I'm not much of a farmer and only do the bare minimum farming in games. The type of games I like so far and why:

  • Ooblets - dance battles, music, quirky and adorable design

  • Animal Crossing - villager hunting, decorating, bug catching, fishing, relationship building

  • Roots of Pacha - mini games (esp the music), mining, riding my ostrich

  • Stardew Valley - going to the mines, fishing, relationship building, my horse

  • Potion permit - medical/health aspect, foraging, simple combat

  • Cosmic Wheel Sisterhood - designing tarot cards and aesthetics

  • Cult of the Lamb - adorable design, collecting resources, combat on easy mode

  • Dreamlight Valley - mining and foraging (the quest got tiring after a while)

My problem with all the kairo soft simulation games

Is it just me, or in games like Game Dev Story and Silver Screen just get boring once you get rich, like, you make one great movie or game, and from then on all your movies just do great because you’ve reached max and you can buy all the best stuff, like, Cafeteria Nipponica is the only game that doesn’t follow this.

Out of all the life simulation games

Out of all the life simulation games that are coming Paralive is the one I'm most looking forward too. I know each game have its own style but Paralives art style and design is just perfect for me and the most beautiful out of all the upcoming life sim, Life by you looks so bad while Inzoi is just too realistic for me just for my personal taste.

It also has the most charm compared to the other two and the fact that this is being developed by an indie studio and devs makes it amazing and worth the wait while keeping my expectations realistic. I'm just tired of big corporations ruining the passion in these games. I really want this game to succeed, they deserve every support they got and I cannot wait to pre-order it.

People that play Simulation games:

Do you all trust the “game speed” options? Ever since the first Sims game, I’ve always slowed time to regular game speed if something time sensitive was happening. I just figure in “3x” speed the simulation doesn’t ‘think’ fast enough to do necessary tasks. Am I crazy?

What I think of simulation games that are coming out!

Project Rene: Burn it to the ground, I am done with EA after how disappointing Sims 4 has been, I wish I had Sims 2 because I think that was the best sims game for me, now it’s all cash grabby & so many bugs. It just feels like EA doesn’t listen and do their own thing, so after Sims 4 I am done with Sims, EA and their stupid EA app.

Paralives: At first I thought it was a scam because it had been many years with no gameplay trailer but they finally got gameplay and a promise to early access by next year. I might not do early access since I am poor and have to choose one game to early access, but once it’s fully released and I see gameplay videos, I probably would buy it since they are a indie company that started with one person & they are Canadian! So I gotta support my fellow Canadians at some point.

Life By You: The characters look terrible, they don’t have an art direction and the game looks outdated. I had high confidence because the guy in charge worked since Sims 2 era, so it’s been a disappointment. Plus I prefer my characters to have their own language and don’t want to type all the time. So this game isn’t for me and then finding out about the subreddit, it leaves me a bad taste in my mouth and feels like they might be similar to EA with how they take their criticism.

Inzoi: This game fits my aesthetic since I was a huge kpop Stan when I was a teenager, I wanted to go to Korea when I was younger & I have been reading a lot of manhwa & Korean novels. The graphics are gorgeous! Kjun is a simmer so he has experience and this game is how he wants sims to be like. I feel like it’s a pretty positive game with Suri being supportive in the Discord server, them wanting feedback and they actually improved a bit of the game with the feedback. It just feels like we are being heard and seen, so it gives me positive feelings and I want to pay for their early access.

Vivaland: I don’t know much about this game but I heard it’s going to be multiplayer & online access which isn’t my thing.

There’s probably more like the 1st person camera view (forgot the name) but I’m not into that & there was another one a few years ago but it was probably a scam because it never got updated with trailers or any news.

What Labor Simulation Games Tell Us About Labor

Games like Power Wash Simulator or Lawn Mower Simulator have been growing in popularity recently. These games don't try to hide the true lengths of effort necessary in order to complete a task, which, on all accounts, should make them boring, pointless games. However, their ever increasing populatity sheds some light on something that capitalism has neglected (or refuses to acknowledge). That thing being, that people are perfectly happy performing menial tasks and may even find them enjoyable. So why aren't people flocking in droves to perform these menial tasks for pay, when they're perfectly happy doing them in a simulation? My opinion: because in the simulator, they're free of unnecessary discomforts that are parallel to the tasks performed. If businesses would strive to reduce discomfort at all costs, then productivity would skyrocket. However, part of capitalism seems to be focused less on efficiency, but breaking the human spirit for power and control.

TL;DR, people's willingness to do a task, and their enjoyment of it, is inversely related to the level of discomfort associated with it. So, fuck your "unprofessionalism;" needless discomfort just breeds misery and sucks the joy out of doing work.

Pixel games that aren’t platformers/shooting games? Job simulation games?

I’m on a constant search for games. I’ve found that I LOVEEEE pixel games. I can’t escape them now. I just don’t like games that are shooter focused. Many posts like this one only focus on shooter games or farming sims.

Some of my favorite games are:

• Dungeons of Dreadrock •The Escapists 2 •Beat Cop •Pixel Cafe •Baba is You •Unpacking •Good Pizza Great Pizza (not pixel but I LOVE it…but they haven’t put any DLC on the eshop:/…)

I’ve been suggested things like Stardew Valley, but that’s not quite what I’m looking for.

My friends often tease me because the games I like are kind of like jobs lol.

I would love to find something similar to Beat Cop specifically. I love the tasks and the concept of the whole thing.

My dream is a pixel supermarket game, with a bunch of aspects and mini games to mimic a real store. Also the eye candy of course.

Anyone have any suggestions? If it’s similar to what I’m looking for, but isn’t a pixel game, that’s fine as long as the art isn’t ugly.

Simulation games with focus on collecting things?

My favorite part about Animal Crossing is collecting insects and fish and my favorite part about playing Sims 4 is looking for collectibles! My collector Sim recently died lmao so I would like to find another game that doesn't stress me out, but is still challenging.

So, what are other simulation games that focuses mostly on collecting things? Preferably nature-y things.

ETA: not into farming :)
