but beyond that I've seen him get absolutely no recognition. He is incredibly with that damn axe but is never mentioned in the discussion of great bassists. As a bassist myself, his shit really stands out as masterful, but maybe I'm just stupid and don't understand how Paul McCartney is gazillions of leagues ahead of Cisneros. Or maybe I'm just biased.
Until the first 45 seconds Al plays a little jam on the bass and the rythm of it is just incredible. I know after those 45 secs he plays a Sleep Holy Mountain song which i do not remember the name, but i really want to have some info on the first part. Any ideas?

What was he like? He seems so quiet and mysterious. There's very little footage of him despite being such a driving force for Sleep and the sound that they created in the genre

I've listened to a fair bit of these artists but only in dribs and drabs, I'd like to do a proper sit down session with their work.
If I wanted to really get to grips with Asbetsosdeath, Sleep, Om, High on Fire, Shrinebuilder, Pike vs. The Automaton and Al's solo albums, is there a good route to take?
EDIT: Thanks for the suggestions so far! I should have said, of the bands listed above, Sleep is definitely the band I'm most familiar with already, so especially looking for guidance outside of their catalogue.
Ever since I was a boy I dreamed of being carried across the sandsea, with Al dropping out of life with me clutched in his tender grip. People say to me that a person being a bong is Impossible and I'm fucking retarded but I don't care, I'm beautiful. I'm having a plastic surgeon install an 18mm downstem, a hand-blown percolator and a shower head diffuser.
