I listen to probably 95% podcast and 5% music. I'm able to listen during most of my workday and it makes the day go by so much faster. I also do a lot of endurance activities, so I don't need to be hyped up. Really the only time I listen to music is driving with friends and going heavy at the gym.
Hello. With the recent killing og google podcast by alphabet in preference for YouTube video. Was wondering what others have migrated too or can reccomend for Android auto as antenna pod I'm now using decides to mute halfway into a podcast but still runs and will randomly Come back but then ends when the play time timer ends thinking that's the end of the podcast
This might be a somewhat special interest topic, but I want to ask whether any of you know of any Windows Podcatcher that supports separate title pictures for each chapter?
One of my favorite podcasts uses a lot (~50) of chapter marks each with it's own picture to illustrate the content. On Android catchers like Podcast Addict or Pocket Casts support this feature, yet I can't find anything like it on Desktop, which is driving me insane, because it feels like I am missing content when listening to the same content on Grover for example.
EDIT: If you can live with downloading the podcast files from somewhere else has this feature
EDIT2: It seems that the KDE application does indeed support this and has a windows binary available
Need some podcasts for a loooong (24 hr+) drive. I love Timesuck, Tooth and Claw, Out Alive (rip), Hardcore History, Scary Interesting Podcast, Hard Fork... those are my weekly go tos. I also really enjoyed limited time runs like The Dropout, the Magnus Archives, and Up and Vanished (although the later 2 wore out their welcome by the end). Any recomendations based on this list? I know I'm not exactly genre specific, but I've noticed that basically anything with a likeable host/hosts will normally rope me in
I've tried a few audio dramas and while they're ok I prefer podcasts where a narrator is telling a story. One of the best of these I listen to is Achewillow, I find it really well written and narrated but I'm struggling to find something similar.
Hi guys! My best friend and I launched our podcast in May and we are doing everything ourselves, which is so fun but also a challenge to figure out how to grow. When we launched we had 4 episodes pre-recorded and now started booking guests. I’d love some feedback and constructive criticism. Anything is fair game from visuals to episode topics, audio and video quality, how we converse or format the show. Just please be kind! If you have any tips for what you’d like to see more/less of or general podcast growth advice I’m happy to hear it. At this point we are looking for as much outside feedback as possible to make sure we are going in the right direction.
Show concept: Two women of color in their 30s on their prospective mental health, professional, and cultural journeys laying it all out there. We don’t have it all together yet and we don’t pretend to. We felt we weren’t represented in the podcast landscape and in this influencer era, just wanted to create a space where we can be real and honest about what it looks like to start over and build your life. We look at pop culture and relevant topics through the lens of mental health and being an empath. Each week we have an EA meeting or support group where we share what’s on our mind or hear from fellow womxn of color, LGBTQ+, and minority guests who are giving back to their communities.

It's my all-time favorite podcast and it's so hard to find anything like it, it hits that true-crime style but it's more of a real-life human drama documentary.
Other podcasts that I listened to that gave me, sort-of, similar vibes are:
-
'Heaveyweight'
-
'This American Life'
-
'Walking on Eggshells with an Emotional Vampire'
-
'Mystery Show'
-
'Bright Eyes' this is supposed to be 'Dead Eyes'
UPDATE thank you all for so many awesome suggestions! Ima be set up for a year after this...

Hi y’all,
I’m looking for podcasts similar to Serial and/or Foundering. Specifically I like how these podcasts have unique seasons that dive into a specific topic across multiple episodes and I would love to know about other podcasts that have a similar format with multiple seasons. Ideally these would be non true crime podcasts but wouldn’t mind if the podcast had a true crime season mixed in like with Serial season one. Thank you!
I love true crime however, sometimes I lose interest of the vibe is effected by the host.
Is there any podcasts that are told in a way that's meant to be scary if that makes sense?
