Romance that doesn’t work out???

Hello! I’ve been recently searching for a certain kind of romance movie. I don’t know if there’s a specific name for this specific kind, but I’ve been looking for romance movies like Lala Land and 500 days of summer that portray a non successful romance. I’d love a few suggestions or a better way for me to find these movies! Thank you!

College romance movies with lots of teen angst

Hi all, have just finished the 'After' movies (I know, they have a terrible rep but they are my guilty pleasure!). I can't find anything else similar to move on to. I'm ideally looking for something with all the the make up/break up drama, arguments, jealousy, bad boy male lead....can be cheesy, does not have to have the best reviews!

I did find Crazy/Beautiful which I loved.

Have already tried the Twilight movies and 50 shades but was not keen.

Any ideas would be appreciated, thank you!

[Request] Recommend Me High Quality Reality Series (Non-Dating/Non-Romance)

Hi guys, I really love high quality reality series like Drink Masters (expensive production, stellar designs), Hack My Home (not just another makeover), Dream Home Makeover (I love her style), and Blown Away. Could you recommend me other reality series that aren't romance please? High quality is the keyword. I ain't gonna spend my time on low quality, tacky, cheesy reality. It could be from any genre (fashion, hobbies, interior, etc), as long as it's not romance, dating, drama.

the BEST romance movies

Okay hear me out. Modern romance movies are TERRIBLE. I’m talking post 2020: the plots are terribly designed, the script is cringe, the acting is hilarious tbh and the storyline is predictable. Especially the ones that Netflix produces. I like the shows Netflix produces but the movies are so bad I don’t bother watching them.

I need a slow burn, absolutely mind snatching romantic movie to watch where I feel captivated by the guy too😭, if that makes sense. Persuasion was a good one but I think a lot of people didn’t like it.

Anyhow, drop some suggestions!

Looking for coming of age romance teen films

Movies like the virgin suicides (this one i absolutely love), perks of being a wallflower, and the half of it. Another movie that is my all time favorite but isnt a coming of age movie is portrait of a lady on fire.

I feel like ive watched almost all of the great coming of age romance films but im definitely looking forward to see more. Any movie suggestions would be great.

Romantic movies with happy ending.

I am really in a phase where I am dying to watch some sweet romantic movies that can make me blush, laugh and cry but I am done with the sad endings or cliffhangers. I really want to watch some with happy ending. Would love some suggestions.

Any ‘I told you so’, ‘it’s too late now’, ‘I always loved you’ romantic movies?,

I feel like I do know more but I can’t think of any atm!! An example would be the notebook and the whole ‘I wrote to you for 20 years’ - kind of gut wrenching, heart breaking realization… Anyone have any more suggestions?

Any recommendations of romantic movies.

I'm in the mood for a romantic movie night and would love some recommendations. I've been through most of the popular ones like The Notebook, A Walk to Remember, and Titanic, so I’m looking for something a bit off the beaten path or maybe some hidden gems that are super underrated.

I’m open to all kinds of romances—whether it’s a tear-jerker, a feel-good story, or something with a bit of an indie vibe. I recently watched Call Me By Your Name and absolutely loved it, so anything with that kind of deep emotional connection would be perfect. Also, I’m a sucker for good character development and meaningful dialogue.

I’m also interested in international films if they have subtitles, so don’t hesitate to suggest those! For example, I’ve heard great things about a few French romances but haven’t explored that genre much yet.

Oh, and if there are any rom-coms that aren't too cheesy but genuinely funny, hit me up with those titles too. I could use a good laugh!

What are your favorite romantic movies that might not be super mainstream but are definitely worth the watch? I’m planning to make a cozy night out of this with some popcorn and a glass of wine, so let’s hear your best picks!

What are some unpredictable romance movies?

I feel like most romance movies (or just the ones I end up watching?) follow the storyline that is: meet, get to know, date, separate, and then finally really get together at the end of the film. I love a happy ending, but they always have to separate a bit or for too long, then we'll see the a few months or years later transition.. Are there some good romance movies that end with the couple happily together without that separation that you can recommend? I don't hate it, but I'm curious for movies that don't follow that. Thank you, have a nice day....

(Or maybe recommendation for a completely unpredictable movie where the main character ends up with somebody else unexpectedly?)

I’m talking, soul crushing, feel it deep in the pit of your stomach, can’t catch your breath type of romantic. The type of love story that makes you hurt and think about it for days to come.

Recommendations for impactful romantic films to watch with spouse

I am looking for some good films to watch with my husband, I posted here once before for something similar to vanilla sky but I’m also interested in any romantic films that are different, unique and particularly moving.. for example one of the first movies we watched together was Insterstellar. And I thought the romance element of that film was so strong and beautiful.

Looking forward to seeing what you folks might recommend for us :)

Thank you guys

Looking for romance films that's perfect for a broken hearted healing girl

I've been looking for romance movies that will help me have a good cry and will not make me give up completely on love because I've been feeling scared to love due to constant traumas from men. I'm a lover girl, I don't want that part of me to die.

English or non-english as long as it's available to watch for free on a website and safe for my heart to watch after all the pain. Thanks!

Hello everyone, recently I’ve started watching bridgerton and I love it so much I started it and am almost caught up already after just like two weeks. I’ve been searching around but I’m really trying to find another show that can hit the spot like this one does, especially with all the amazing romances, scandals and really fun characters.Any and all suggestions are welcome thank you. :) Also, it doesn’t have to be a period piece or anything like that.

Movies with LITTLE TO NO ROMANTIC PLOTLINES!

Going to preface by saying that I don’t have romance movies or anything. I do in fact enjoy them every once in a while. I am however sick and tired of like every single movie I watch having a useless romantic plot line. Like it could be one of those heist movies or like an end of the world type movie and it’s just thrown in there for no reason. Those aren’t really good examples but like I’m too frustrated to think straight right now! Anyways the movie could from like any genre( besides romance obviously lol) like action, comedy, horror, thriller, adventure, crime , fantasy, etc.

To be clear by “ useless romantic plot lines” I mean the ones that DO NOT benefit the plot of the movie in any way shape or form. Or if they do impact the plot it’s for such a mind numbingly dumb reason.

I want to watch a romantic comedy flim with a major plot twist, any ideas?

I genuinely enjoy watching romantic comedies however sometimes the plot doesn't live up to its expectations and the only flims with a good plot tend to be thriller or horror, I don't know what movies I can watch which contain both a good plot, and a plot twist within a romantic comedy.

Every time I see a sad movie suggestion it’s always either romance or sci-fi and I just kind of want to see something realistic and heartbreaking. It can have romance in it of course just as long as it’s not the main theme

any romantic movies that you would recommend to a person that never tried watching it?

I've never been a fan of romantic movies at all. But these past few days, I got intrigued by this genre and qould want to watch it sometimes. Any recommendations whether it would make me sad, angry, laugh, a bad ending or a happy ending. Thank you!

EDIT: Thank you all for your recommendations and also to some short explanations of the movies! I'll definitely watch it 💛

EDIT: I forgot to add, please exclude anything very explicit bcs I only want to watch something genuine and purely sfw. Sure there will be scenes for some movies but I hope it would not get half the screen time of the movie. I want something the male and female leads has this emotional and intellectual connection that is more significant or like I just want to know more about the plot. Thank you!
