It's becoming too difficult to navigate the steam store for games because of all the shovelware

I like indie games, so I really like browsing new stuff to avoid missing games that might fall through the cracks. I love a lot of games with less than 100 reviews. The problem is now interactive recommender and discovery queue is just full of low effort 3d trash or clickers. It's like I see something and I have to determine if the 10 positive reviews are from scammers or if it's actually a real game.

But then the problem is once something is gone on steam, it's gone forever basically unless you know it exists. Ever heard of sir whoopass? It's a semi open world rpg similar to other soulslikes with a funny story. However, it's not amazing, but pretty good, so it's at an 85%. You basically won't be able to find this game because if you sort by top sellers or top rated you'll have to filter through 100 cat games first. It's just annoying. It's not even that great of a game but it's just an example of how many "okay" games just get buried forever for dumb reasons.

Why igi was so popular in india but failed to popularise in rest of the world?

If anyone know indepth history of gaming culture in india kindly enlighten here. Igi & igi2 is barely recognised by other gaming communities but it has a huge fanbase on India and Pakistan. The game itself is above average. A first person tac shooter with decent graphics at that time. It reminds me of goldeneye 007 and R6. Also these games are hardly available in different sites for sale. I've seen igi2 in gog only.

Where did "Double Jumping" come from?

I recently started playing "Solar Ash" and it's the first game I've played in a while that had a double jump mechanic, but it got me wondering where double jumping came from in the first place. I only remember as far back as platformers such as Jak & Daxter, Sly Cooper, Ratchet & Clank, but I have no idea where it came from or why SO MANY games included it, and why at some point we did not see double jumping anymore.
