How often do popular nintendo games (like zelda or mario) go on sale in the eshop How often do popular nintendo games (like zelda or mario) go on sale in the eshop
Question

Hey all, I've been thinking for a long time wheter I should buy a switch or not and I think I've finally came to a conclusion that I'll be getting it. My last "worry" so to speak is when do games like zelda or mario go on sale or do they ever go on sale. I've been thinking that the first game I would get is zelda breath of the wild and it would suck a little to buy it for full price, only for it to go on sale a week later. So does nintendo have any schedule or something that tells people when they have big sales so I'll know when the best time to buy games is?

Stupid to buy a switch lite? Stupid to buy a switch lite?
Question

So I’m a dad and rarely have time to game anymore. Between my 11 year old playing the Xbox 24/7 and my 6 year old hogging up the tv, by the time they go to bed I have no energy to game.

Thinking of picking up a switch lite to play on the coach when just lounging around! Anyone else do this? Is it worth getting?

I would barely have time to dock and play so that is why I’m thinking the lite!

Edit: Thank you all so much for all the responses! I guess I should explain that I also was looking at the Switch Lite over the OLED basically on the factor's of Switch 2 supposedly coming out next year, and the switch lite being one complete piece. I do travel for work from time to time, and I'd like to throw the device in my work bag to play on lunch breaks. Overall I think Switch Lite would be best bet for all of that!

Switch died, SD card won’t transfer data to new one Switch died, SD card won’t transfer data to new one
Question

So my Switch suddenly died, but I had the data backed up on an SD card. It had to be factory reset for the repair, so all my system data was lost. When loading up the SD card with the backed up data, it says it has to delete the SD card data since the card was formatted for a different Switch.

Is there a way to finagle the backup SD card data so that my repaired Switch will accept it? FYI, I don’t have Nintendo Online backup, so that is not a viable option.

I have tried:

Copying to PC, then copying to a new SD card (same message received that SD card needs to be deleted)

Formatting a new SD card to the repaired Switch, then copying the old data to the newly formatted SD card (data is not recognized by New Switch)

Issue with Charging Dock Issue with Charging Dock
Question

Hey all, a new charging dock was just bought for me so I could charge my Joycons (its a PowerA charging dock). i only have a switch lite and the joycons (i bought the joycons off ebay and they work great), so im only able to charge the joycons via the dock by itself. i also only have a third-party AC adapter charger thing to which i had plugged the USB of the dock in...but the dock only blinks green, then red, then it turns off right after i plug the USB in. And when i slide my joycons into the dock, the lights do not turn on to say its charging. i also tried plugging the USB into my laptop and it didnt work either. i Really need help with wondering what's wrong with it as i didn't buy the dock myself and don't wanna go through consequences, so any comments would be greatly appreciated.

Splatoon 3 Controllers Not Updating Splatoon 3 Controllers Not Updating
Discussion

I bought a switch off of e-bay and it came with the splat on 3 joy-cons. They work fine except for when they connect to Ring Fitness's Ring-con specifically. I tried to update the controllers but whenever I try to it says connection lost. I've tried having them directly connected to the switch but that isn't working either. Is there a fix for this?

Edit: The Ring-con works fine with other controllers, but my other one died so I tried using this one.

Would Super Mario 3D World (+ Bowser's Fury) on a Switch Lite have less functionality? Would Super Mario 3D World (+ Bowser's Fury) on a Switch Lite have less functionality?
Question

I don't have a Switch and I would really like to play Super Mario 3D World (had a lot of fun w/ Super Mario 3D Land on 3DS years ago), and I saw that the Switch Lite is a lot less expensive than the regular. I don't really have any experience with the Switch so I was wondering if any of you know if parts/functions of the game are inaccessible/not playable when using a Lite instead of a regular Switch. I don't care about multiplayer functionality if that makes a difference. No game spoilers please ty! :D Sorry if this is the wrong space for this question
