decent replacement.

Thanks for the memories David and Mike, i hope It continues for both of you

Encounters in Vietnam

I'm currently rewatching Hellier and I'm on season 2, episode 6, The Altar. It's the episode where they read the email from someone who knew Terry Wriste and recalled his memories of being a tunnel rat in Vietnam. Coincidentally, I've just finished rereading a book by an indigenous woman called Ardy Sixkiller Clarke, the book is called Space Age Indians. The author is a professor who visited various indigenous reservations, Navajo, Hopi, etc and collected true stories of encounters with paranormal/ extraterrestrials. She wrote a few books and all of them are great. Anyhow, in Space Age Indians, a few tribal Elders tell of being in Vietnam, working as tunnel rats, and encountering other, unearthly beings underground. Just like in Hellier. In another of her books, Sky People, she collected stories of all kinds of encounters people had with strange beings, a few happening in or near cave systems. Just in case this is of interest to anyone!

THAT KID

Do we know Tonka’s age? Regardless - it’s a primate, not a human, but I think he’d be very much an adult. What’s the deal with continuing to refer to him as “that kid”? I think she’s trying to manipulate us into being on her side by playing the mama-bear-protecting-her-cubs-at-all-costs card…but girlfriend - it isn’t going to happen.

In episode 3 Tonia is showing the chimpanzee Tonka some sort of social media. She says that those are Tonkas kids/children. The younger chimps belong to Myrtle Beach Safari. That is Doc Antles (from Tiger King) place. So Connie bred Tonka? His and an unknown female chimp had their babies taken away and are currently performing in South Carolina

One last ride will be the most pirated episode of a Series

Pretty sure when the show dropped its first episode it narrowly fell short o Game of Thrones peak pirated episodes, but I honestly believe it will break it this time. I'm not advocating it's piracy, I just think it's Kyna cool that 3 blokes driving cars and bickering can have such a massive global and cultural impact, achieving more success than carefully curated shows with hundreds of staff etc. Yes I know GT has a big production crew and staff, but compared to some like Game Of Thrones, the scope seems smaller but the impact is pretty on par.
