Just a week ago, Giannis had the honor of carrying Greece's flag during the opening ceremony, a remarkable journey considering he was stateless and faced numerous challenges in obtaining Greek citizenship until he was 19. He even changed his last name from Adetokunbo to Antetokounmpo to navigate bureaucratic hurdles.

"The day they told me and asked me if I'd be willing to represent the country and be the flag barrier, my first response was, 'I want my captain, Kostas Papanikolaou, to do it.' He had more national team appearances than me. But it was like, 'No, we want you to do it because you represent everything that sports represents: the way you carry yourself on the court and off the court; we love you to do it.'

"And, I said, great. It'd be an honor for me to do it. And when I did it, as I said, the biggest honor that I've ever done in my life," Giannis stressed.

"And I know that my father is watching from heaven, and he's dancing about this. It's something that might not happen again. I might win another [NBA] championship, I might win another MVP: who knows? But I might never carry the flag.

"So I tried those 45 minutes to soak it in as much as I could. Going through the Eiffel Tower, and it was raining. It made it even more dramatic. Seeing my mom from all of the family... It was a great experience, and I will never forget it in my life."

James Harden is 34 three pointers away from passing Ray Allen for second place on the all time list James Harden is 34 three pointers away from passing Ray Allen for second place on the all time list

Even more impressive considering the difficulty on most his attempts being ISO step-back threes rather than catch and shoot. An all-time underrated shooter.

Another fun fact is Lebron James is only 150 away from passing Reggie Miller. Even with Lebron's longevity, it speaks volumes on how much the game has changed when a "non shooter" can surpass someone who was once considered one of the best shooters of all time.

If Canada is gonna have any chance they need Jamal Murray to visualize Deangelo Russell and Austin Reaves guarding him and to visualize Khem Birch to somehow look like Jokic in the pick and roll.

What are your thoughts on how Jamal Murray has looked these Olympics? Is he still hurt or is it something different?

Steve Kerr on Devin Booker in the Olympics: “He’s probably the guy who has been the most adaptable to go from a different role in the NBA to a new one here. He’s adapted to being an on-ball guy, ball mover. The offense clicks when he’s out there, the defense is really good.” Steve Kerr on Devin Booker in the Olympics: “He’s probably the guy who has been the most adaptable to go from a different role in the NBA to a new one here. Devin Booker seems to have adapted to his role seamlessly, and is in line to possibly start for the rest of the Olympics

Dwyane Wade on Team USA: “This team is so deep, in six games we’re not going to get an opportunity to see how dope this team really is,” […] “I know with my own eyes I have not seen a team like this. My ‘08 team was very good, but I don’t know if we was as deep as this team.”

[Golliver] France coach Vincent Collet on Victor Wembanyama in Germany loss: “He stopped the ball too much. Against that kind of aggressiveness, you can’t play that way. You are never 1-on-1 because they come to double team and there’s no space to operate. It’s important to move the ball.”

John Skipper: “(Warner Bros-Discovery) might like to be relieved of their obligation to pay their $1.2-1.3B in the upcoming season and let Amazon or NBC start early and that way Mr. Zaslav could say to his board, ‘Not only did I not overpay for 11 years of the NBA, I’m gonna save us $1B to $1.5B’” John Skipper: “(Warner Bros-Discovery) might like to be relieved of their obligation to pay their $1.2-1.3B in the upcoming season and let Amazon or NBC start early and that way Mr. Zaslav could say to his board, ‘Not only did I not overpay for 11 years of the NBA, I’m gonna save us $1B to $1.5B’”

From former ESPN president John Skipper

It seems hard for me to believe WBD thinks they are going to prevail in a court case…

That means they must think they are going to get something else, and the only thing I can think of is they think they’re going to create enough consternation that they’re going to put lawyers in rooms and they [The NBA] will ask “what would you settle for,” and my guess is what they would settle for is money.

At one point, it occurred to me that they [WBD] might like to be relieved of their obligation to pay their $1.2-1.3B in the upcoming season and let Amazon or NBC start early and that way Mr. Zaslav could say to his board, “Not only did I not overpay for 11 years of the NBA, I’m gonna save us $1B to $1.5B.”
