Ever wondered what font a website is using?

Introducing fondant – a simple Chrome extension for designers, web developers, and font enthusiasts.

With fondant, you can hover over any text on a webpage to instantly see its font. If you like a font, just click to get options for downloading it.

Here's how to use it directly from GitHub:

Clone/Download the Repo:

  1. Go to the GitHub repo: GitHub - fondant

  2. Clone it using git clone https://github.com/ribhavsharma/fondant.git

Load the Extension:

  1. Open Chrome and go to chrome://extensions/

  2. Enable "Developer mode" (toggle it on in the top right corner)

  3. Click "Load unpacked" and select the fondant directory you just cloned

Activate It:

  1. Pin the extension to your Chrome toolbar for easy access

  2. Click the extension icon and select "Enable Tooltip"

Hover & Discover:

  • Move your mouse over any text to see the font

  • Click the popup, search, and download the font
