My take on motorcycle cops My take on motorcycle cops

Full disclosure, I am in no means a boot licker. My view on the police, although not important to this post, is respect them, but also know that you have rights. I will not let myself be bullied or have my rights infringed upon by a police officer.

I was pulled recently by a motorcycle cop. I was doing a wheelie while traffic was moving slow (not the best idea, I know) and when I turned off of the main drag I saw the lights go off. Not a great feeling.

He asked me to step onto the sidewalk which I did. At first, he reprimanded me for being careless on a public road with so many people around. He said that at the end of the day, he’s a rider just like I am and understands wanting to get a little wild on a bike, he said just to do it in the right setting. Last thing he wants to do is scrape me off of the front of a car is what he told me.

I was let off with a verbal warning and then we just talked about his z900 he has at home. Super cool guy, told me to “have a better day” after we parted ways.

I feel like every video I’ve seen about people interacting with motorcycle cops has a similar narrative. They just seem to really care about rider safety and don’t want to see someone get hurt. Has anyone else had a similar experience? Has anyone ever been blasted by a motorcycle cop?

What’s the scoop here?
