r/ShogunTVShow

Shōgun, set in feudal Japan, charts the collision of two ambitious men from different worlds and a mysterious female samurai: John Blackthorne, a risk-taking English sailor who ends up shipwrecked in Japan, a land whose unfamiliar culture will ultimately redefine him; Lord Toranaga, a shrewd, powerful daimyo, at odds with his own dangerous, political rivals; and Lady Mariko, a woman with invaluable skills but dishonorable family ties, who must prove her value and allegiance.

false

I mean I don't imagine its anywhere particularly interesting as el camino made it clear it was pretty much happily ever after, but I feel like after that much time, at least in the theoretical the sky is the limit.

He could have relapsed (after all hard drugs are difficult to truly kick), he could still be broke despite having a clear record, he could be living his best life, he could be having extreme levels of success or just own a wood working shop or something, or just be a carpenter. We have no idea obviously but what do you think

I really love this scene, if your younger self were to give you advice now what would it be?

Did rewatch change anyone's opinion/viewpoint?

In regards to anything, but more specifically on Walt??

Im curious, because I first watched the show in 2011 when I was 19 years old and finished it in 2013 when it ended. Loved it, always watch scenes from Youtube etc. But I must say that first time around, I was completely caught up in Walt as a character, and I rooted for him all the way. I never saw anything he did as wrong and when someone got in his way, Skyler, Jesse, Hank etc. they annoyed me.

On rewatch, a few years later, I saw things COMPLETELY differently. Not only did I find Walt to be a tad immature right from the get- go, but I also realize how irrational my hatred of Skyler etc. was. He was completely in the wrong and his treatment of Jesse was HORRIFIC. First time I just kinda saw it as a goofy love- hate kinda thing, but second time, man he just used and discarded him and completely ruined his life. By s4 he had become a complete manipulative creep.

Just curious to see what ppl say. Agree/Disagree? Thoughts?

worst plot line in the show?

hi! just wondering what you all think is the worst, most useless plot line in the entire show?

mine has to be amelia and sam. truly a waste of time. i genuinely can’t think of a reason why they’d even write that???? there is no other way to describe it, but a waste of time. and just meaningless???

any other ones?
