Food delivery driver took pictures of my food as if delivering it, and then picked it right back up and left... Called the restaurant, they refused to admit delivery guy did anything wrong and that "he must have got the address wrong and realised it hence leaving with it".

Boomer is late to appointment. Rules don't apply?

I work at a car dealership, in service. Boomer comes in 17 minutes late for his appointment. I inform him "I'm really sorry but I am down to one tech today and we are very full up. I'll have to reschedule you."

"I'm 17 minutes late, why can't you just get me in?"

"Like I said, I have one technician instead of 2 and the appointment was 17 minutes ago. I'll have to reschedule you. If you showed up to your doctor 17 minutes late they would have to reschedule you too."

"Why can't you just get me in?"

Why are they like this?!?

Edit to add: he was 17 minutes late to a 30-minute appointment.

Using Ctrl-X, Ctrl-V is “hacking”, got reported to boss

I initially posted this as a reply to a great post from yesterday (https://www.reddit.com/r/BoomersBeingFools/s/PnsJw2SN5D), but felt it had enough potential that it could possibly stand on its own as its own post. Edited very slightly for context.

Reading yesterday’s post brought up some deep seated PTSD from a job I had about a decade (ten years ago, for people who are saying I can't math) ago. Some old bitch sat in the cubicle next to me, let’s call her Virginia, because that was her name, complained to my boss that I was “hacking” because I was regularly using Ctrl-C/X/V to copy paste things. Or Tab/Ctrl-Tab to navigate tables. This old biddie would take the mouse and click to go from field to field. I may be a lot of things (asshole is one of them) but computer virgin I am not. I used to work in hospital pharmacy in the late 90s/early 2000s on terminal based systems. There was no GUI. Hell, there wasn’t even a mouse. You MUST learn the keyboard shortcuts. But since she was 50 years older than I was (I swear she was like 900 years old) I must clearly be cheating. The fact that I, a 35 year old pharmacist at the time, was more proficient in the medical record computer system than she was, despite her 40 years of company service, remained a complete alien concept to her tiny smooth little brain.

The boss did come by, stared at me for a while, and just walked away shaking his head. He never brought it up during our 1:1s, but this wasn’t the first time that horrible woman tried to throw me under the bus for [checks notes]… doing my job.

Boomers don’t understand that some younger people actually have a work ethic. We just prefer to work smarter, not harder.

If we were in the dark ages, she’d probably try have had me burned as a witch.

Fuck you, Virginia. You are the reason your husband left you with your kids and you don’t see your grandchildren.

I feel much better for getting this off my chest.

My Italian grandma defends me against a wild boomer

This happened a bit ago and thanks to recent events my memory is a bit hazier that usual, so I'm sorry if this isn't well told. Also on mobile, so sorry for formatting Inspired to share by The Click's video :D

For context, I'm in college and my grandma insists on bringing me to shop occasionally. She'll drive, we split up in store to browse separately, then we'll meetup before checking out. My grandma is a sweet Italian woman who is regularly attending various churches in our area, and I'm an emo satanic trashpile - dyed hair, platform boots, spikes, pentacles, the works. So I often get snide comments when I'm out alone, and this day wasn't an exception. This random lady came up to me with a confidence only found in old white women who's kids don't call, sneers at me, and goes "Jesus could've loved you." I was kind of thrown by her wording, usually her type uses present tense while preaching at me, so I just replied with a simple "Okay?" Apparently that was the wrong answer. She seemed furious and started scolding me, insulting my hair and boots, saying I'll go to hell and burn - the works. This lady was huffy. And then, like the clouds parting after a storm, my grandma showed up. I didn't even notice her until she cleared her throat, standing to the side of me and this bitch. I lit up honestly, I'm a total grandma's boy and I felt better with her nearby. I think the boomer lady and I both had our blood run cold when my grandma started laying into her, though. Quoting scriptures, slipping into Italian, absolutely ripping this lady to shreds with an eery calm. My grandma doesn't get mad, she gets disappointed and it was crystal clear here. She's incredible. Before corralling me to the check-out line, she parted with "Jesus loves kindness, not whatever you are." Some boomers are hella chill, others are just trashy