My favorite podcast of all time is The Adventure Zone, specifically because I felt that their first 2 campaigns had unbelievably strong characters and great plots. I’m now looking for a new podcast that tells a story in some way (narrated or audio drama) which is equally good. I’m a fan of D&D/fantasy, but open to trying most genres. Any suggestions?
Looking for suggestions for the above. Would also LOVE a really good black horror anthology if you know of one. Thank you!
For context I’m thinking about writing a fantasy book where these will be major themes. Thank you.
I’m looking for recommendations for podcasts with a great mystery element. Doesn’t have to be true crime, although I do appreciate those. Just something that makes your mind have to chew on it for a bit.
That said, not looking for conspiracy theories or paranormal stuff that bends over backwards to try to ?prove’ that something exists. But if there is an element of potential paranormal activity, that’s fine.
Hi, I've never listened to Comedy Bang Bang, and given the amount of people I like that appear to be in it, I really should, but I find the sheer volume somewhat intimidating. Comedy Bang Bang fans, what are the essential episodes to get into this show? Should I start from the beginning? Do the essential episodes include Paul F Tompkins? (I'm betting yes, I've heard he's on this show a lot)
Maybe I'm peculiar in my tastes... But I truly believe this is the best podcast of all time.
For those who don't know it, it's a fictional comedy podcast. There are two seasons, the first one about a fictional world series game, and the second about a fictional movie production.
I don't want to say anything else for people who haven't heard it.
I'm a former professional lodcaster so I think that skews my tastes and preferences in certain ways.
Just curious if anybody else has heard it and had a similar opinion.
I remember listening to a podcast when I was about in middle school (5 or 6 years ago) and all I remember was two things 1. It was a real play rpg/story that was cthulhu based or inspired, so I think it was a real play call of cthulhu podcast, and 2. It started every episode with a quote "The most merciful thing in the world, I think, is the inability of the human mind to correlate all its contents. We live on a placid island of ignorance in the midst of black seas of infinity, and it was not meant that we should voyage far" I distinctly remember that quote being used every episode, but now I can't find it.
Hello, I’m new to the podcast world. I used to only play music in the office, but quickly got bored of that. Lately, I’ve enjoyed putting on a podcast in my office to help me do some work. I started with how did this get made. I’m looking for similar vibes. I don’t mind politics, history, etc. I’m just really wanting something funny and that will make the day pass by.
Not a fan of crime/murder as those bore me.
And I don’t want gym bro content.
I just want funny and also wanna learn a little lol.
Thank you in advance.
I feel like a lot of the skeptic podcasts I have seen in researching this are more focused on debate or coming up with theories on how people could accomplish XYZ paranormal whatever. But I am looking for a podcast (or episodes) that covers paranormal stuff that was actually proven fake and how they did it. Stuff like the fake seances that used to be really popular back in the day or Peter Popoff, fake psychics, etc
Was a big JRE listener from around 2011-2019 before Joe’s political shift. I miss having a semi-regular live podcast with free-ranging, topical conversations.
Are there any similar podcasts I could dial in too?
Caveats- I don’t mind if it’s sometimes political, but I don’t want politics as the sole focus.
I also prefer podcasts with 1 on 1 or 1 on 2 conversation format. I find 4+ speakers hectic.
TIA!
I am look for specific episodes of podcasts/audio dramas that will scare me. When I listen, I will give my reaction.
I am looking for a podcast that has a technological perspective, which views technology, and its impacts on our society, everyday life and politics. I don't want a simple podcast for technology news or tech policies, but rather one with a deeper look into how the new technologies affect us. For instance a very simple question i have is how algorithms that are used in social media are affecting the political landscape and what theories are there.
I really like this podcast and most of the stories on it are great!
There's just one thing that's bothering me... Why does he end each podcast with "I'll see you next week...... But you don't have to take my word for it"?
Just learning that Richard Simmons passed away today at 76.
It’s been a while since listening to the podcast, “Missing Richard Simmons.” Richard never “appeared” to be interviewed, but it was interesting to learn about his life.
I sincerely hope he passed peacefully.
