Feeling like being the asshole at my sister's wedding because she didn't respect the ONE boundary I gave her

Hi Morgan and friends

I am a long time listener, first time poster and honestly couldn't be bothered of I get discovered because of how disassociated I am to the situation I'm in. It's either that or I get angry.

My sister got engaged last year and is getting married this year. When I got the news, I was so excited for her and her fiance and their future together. In the same breath, I gave her one clear boundary. If our sperm donor (derogatory) is going to be at the wedding, I won't be. I let her know that I know it's not about me but I can't be in the same space as this man due to our abuse history with him and I don't want to ruin her day by causing a scene. She told me she understood.

Fast forward to the wedding planning and I was assured the sperm donor (derogatory) will not be there because he fucked up as he always does. For that context, he's an alcoholic and I have him blocked on everything in my life because he is my biggest trauma trigger (I get physically sick when my mother and sister talk to me about him) but my sister has kept low contact because of some legal stuff between him and my mother. According to the both of them he was turning his life around and then fell off the wagon as expected. I was then asked to be a bridesmaid which made me really happy because I wasn't expecting it and I was gifted a really cute bridesmaid proposal thing. I don't know what it's called. Of course I said yes and got excited for the events ahead even though I know it was going to cost quite a bit (normal expenses as a bridesmaid as well as travel as I don't live in the same place anymore).

Fast forward a bit more and my mother's birthday gift gets delivered and there's an extra item. I thought in the moment it was an apology item as it was the more expensive item that I sent to her as an option due to the gift being a month late because the online shop delivered the wrong thing first and it was returned. Turns out it was a bribe/cushion for what was to come... She phones me as I get home and drops the bomb... He's been invited... After everything all three of us went through because of this man and he gets to be apart of this?? Just because the future MIL can't behave?? I didn't say anything as she was trying to justify this fucked up situation, I was just silently crying. I was told that my sister approached my mother (who encouraged this whole thing) to talk to me because I'm a bridesmaid and I told her from the start that I won't be attending if he does. My mother basically told me that I have no right to say and do that because it's my sister and it's not about me (I do feel like it's a cultural thing where as the younger person your feelings tend to get invalidated) and she's the LAST person that wants to see him (clearly not). So I'm forced to go because it's the lesser evil as it's one night versus the rest of their lives. (I would cut them off but I still have a lot of stuff I need to do before I comfortably can).

Fast forward to the dress fitting and my sister asks me to do her makeup for the day. (I am a qualified makeup artist) I oblige and as I'm doing her makeup, I talk about refreshing my hair colour for the wedding. She asks me what colour and I reply with my usual colours which is dark blue and dark purple. No issues to my face.

After the fitting I get a text where she asks me not to dye my hair those colours as she's scared it won't match the colour theme. I was pissed but I calmed down and told her that it will match the theme and my hair as it is is faded unevenly because of the thickness of it and it won't look good on her photos and I will send her pictures of the dye that I use even though she knows what it looks like and she's just so insecure that attention won't be on her. I think it's bullshit because the colour isn't bright and in your face and it's my armour at this stage.

If you've gotten this far, this is where I explain why I feel like being the asshole. I am going to dye my hair the way I want regardless of her wishes (she's not the one spending 1500 to do my hair). I am still going to buy the dress and accessories she wants. Someone is lending me a taser for the night incase sperm donor (derogatory) gets too close for comfort. I will tase him and cause a scene as I warned. I was told that he will be kept away from me but I don't trust it. It's a wedding, you can't keep an eye on people all the time. I mean this situation has put me back in therapy for fucks sake. It's undone SO much work.

The only good thing about this is that my boyfriend is 100% on board for whatever I see fit to do.

So would I be a justified asshole?

TLDR: My sister invited our sperm donor (derogatory)/abuser to her wedding after I warned her I might cause a scene and now I'm going to do the bare minimum as a bridesmaid and colour my hair the way I want and maybe tase him should he approach me. I mean what is she going to do? Chase me out of her wedding? Oh no! (Irony)

Thanks for reading this super long post. I've been debating on whether to post this or not for a few months. I guess there was a lot of info to give😅

Love the podcast! Discovered it on tiktok and became ✨ OBSESSED ✨ you can share it on the pod should you want to.💜

AITA for telling my husband to stop eating so much?

My husband (38) has always had a HUGE appetite. It is normal for him to go back for seconds and thirds. We rarely have leftovers and if for some reason we do, he’ll usually eat them for a “snack” a few hours after supper.

I cook all of the meals in the house. We also have 3 preteen kids. I try to make enough food to have leftovers for the next day so I don’t have to spend hours in the kitchen. I’m talking 24 smokies, 15 chicken breasts, 2 boxes of chicken strips. It’s all gone in one meal. He does not snack in between meals. I’ve tried to get him to eat healthy snacks like fruit, yogurt, etc so he isn’t so hungry at mealtimes.

Today he wanted to make a 3rd wrap for lunch and I asked him to please leave the chicken for tomorrow as we are leaving on vacation and I don’t want to have to cook while doing the last minute packing. He got mad and said he’s hungry and it’s not his fault he has a high metabolism. I think he just needs to train his stomach to eat less but he said that’s not how it works and he knows his body.

Anyway, is it realistic for me to just want some damn leftovers once in a while?!

Shut the fuck up

Brooke and Tana were not put on this earth to live up to your standards. Yes they are public figures. Yes they share parts of themselves with us. But there are boundaries. They are still humans in their 20s mind you!!! Give them room to grow, learn and make mistakes. If you can call buying a new cat a mistake even?

Not OOP. My husband just left me because he's been hit on by a woman for the first time in his life
