Todays podcast episode

It’s clear bri does not keep up with graces life or content. Grace had to overexplain almost everything she referenced, since Bri didn’t watch any of it. The least you could do to prepare for this podcast is stay current on each other content. The production value has significantly declined along with the content value. It’s frustrating as a listener. I feel bad for Grace. Even their plan Bri team noticed it during the pod and all called Bri out for it.

And also Bri kept bringing up stuff and having a hot take and trying to get Grace to ride that wave with her. I’m glad Grace is able to stick up for herself and not just go along with what she is saying.

I had to skip the first 15 minutes so I could listen to graces recap, I’m so over bcf’s stories

Disappointed in another podcast...

CW: tired fatphobia in (to me) an unexpected place.

I listen to the podcast "The Sporkful" pretty regularly. This week, the topic, "Why Does Gluttony Get Such a Bad Rap?" interested me. It was actually a preview of a different podcast but I was still in so I started.

The premise is that one of the hosts was called a glutton and didn't think that was bad. He started talking about the virtues of really enjoying food and how Thomas Aquinas came up with like 5 different ways you could commit this "sin." It was so interesting... until he started to issue caveats about the alleged giant impacts of O on healthcare costs and just went on and on about how bad it is and how palatable food is and how food manufacturers are freaking out about GLP-1 antagonists reducing the desire for tons of food but that won't get rid of fatness and blah blah.

So I looked him up and of course he's straight-sized. I never heard more of his defense of gluttony (which, again, seemed to be mostly headed in the direction of not feeling guilty about loving and enjoying food and not justifying continual binging as a lifestyle) because he took too long with his lame, worn-out counter-argument/plausible deniability, etc. What I have to assume he means is that you're free to enjoy food and indulge as long as you're not fat. Boo.

Clues from Podcast

Here are all the clues I picked up from the podcast. Italicized clues are inferences and should not be taken as gospel.

  • Trail is searchable in regards to whether or not dogs are allowed

  • Treasure is concealed but not buried - difficult as a couple hand swipes to uncover

  • They talk about parking - so is there a parking lot or at least street parking nearby.

  • First line is not a throwaway line

  • There’s a reason it is in Spanish other than the goonies

  • It’s choir, not chorus

  • Shadow, not shade - probably

  • Instead of forward, they picked “straight” – derecho.

  • “The view” line - last line, most misunderstood. People go to places with good views without the first parts solved.

  • Lines are in order

  • Math probably not important, history important

  • It’s likely a trail with foliage, they were able to hide themselves near the treasure. A story is told where someone walks within 15' of them while they are hiding the treasure and they are able to conceal themselves.

  • “He” is in Road to El Dorado - he is Cortez.

  • The line about the Choir does not refer to MoTab

Monetizing a Podcast is HARD

My career is in podcast production and marketing. I’ll tell you, it’s really hard for a podcast to make money without an entire media ecosystem revolving around it.

I think the NFL was shortsighted by not pouring in enough resource around the potential of ATN, but I can also see why this podcast no longer become viable for them to keep as it was.

When a podcast is a branch from a company instead of a product it invests in, it costs way more than it brings in.

Having Gregg stay on to wear multiple hats makes sense. It justifies his paycheck more to be the single host as well as contributing to other NFL IP.

My sincere hope is that Dan and Marc can actually build a podcast in a way that it can thrive and support their family’s. There’s for sure a path. Actually, I would say it’s a way more realistic path than if they stayed on (if done correctly).

Do any of y'all read the Podcast Guide?

/rant

Every day I see these mundane posts like, "does my podcast need to be a video to get attention?" "Do I need good equipment?" "Anyone else use [specific piece of equipment]? I can't get mine to work." What do you guys think of my podcast idea where my friends and I gab for two hours?" Bro, this sub has a comprehensive wiki with threads and articles that can teach you just about everything you need to know about getting a podcast started. But every day I see these basic questions...

/end rant

To be clear, I have a feeling I'm seeing a vocal minority of people that are just ignorant about the wiki. If you're one of the people I just mentioned, I don't begrudge you seeking help. Just please go check out the wiki first. If you have questions or need clarification about something in the wiki, please ask.

  • we don't forbid anyone anything

  • (talking about the Unheard incident) people were tired of the game being too difficult so they needed to let off their steam on someone

  • our community is very nice and very problematic at the same time

  • i think we will add mod support for pve because there are already a lot of mods for "stolen" tarkov, not the actual eft, but disassembled single player version of it

I got those only by going through youtube time marks, took me about 10 minutes. Don't have a mood to listen all the 83 minutes. General election Uncensored podcast

I've really enjoyed watching the uncensored podcast.

The way I which nearly every policy was misinterpreted was actually quite amazing.

To give credit to the big man, he seemed to be the one who got closest to understanding, and then was talked around.

But my reason for the post is to ask, what was everyone's favorite bit?

Mine was where Kay thought 30 hours a week free childcare meant someone was working for free.

"Sidetracked" Podcast Mentions a BTS Lilah Interaction...

I'm a listener of the podcast Samantha Jo and Andrew TMI have together- shout out Sidetracked!! In their recent episode they started talking about the Lilah wedding drama and then they dive into a time where they witnessed Lilah and Ari (of course) acting like entitled brats. ~Allegedly~ Lilah was flipping out and playing the "do you know who I am card" to security guards who were just doing their job at some event (starts around the 52:30 mark). Apparently everyone witnessing was just like "umm wtf". Sidenote: they always praise Tana and how kind she's been every time they've interacted (queen shit).. apparently she even apologized to the security guard after this incident. It would be exhausting to have friends you constantly have to clean up after omg...

Must listen podcast episode: Russ Joy Show

Highly recommend listening to todays episode of the Russ Joy show. No matter your opinion of the "correct" way to protest and voice displeasure with the current state of investment in the team - I think this was a fantastic representation of the current state of affairs and opens a dialogue between supporters. Also, it is just nice to see the Union get any sort of publicity in somewhat of the main stream media.
