The Yarra River catchment has recorded rainfall averaging about 10 mm in the upper part of the catchment and about 1 mm in the lower part of the catchment since 09:00 AM Friday 19 July 2024. Rainfall totals of 15-20 mm is forecast for the catchment for Saturday 20 July 2024. Water levels of the Yarra River at various locations have risen in response to the rain earlier this week and are now falling. Since 9 am Friday, rainfall totals of up to 12 mm have been recorded in the Latrobe River catchment. Further rainfall totals of 10 - 20 mm are forecast for the remainder of Saturday into Sunday, with isolated higher totals possible about elevated locations. Minor flooding is occurring at Rosedale, where a prolonged minor flood peak is likely over the weekend. Further showers are forecast across the catchment for the remainder of Saturday into Sunday. Renewed river level rises are likely. Latrobe River upstream of Yallourn: River levels rises are likely along the Latrobe River upstream of Yallourn with forecast rainfall. Moe River: River levels rises are likely along the Moe River with forecast rainfall. Tanjil River: River levels are elevated and further rises are possible along the lower Tanjil River. Morwell River: River levels rises are possible along the Morwell River with forecast rainfall. Latrobe River Yallourn to Traralgon Creek: Minor flooding may occur along the Latrobe River Yallourn to Traralgon Creek. The Latrobe River at Thoms Bridge is currently at 2.83 metres and steady, below the minor flood level (4.0 m). Renewed river level rises are expected from Saturday afternoon. The Latrobe River at Thoms Bridge may reach the minor flood level (4.00 m) during Sunday. Latrobe River downstream of Traralgon: Minor flooding is occurring along the Latrobe River downstream of Traralgon.