Boomer likes to steal

Okay so here it goes, I work at a gas station where every Sunday this guy comes in after church. I know this cause most days he is with his wife and they talk about how sad it is people like me can't go to church. Everyday he takes a big bite out this one item we sell they like a fried tortilla thing. So then they will come up to the register and he will be like I am buying x number of them. However he refuses to open the bag he puts them in to see if one of them is the one he has eaten off of. Finally I catch him doing this on camera. He comes up and just says he is buying one. I ask about the one he bit into. He was like I didn't like it and I said okay but I still have to charge you for it. He gets made and is like its not my fault I didnt like it. I said, "Sir its no ones fault you didn't like it. But you ate half of it, like any l place you buy food from. That is a risk you take if its a new item." He was like I am calling your manger. I was like whatever.

Saw my first entitled Karen in the wild

I was at the local E.R. Tuesday and saw my first Karen in the wild. It was nearly midnight and I had been there since around 5pm so to say I was tired and hurting would be an understatement. They were getting ready to release me when your typical Karen walks in, marches up to the nurse's station where you check in. Everything is quite at first so I wasn't really paying that much attention until voices got loud.

Apparently the woman wanted to see/visit someone in the E.R. exam area where the hospital bed area is. They were not allowed back for some reason and boy did it get ugly then.

The woman insisted that her friend/relative was back there and she was going to see them. The staff informed the woman politely that she could not go back, and was told previously that she couldn't. Following is the conversation as I heard it CW= crazy woman NS= nice staff Cop= duh.

CW. "I WILL go see them. RIGHT NOW!"

NS. "No mam you won't. We've explain to you twice before there are no visitors allowed at this time."

CW. "You will let me back there now. It's my RIGHT to see them."

NS. "No mam it isn't. You are not allowed in the exam area."

CW. "I NEED to make sure they are alright. YOU CAN'T KEEP ME FROM SEEING THEM YOU IDIOTS. HOW AM I SUPPOSED TO KNOW IF THEY ARE OK?"

NS. "Mam can you please stop yelling. There are sick people here and your disturbing them."

This is when the cop walks through a side door that the woman can't see at her angle. He nonchalantly leans in the doorway out of her view.

CW. "I don't give a SHIT about these other losers. I WANT TO SEE (person's name). RIGHT NOW. WHAT ROOM ARE THEY IN?"

NS. "Mam Im not going to tell you again to calm down and lower your voice. You are not allowed to see the patient at this time. I will call security if needed."

CW. " CALL THEM, I DON'T CARE. YOU CAN'T KEEP ME FROM SEEING THEM. I KNOW MY RIGHTS."

This is when the cop starts slowly walking towards the nurse's station. The CWs phone rings and she walks a few feet behind me and answer's her phone.

CW. "NO THEY WON'T LET ME SEE (person's name). "No they won't tell me what's wrong". (long pause) " No I won't." (shorter pause). "Oh I'll see about THAT."

She's quite for a few moments then marches back to the nurse's station. While she was on her call. The cop walked up to the station and is leaning on the desk. The CW see's the cop and pauses. Then walk's the rest of the way back.

NS. "Mam you need to leave now. We've told you three times now that you are not allowed to visit the patient at this time. And you have disturbed this waiting area for the last time tonight. You have a good night now."

CW. " I'll have all your job's for this you assholes."

She storms out, and a few moments later I over heard the staff talking to the cop.

NS. " If she wants my job so bad she can have it. Then I wouldn't have to put up with people like her."

Cop. "What was her problem anyway?" He chuckles.

NS. " The patient didn't want her back there." He smiles at the cop. "The patient said she was a bitch and didn't want her in their room for any reason."

Made a long E.R. visit interesting in a good way for once.
