Al Cisneros is criminally underrated

Obviously, not within the sphere of doom/stoner metal,

but beyond that I've seen him get absolutely no recognition. He is incredibly with that damn axe but is never mentioned in the discussion of great bassists. As a bassist myself, his shit really stands out as masterful, but maybe I'm just stupid and don't understand how Paul McCartney is gazillions of leagues ahead of Cisneros. Or maybe I'm just biased.

Steve Von Till will release 3 new albums this year, collaboration with Al Cisneros (Om, Sleep)

Good news for Steve and Neurosis fans!

Steve Von Till on IG:

"This year I will be releasing a series of three full length Harvestman albums. The series titled, Triptych, will be released on the Pink Moon (April 23rd), the Buck Moon (July 21st) and the Hunter’s Moon (October 17th). This has been in the works for a while, but I am finally done (well, almost done, I’m still mixing the third one). There is a unique flow and sonic DNA that spreads across all three albums that I have really enjoyed uncovering. I hope you will join me on this journey as it unfolds. Here is a teaser of the opening track. My friend, Al Cisneros (OM, Sleep), graciously put down some heavy bass grooves on this one. In fact he did this for one song on each album for which there will also be a corresponding dub version on the b-side"

You can add visual artists, directors, novelists, even genres of music and other forms of art.

[WDIS] Matt Pike and Al Cisneros

I've listened to a fair bit of these artists but only in dribs and drabs, I'd like to do a proper sit down session with their work.

If I wanted to really get to grips with Asbetsosdeath, Sleep, Om, High on Fire, Shrinebuilder, Pike vs. The Automaton and Al's solo albums, is there a good route to take?

EDIT: Thanks for the suggestions so far! I should have said, of the bands listed above, Sleep is definitely the band I'm most familiar with already, so especially looking for guidance outside of their catalogue.

I sexually Identify as Al Cisneros’ bong.

Ever since I was a boy I dreamed of being carried across the sandsea, with Al dropping out of life with me clutched in his tender grip. People say to me that a person being a bong is Impossible and I'm fucking retarded but I don't care, I'm beautiful. I'm having a plastic surgeon install an 18mm downstem, a hand-blown percolator and a shower head diffuser. From now on I want you guys to call me "Bong" and respect my right to follow the smoke towards the riff filled land. If you can't accept me you're a glassphobe and need to check your stoner privilege. Thank you for being so understanding.
