The Day I Accidentally Baked My Apple Watch
The aftermath

Don’t shame me, please; I already feel terrible. I got my Apple Watch 9 in May and LOVED it. Yesterday, I took it off to prep some food, placing it next to the metal baking tray. I think what happened was that as I was lifting the tray to put it in the oven, the magnet from either the watch itself or my Milanese strap got stuck to the tray. When I placed the tray in the oven, it lay perfectly flat because the watch was between two racks.

It took me ten minutes to realize something was wrong when I heard a mini explosion coming from my oven. I was wrecked. It was super stressful because the battery had inflated and started smoking. I quickly put the watch in the cat litter and called the firefighters. They told me I avoided a disaster by putting it in the sand.

I’m so sad because it’s such a stupid thing to happen, but I’m grateful that it didn’t escalate. I got the watch through my mobile carrier, so I’ll need to pay it off for the next 22 months. Fun.

Moral of the story: Always double-check your baking trays before putting them in the oven or where your watch is :)

A year ago, who could have imagined that "the ability to adjust the volume" was a feature we took for granted?

My wife comes running into the room asking me to turn the volume down, and now I just say "Sonos" as shorthand for "I turned it down already, so the system should respond in anywhere from 5-50 seconds, if it does"

I wish that one company could make a TV just as monitor..

I believe there’s market for a TV that only excels in picture quality with minimum connectivity, without all that horrible smart OS crap (we’ve got Apple TV or Android box)!

Most most importantly, a TV without horrible speakers! just plain nothing! We spent thousands on an audio setup anyways!!

Many may say, then get a projector. However not everyone can afford to have a dedicated room with a projector. I also enjoy to watch random things on TV in daylight too!

Why can’t we just get a 100”monitor with really good picture quality, without comprises!? Will this be possible one day?
