Spoiler policy going into the DLC.
MOD •

Hey all, just a brief post about how spoilers will be handled concerning Shadow of the Erdtree.

For the first month of the DLC's release, in other words, until July 21st 2024, any information about bosses, areas, quests, characters, story, secrets, etc... that have not been shown in official trailers will be considered spoilers.

Concerning posts :

Posts about spoilers must be appropriately spoiler tagged. Under no circumstance may you put spoilers in the title of your post.

Example : "That [insert boss name] fight was amazing" is not a suitable title, even if spoiler tagged.

However, something like "That final boss was amazing", with a spoiler tag, is fine.

Concerning comments :

If a post has been spoiler tagged, then you may discuss spoilers freely in the comments of that post without using spoiler tags.

However, comments on posts unrelated to the DLC must be spoiler tagged if they contain DLC spoilers.

For example, if there is a post about people's favorite boss music, and you wish to mention a boss from the DLC, please spoiler tag your comment.

Of course, if the post itself is a spoiler tagged post about DLC music specifically, then within that post, your comments do not require spoiler tags.

These rules are being enforced in order to ensure that everyone can enjoy the DLC to the fullest. I know 30 days may seem long, but given the apparent scale of this DLC, we want to make sure as many people as possible can enjoy it while still using the subreddit.

If the DLC turns out to be considerably shorter than expected, then the 30 day period may be reduced. But expect it to be at least 2 weeks in any case. Thank you all for your understanding!

DISCUSSION

This post is to implore you to be gracious towards people who complain or ask for help on this or other Fromsoft subs. I'm a stupid person. I have a low iq, I'm not smart. When I go through the Iron Keep I have to try so many times the knights stop respawning. When I went through Dragon Aerie in DS2 for the first time I did the same thing because I didn't get that the dragon knights wouldn't attack you unless you attacked them or ran past someone (I didn't learn that on my own, I never learn anything on my own, I learned that when I was looking up complaints about them on reddit in a fit of rage). I have hundreds of hours in fromsoft games but I still panic roll into attacks constantly, I still struggle on basic enemies, I still constantly fail to adjust my strategy/tactics to new situations. My brain isn't pliable like that, it struggles to adapt to novel problems.

Us stupid people are trying our best. Our plight is valid, we are valid members of the community. Please don't be so mean to us. That's all.
