I'd had a CD get destroyed by a CD player in my computer spinning too fast before I saw an episode about it.
so watching 2005, and watched duct tape bridge and you can see they have found their look and it was very polished.
the video shooting style was nicer, even the colors didnt have the hideous yellow/amber cast it had a few seasons back
im guessing also going HD made a difference.
really enjoying the newer ones.
I was curious, I see ballistic gel wrapped skulls being hit by bullets all the time. Is there a slo-motion shot of what would happen to a ballistic gel ear attached to a ballistic gel covered skull being hit by a .223 caliber or similar bullet?
Watching a bunch of this (again) on YouTube and wondering why such a great show was cancelled/ended?
Has anyone seen ? I had trouble remembering Frank's name and stumbled across his wiki page. It has some of the most unhinged drivel I've ever read. It's like a bad AI was trained to be a troll then went on a trip while writing. It's complete with made up stories like a boiling oil incident where, supposedly, Adam and Jamie dumped boiling oil on him while laughing. Whoever edited it even went so far as to edit several images. The sheer lunacy of it all drove me to post here. When you see something this crazy you just have to point it out to other people, if for no other reason than to make sure you're not crazy.
Hi MythBusters I love show any ways can please use drink for car fuel
So the myth " two-wheel wipeout" involves driving a car onto a ramp and drive it on only two wheels.
Jamie gives it a go with an expert driving stuntman and has the car slam down hard, hitting his head and losing his hat. Besides the harness and maybe a roll cage? there's no safety gear like a neck brace or Helmet.
Jamie then states that he's not going to continue due to hurting his neck and not wanting to prevent further injuries.
Adam then comes on screen , mentions that it's rare for Jamie to do that and states that its serious and dangerous for them to be doing this.
Adam then gets in the car , not putting any more safety on to prevent possible injuries.
At the end of the episode, Adam flips the car on its roof and its treated as light hearted.
So my question is why no safety?
I noticed also, in this episode that it was more...actiony? Like dumbed down, flashy etc
The editing for the other myths (wanted Corvette ramp jump) was flashy instead of the usual slow motion.
We didn't even get the build team sitting down at the computer to measure how high it flew , analyse the crash etc
It was a lot of "wow, cool, awesome, Angelina Jolie"
They also seemed to skip over the prepping, sure we saw a little montage of adam laying out the cones for their track.
But the ramp for two wheel myth just appears and hand waved away, not even getting a clip of them building it.
The ramp for Wanted car jump was briefly shown putting together, but it was also a lot of just "telling not showing"
The reason I bring this all up is that it might be related to the original question, as in was the crash (both jamie and Adams) faked/scripted for "Drama"
I know Mythbusters is scripted, and you can tell it got more like that as the seasons went on.
But I've also seen Mythbusters take safety pretty seriously, all of it seems odd to just see Jamie hurt himself and then Adam not put on at least a helmet.
Thoughts?
So my wife and I loved watching mb and as life moves on the way it does we had kiddos and we found mythbusters jr. And omg did our littles love it, it engaged them with kids and the fun and being able to think about the “what would happen if?!?!” I would absolutely love to see more mythbusters jr. And really do feel as if it has a place in this point in time that would pull kids and families back to the love of the “what if’s” and imagination that spurs curiosity.
He did a good job, shame he didn't have a bigger part
curious if he buys stock like 20 shirts all the same brand or different brands? I never saw a closeup of the collar but curious if the collar has buttons at the end to hold it taught to the shirt?
and was it planned for a long time to make the show. how much time from when it was brought up to the first show?
maybe jamie wasnt into doing anything. kind of went silent after mb but the other 4 could have build an fx company together.
they could have grown it through SM/YT, bruild a bigger team and just oversee. something like ILM.
Anyone know I can watch ALL the episodes
So I'm sick and bi ge watching. In the pain episode where they had to write 5 words to use instead of swear words. He slightly turns the board, and you see "SUNITZEL"!
Is there any place that I can purchase the mythbusters DVDs? Whether it be online or somewhere that I can just keep my eye out? I watched MythBusters back on Discovery when I was like 15 and I honestly loved it. Right now I have collection one and collection two for DVD.
I'm sorry I couldn't find any images
Big fan of the show! (Especially jamie hyneman)
So I used to watch Mythbusters years ago and last month I decided to binge watch every seasons. The problem is I now find Kari insufferable, it was alright the first few seasons when Scottie was there but now I honestly skip every segments of the build team and just watch Jamie and Adam.
Am I the only one who dislike Kari?
I’m under the weather and watching Mythbusters as some comfort viewing. I’m watching S5 E20. It’s the one with “can you light a trail of gasoline leaking from a car and have it catch up and blow the tank” and “can you outrun and kick out lit gunpowder before it gets to the keg.”
JD shows up to help the guys at the bomb range and I don’t know why I didn’t notice before this moment but the man looks huge. Jamie and Adam look like tweens standing next to him.
I can’t find any info online about his height. Adam is 5’11”, how tall do you recon JD is?
I'm rewatching the series for the first time since it was on. We just got to the Green Hornet episode, and Seth Rogen comes off as a fun guy, and the "movie myths" are kind of fun, although obviously "comic book cool" instead of even a bit realistic.
But I remember that when I first saw this episode, I hadn't seen the movie...so we rented it the next week.
OMG! YUCK. Terrible. One of the worst movies I'd seen in years. It gave us a new rule: "No more Seth Rogen movies."
