This is a place to discuss horror literature. Any book is up for discussion as long as that discussion is respectful. It doesn't matter if you're into Stephen King, Octavia Butler, Jack Ketchum or Shirley Jackson, this is the place to share that love and discuss to your heart's content.
I love horror, but I cannot stand when anything happens to animals, especially pets. For context, I began reading Tender is the Flesh and was not fazed by the humans being processed as meat but as soon as the puppy came up… I could not. I can read some pretty creepy and graphic stuff, but not to animals. It’s weird I know.

I was just curious which country in the world has the most bunnies as pets as well as whoch country respects domestic bunnies the most.
My partner and I have 4 cats and a dog. We love them, we spoil them. We want another dog, and I’d even be open to another animal after that.
My question is: how many pets can you have before the amount of time/quality of relationship with each individual starts to decline?
For example, the lady on Tiktok with 14 dachshunds—there’s no way she makes time to work AND have 5-10 minutes of special, 1-on-1 time each day.
We really love our pets and tend to treat them like people. But how many can we have before they start becoming more like roommates than family?
Edit: Thanks for the amazing comments! A few people mentioned the question of money, and I want to say that we absolutely would never consider getting more pets if we could not afford to treat them better than we treat ourselves (including medical care!).
For anyone wondering, we have an orange tabby, a dilute calico, a buff cat (who is blind), and a black and brown tabby, and a Weimaraner.

So i was discussing TMA with my sisters and trying to convince them to listen to a few episodes with me and i ended up categorising them according to the Fears that i think would choose them as Avatars. The sister that The Hunt wants to draw her OC in accordance to this but in the style of her art persona, which is a sheep. Is that possible for an Avatar of The Hunt, to have them as prey animals or am I just thinking way to hard about this?

Warpcast: https://warpcast.com/~/channel/names Discord: https://discord.gg/DDbp6ucMBb Tier lists have always been used in gaming to rank things on an easy-to-understand basis. It is the superior way to list rank anything and has no limitations. Be creative, you can make a tier list for anything you so desire. The PNW is a beautiful place to wander! From the North Cascades to the Redwoods, we've got it all: dry desert, coastal rainforests, high alpine volcanoes, deep gorges, and old growth forests. We're here to share our photos, experiences, and stories of hiking and backpacking in the PNW.
It’s really unsurprising to have seen this happening but the tourons were out today at Sunrise (Mt Rainier) near the Frozen Lake trail junction. We watched a young woman feeding a chipmunk and the thing bit her something awful. She screamed and flew back a bit onto the trail. It all happened pretty fast and though there were a good number of other people nearby sadly nobody spoke up and tried to educate this group of five idiots. I hope this individual and her friends learned a valuable lesson. I also hope she’s seeking proper medical care. It was just unbelievably fucking stupid to see. If you know the area you also know it’s a high traffic trail junction for Sunrise day hikers and Wonderland Trail hikers. But it’s the generally unprepared tourist crowd, with easy access and lacking common sense and any obvious signs of good trail etiquette, that really gets me. Fwiw, we let a passing ranger know and provided a description of the party.
On the flip side, we crossed paths with the black bear that’s been frequenting the area where the trail out of Sunrise meets up with the Sourdough Ridge trail. It could not have been less bothered by our presence. Rangers totally know about this black bear and have been getting daily reports. Totally glad we started carrying the bear spray on the higher trafficked PNW hiking trails.
Edit: added location (Mt Rainier NP)
