Hi all, I am an ex candidate who has been through the recruitment process involving DAA and CBAT.
As such, I’ve created some applications to help with DAA and CBAT preparation that you may find useful:
CBAT Ready:
DAA:
Both apps are always under development to add new content and features, so please let me know if there’s anything that you’d like next.
DAA will soon have mechanical comprehension added in the coming weeks.
CBAT Ready will have FLAG test added by the start of August.

More than a year ago, Adam predicted that Cbat was going to be a consistent musical meme, kind of like "the lick". Have you all been hearing Cbat in the past year?

New album good or new album bad because I agree whichever group of reductionist are the most vocal or whatever- Anyways do you think that the C-Bat guy would really enjoy A Tear in Space (Airlock)?
Here me out; Both open with a distinct wavy intro to entice you in, both then immediately go into a very distinct beat (One of the key aspects in Cbat being chosen for bedtime leasure), both are around the 3 minute mark (The normal amount of time a redditor can last) and both also end with a really cool outro to make sure the event of listening to it always ends with a bang.
I also think that the message of Tear in (Space A Airlock) would also really resonate with them. The infamous post ended with the breaking down of the relationship between him and his girlfriend and Airlock (At minimum... in Space) is a song about unreciprocated love from someone you love not valuing what you do for them. The music video could help him really resonate with the theme and messages of the song to find solace about the situation it if he hasn't already!
What do you guys think? No not about the f***ing album about the Cbat Guy liking a tear In space (airlock)? I feel like the two songs are similar enough and it's been long enough since the original situation that he'd probably enjoy it! The only problem I see is if he's not into music with lyrics but with the instrumentals circling around I'm sure we could solve even that issue!
All your opinions on this album are wrong btw mine are better.

Hi there,
I have just finished my CBAT and passed for Pilot roles and thought I would share my experience.
Most people arrived at 5-7 pm the night before the exam at Cranwell in time for dinner.
In terms of revision, I had read through the invitation document they sent us on the RAF portal and familiarised myself with the tests. There is also a good website to go through before you take it .
I did not download the CBAT app but I got the chance to try it the night before and it really helped for one of the TRACE tests and I do recommend it. It is around £4 and isn't completely relevant but good practice nonetheless.
If you have a lot of time to prepare (eg months to a year) I recommend an app called Impulse which I had been using for about a year not directly for the CBAT but for fun. It was £15 for a lifetime membership when I find a deal and is pretty fun but also great for puzzles and brain training.
I read through the whole pdf of all the different tests, not because it necessarily gave me a better score but because it calmed my nerves.
Everyone was wearing suits or business dress which I recommend for both dinner and the test. We went to dinner that night and it was quiet and a little awkward at first but then we went to a games room and played pool and cards. About half of us did this with the rest of the group going back to their rooms to have a rest.
I got a fairly early night but couldn't sleep. Bring earplugs if you can (just don't miss your alarm) as people get up at all different times and the doors start slamming from early in the morning. I was woken up an hour before I intended to but couldn't get back to sleep as lots of people started waking up.
Then we went to the test centre and had a very friendly man guide us through the day. There were two separate rooms; one being a break room and one the test room. The test lengths vary on how quickly you read through the instructions and/or complete them. This meant that everyone's breaks occurred at different times. You get a break around every hour depending on when you finish a test, and that lasts 5 minutes. You don't need to worry about monitoring your break length as there was a timer for each person displayed on a TV screen in the break room.
Now the tests are supposed to be hard. I don't have tips for each one but they can be found on the website I linked earlier. All I will say is stay calm if something goes wrong and take your time when reading instructions. I read all my instructions twice and did all the demo/practice questions as many times as it allowed me. It often happened that when I felt like I was getting used to the test or simply understanding it, the test would finish! But I tried not to worry as everyone is in the same boat.
People say you cannot practice for this but I think you can. You may not be able to improve your score significantly but one, it will calm your nerves, and two, even if you score one point extra that is still one point!
I scored similarly throughout all the tests with no really clear strong area but I found the multitasking MEMORY tests extremely hard. Try to remember as much as possible of course, but be warned you will probably not remember everything! So do not get disheartened. I thought I did awfully (and I probably missed out on lots of things on the memory tests) but I still did ok! They are supposed to be difficult.
Anyways, I am not sure what to write specifically but I am currently preparing for my SHINE filter interview and going to talk to my AFCO about how to prepare for that soon. I will write an update on that.
Good luck and even if it doesn't go to plan, it is a great experience and a really interesting opportunity!
Please let me know of any questions you have

This subreddit is dedicated to music mashups. A mashup is a song or composition created by blending two or more pre-recorded songs, usually by overlaying the vocal track of one song seamlessly over the instrumental track of another.
