My experience at The Eras Tour as a diehard Beyoncé fan

As the title suggests, I am personally a huge Beyoncé fan and have been to all her stadium tours so far. Apart from Beyoncé, I honestly do not visit many other concerts. However, as Taylor was coming into town, I decided to give her a shot.

I have never really been a Taylor fan but I do love some her songs like cruel summer and look what you made me do. As someone who regularly watches and goes to Beyoncé concerts, it somehow also seemed to influence my expectations of what a stadium tour should be.

But I decided to just give Taylor a chance and bought tickets to see a show recently. Before the show started, I was really surprised by how nice everyone was. Someone made me a friendship bracelet and the general mood was quite friendly.

Then, the show started. In the beginning, I was kind of underwhelmed. This is mostly due to the fact that I was expecting Taylor to belt out impressive notes and do some heavy choreo, which never really came.

However, as the show went on, I started to notice the theatrical elements more and more. I also loved how Taylor seemed to connect much more with the crowd, which is something that Beyonce for instance rarely does.

I started to love the storytelling element of the Eras Tour and slowly I came to understand that I should not be comparing this to other artists. Taylor has her own style and while it may not include impressive vocals or choreo, the theatrical element is already worth checking out!

There were some standout moments, but I also wish there were less ''slow songs'' as those seemed to drag on for a bit too long for my liking.

Throughout the performance, I could see that Taylor's approach was to be relatable, to be able to connect with her fans. It did not feel like she was presenting herself as a celebrity, but more like a friend, which I liked. Of course, with artists like Beyoncé, there is a bit more distance between the crowd and the artist as in her case, she is presenting herself more like a ''goddess'' on stage with amazing choreo, looks, vocals etc., which is also of course very cool but a different experience.

Overall, I was pleasantly surprised with the Eras Tour and glad that I went! When it comes to comparing Beyonce and Taylor, in my opinion this is a pointless comparison. Both artists provide you with a VERY different experience and there is plenty room in the music industry for both. The more variety, the better, right? :)
