There’s a local newspaper to me that is always using drone pictures and credits the guy shooting for him. It’s things like taking pictures of traffic, roadwork, major fires, etc. I recently was curious and searched the guy’s name in the FAA registry for pilots, and he does not come up. Should I report the newspaper for not using a commercially licensed pilot? I hate when people abuse rules because it always hurts the people doing things the correct way.
I've been looking into drones for ages now. I've bought cheap "nano" drones to fly around the house before, and this seems like a hobby I would enjoy. I also like flying kites, but the need for good wind puts a damper on that.
I'm debating on getting the Mini 2SE bundle from Sam's Club ($280, 2 batteries, case and RC-N1 remote), but the Mini 3 Fly more combo is tempting as well. The extra battery, newer model, and fancier controller sound great, but I worry that, if I lose interest, I'm down twice as much with the Mini 3.
Any advice?
I'm not sure they should be serving military and private fliers.
So I would like to enter thermography business using UAS (roof and PV solar mostly).
I have a respectable knowledge in solar systems in general, I got an electrician background and designed installations before (more residential infrastructures though).
I need to learn about thermography in an UAS type of application, I just don't want to limit myself to read 15 articles on the internet and pretend I know thermography enough to provide professional services. If I do it, I want to do it nice and clean and this will requires to know exactly what I will be talking about with customers.
I know some drone schools offer this kind of trainings, here in EU there are plenty of drone training center who adapted themselves to the market and teach pilot how to scan with IR. But the content seems limited in the details.
I landed on the infrared training center which offer online classes and some courses are oriented to UAS work.
Does any of you have attempted to these trainings or others at this center ? Content seems solid.
Any advise ?
Hello all, this issue I'm having would apply to the Tie Fighter, X-Wings and I think the Millenium Falcon. I bought a used Propel Star Wars 74-Z speeder scout bike drone that didn't include a controller. I know the drone works because it lights up when a battery is inserted. I would like to bind it to my Radiomaster TX16S multi-protocol transmitter/radio.
In the protocol list of the TX16s (that has a 4-in-1 module), there one called Propel 74-Z. I followed these steps but it won't bind.
-
Plug in battery to the Propel 74-Z biker drone ..lights flash awaiting bind/sync
-
Turn on TX16S and select the protocol for Propel 74-Z and it starts to chirp as if it's attempting to bind
-
Manipulate the TX16S controls like up then down on throttle stick and various other motions ..even the switches.
I have even reversed the above #1 and #2 so radio turns on first then the drone.
What am I doing wrong? Is there a bind button on the 74-Z drone that I need to disassemble and press?
i have build a drone day before yesterday, Crashed it this morning from 5 story building. Visiably its looks ok, 1 or 2 motors are wobbling and FC is connecting to betaflight.
how to diagnose to make sure everything is alright with the FC, ESC and Motors, Drone in general?
I made a account on the enjoy fly 2 app but when i try to login the login button wont turn orange when i filled in my information
Does someone now how to fix this?
I have some questions, and this seems like a good place to start.
I am in an agriculture program, midwest U.S., graduating next year. As part of the program, there is a class offered to get your FAA part 107 and get experience with drones spraying and gathering field data. To take the class, exam included, is about $2,000 and it is two weeks long, 8-10 hour class days.
I am wondering about licensing, the class seems good and all, but what licensing is needed for different purposes, such as spraying pesticides, is anything required for photography, aerial inspection of property, etc.? Also, for the price and the experience, is the class worth it? I want to get certified to have this as a new skill, even if I don't end up using it for much, but I am curious what, if any, other licensing requirements are out there, and what, if anything, are they applicable for?
I’ve been wondering if there might be external attachments or a creative way to make my evo drone temperature lower because right now after half an hour it already starts heating up and reaching 46-47 degrees so I want to think of a way to cool it during it’s flight while minimizing the weight and battery consumption increase. Any tips or ideas?
I am using Skydroid t12 for my mavlink telemetry and control link. It operates in 2.4GHz and i am using a analog VTX which operates in 5.8ghz.
For some reason when i switch on my radio controller the video quality degrades badly and i get a lot of interference and when i switch off the radio controller again my video reception quality works fine.
What could be the reason for it and how do I overcome this issue?
Any help form community is much appreciated.
All local and provincial parks near me (Vancouver area) don’t allow drone usage, if I theoretically were to take off in my back yard and fly to and well above the parks would I get in trouble? And if so how would they manage to track the drone back to me if I were to just send it up 500m and return home?
"You can see the view through your obstacle avoidance sensors on your #DJI Mini Pro 4 #drone!
A fairly recent firmware update allows you to use the obstacle avoidance sensors as low-grade cameras. Great for filming those complex shots while moving backwards and sideways, and still keep an eye on where you're going!
This is called Vision Assist.
As part of the map and radar widget, you can swipe into the view from your sensors, pick a direction, and see where you're going. 360 degree views around your drone, all while keeping your main subject that you're filming in view!
Full disclosure: I found this out by accident. Only then, after playing with it for a bit, did I do a bit a research and realize it was recently added. Surprisingly, there seems to be very little content on YouTube about this feature, so I hope this helps someone!
