The Australian Financial Review Energy Awards are designed to recognise and celebrate the excellence, innovation, service and achievements of the businesses and people driving the future of the energy industry. The Australian Financial Review Energy Awards are open to all organisations that operate in and/or service the Australian energy sector.

The 2024 Financial Review Energy Awards Night will be held at the Hilton Sydney on the evening of Monday October 21, 2024. We look forward to celebrating the remarkable achievements of the Australian energy sector as we announce the winners and finalists across six award categories.

FAQs

How much does it cost to enter the awards?
There is no entry fee, however, there is a one-off administration charge of $50.

Who can enter?
These awards are open to all organisations that operate in and/or service the Australian energy sector.

Can we enter more than one category?
Organisations may enter as many categories as they wish, but must complete a separate entry for each category.

Can we submit more than one entry in a single category?
Only one entry per organisation per category is allowed.

What period do these awards relate to?
Applications will be judged on core achievements that have taken place in the period January 1, 2023 to June 20, 2024.

How will I know that my submission has been received?
Once you have submitted your entry you will receive a confirmation email stating that your entry has been received.

Are collaborative entries accepted?
Yes, but the entry should come from a single lead organisation. You can name any other contributing organisations or external partners in the ‘Name of Additional Organisation/s’ field on the entry form, and if your entry is shortlisted, we will give due credit to partners.

When is the opening date for entries?
Entries will open at 9:00am AEST on Wednesday June 26, 2024.

When is the closing date for entries?
Entries close at 5:00pm AEST on Tuesday August 6, 2024.

How do I submit an entry?
Please read the Entry Kit then click ‘Enter Now’ on the website. Register on the awards submission platform start your entry. Please create a separate entry for each category you are entering.

How are the entries judged?
A selection committee from The Australia Financial Review will review all entries and create a shortlist to be provided to the judging panel. Our panel of esteemed judges will then review the shortlisted entries and determine the 2024 Financial Review Energy Awards winners.

When are winners announced?
Winners for each category will be announced at the 2024 Financial Review Energy Awards night to be held on the evening of Monday October 21, 2024 at The Fullerton Hotel Sydney. Winners will also be published in The Australian Financial Review on Tuesday October 22, 2024 and on afr.com.

Can I re-enter the same initiative/strategy/project next year if I don’t win this time?
Yes. Very promising initiatives may simply need slightly more time to be able to sufficiently demonstrate their full impact. We will happily consider repeat entries in future years, provided they show further evidence of positive outcomes.
