Hey y'all! This might be a bit silly but I was on the Disney princess subreddit and made a comment about Ariel and thought I might share it here. Hopefully those who've watched the movie, or other Disney movies, can share similar sentiments.
I feel like Ariel speaks to my soul. I was raised in a cult where everyone outside was bad, much how everyone on land was bad to the mermaids and especially Triton. I had always wanted to explore the world outside and many times had "souvenirs" from the other side (music albums, type of clothing, a ticket from a movie) but my parents always tore them up, burned them, and threw them out! I understood how Ariel felt!
More so when I fell in love with someone that those who sought to control me, with the best intentions btw, didn't want me to be with! I understood that Ariel wasn't doing all this for a man, it was just a push.
People who downplay how Triton reacted as a normal parent-child argument are wild. I would not treat my child the way Triton did, demeaning and dismissing her while literally blowing shit up all around her! If a parent today blew up their child's belongings, I know CPS is coming! Lol
I was raised to believe that my parents could do no wrong. However they spoke to me was right, however they treated me was perfect. "Listen, obey, and be blessed" man. Ariel showed me parents aren't always correct and can be contradicted. And there's nothing wrong with forging your own path.
I feel like Ursula can be likened to the many enticing aspects of the world that may not be good for you, things that take you off track or come back to bite you. Without correct and supportive parental guidance, it's almost impossible to avoid making any bad decisions. I made my own bad decisions after leaving the cult and my family. Now some can say it's because I decided to leave and throw a "tantrum" and not listen to my parents.... But I think I'd be worse off if I stayed!
Ariel had always been my favorite! But as I grew up she meant more and more to me 💜

API Changes, spez, etc. You know the drill. We'll be back when other people are coming back online. Go watch some movies in the meantime. For more information see /r/ModCoord.
It’s a trend I noticed in 80s and I think some 90s films that I really enjoyed. But now it’s been a while since I watched any; I’m having trouble thinking of any examples. I’m looking for movies where the opening titles (not the ending titles) feature a cartoony animation of the main characters and tell a story or about the characters. They have a nice lighthearted mood and I really enjoy them but nowadays you only see that sort of thing on the end titles of animated movies. It’s cute but it’s not the same.
Examples I can think of are the opening titles to Mannequin which show Kim Cattrall’s character in different time periods and I think one of the Honey I Shrunk The Kids movies? Any other examples?

Fan-run discussion forum for the liveplay D&D show Critical Role and other media produced by Critical Role, including The Legend of Vox Machina on Amazon Prime.
CR as a whole has made a conscious effort to rename things that originated from WOTC and Forgotten Realms.... The Raven Queen is the Matron of Ravens now, a bunch of races are given original names, etc. And in the finale of Campaign 1, Joe Manganiello appeared with his original character, Arkhan, who was later integrated into actual D&D lore, including direct references to stuff he did in Critical Role.
So if the animated series is going to adapt all of campaign 1, what will they do about Arkhan? Vecna is pretty much guaranteed to just be called "The Whispered One", but are they allowed to use Arkhan? Does Arkhan have a last name? Also... is Tiamat called something else in Critical Role?
READ BEFORE POSTING TO AVOID GETTING BANNED: Post pictures of cartoons/movies that have been redrawn in a different style. A good example would be an image of the South Park characters done anime style. Another example would be turning a Nintendo character into a Disney Pixar art-style.
