Jamison Harvey/DJ Prestige

Greetings all.

I come to you today with news of a fantastic new short documentary film about the mighty DJ Prestige.

DJ Prestige (better known to his friends as Jamison Harvey) was the founder of the storied Asbury Park 45 Sessions (where we first met) and the man behind Flea Market Funk.

Filmmaker Thomas Draudt has put together a documentary called ‘The Hustle Is Real’ about Prestige, and it came out this week.

The documentary, which has been screened at a number of film festivals and continues to make its way around the circuit is a look at the life of a working class DJ.

It features a great soundtrack (assembled by DJ Prestige) featuring Pat Van Dyke, Damu The Fudgemunk, The Gripsweats, The Sure Fire Soul Ensemble, The Greasetraps, Misha Panfilov Combo, Saucy Lady, and The Soul Surfers.  There is an exclusive title track “The Hustle Is Real” from Turkish musician Alpman as well.

You can check out the film here.

So, big ups to Prestige, and make sure you check out the film.

I hope you dig it, and I’ll see you all next week.

Also, make sure to follow Funky16Corners on Instagram, Twitter and Facebook.

Keep the faith

Thanks Larry. Been following DJ Prestige for a while, probably thanks to you. The film was great, wish it could have been longer.
