Of course we all knew how good at PvP was Coldified but even though we got last on Buildmart and 5th on Railroad Rush, he managed to get first indiv. I think he deserves congratulations ❤️

Contratz to Wolfeii as well because he could get first if indiv points were recounted on BM IRL? I read that on another post!

Congrats to both anyways, they both did crazy and that deserved a proper post about it.

IRL Build Mart Controversy Explained (To the best of my knowledge)

IRL Build Mart Controversy Explained (To the best of my knowledge)

Hey, I've seen some confusion about what actually happened in build mart, so I've TRIED MY BEST to explain exactly what happened. I was watching 5up during the event, who was the one talking to the organisers the most, so this is what I gathered and I believe happened. I haven't researched it too much, so if I got anything wrong please correct me. Here we go:

The first 5 teams to play IRL BM (The top 5 at the time) had a timer that counted down from 10 minutes towards zero. Cyan, for example, finished with about 6:30 left, giving them a time of 3:30. The referees misunderstood this and wrote down Cyan's time originally as 6:30.

The second 5 teams to play had a timer counting up, with Aqua for example finishing at 3:40, so it was originally thought that aqua had won. Cyan ended up in 6th place despite actually finishing first.

The times were fixed afterwards to what actually happened. This means Cyan was 1st, Aqua was 2nd, and there was a few other teams close behind.

HOWEVER, due to 1 or 2(?) of the bikes used being broken, some of the teams had 30 seconds of their time removed from the total. This included 2 of the teams that finished just behind cyan. After the times were adjusted for broken bikes (already a controversial decision), 2 teams were still ahead of cyan as well as aqua.

So, when the scores were adjusted after build mart, cyan was put ahead of 2 of the teams into 4th, and scores were properly adjusted. However, they were left behind the other 2 teams which were ahead due to broken bikes. The issue is, they failed to realise that aqua did not have a broken bike either, so aqua was left in 1st when they should have been 4th, behind cyan in 3rd. Aqua should have got much fewer points and cyan a bit more, even if you allow the bonus for broken bikes.

If I got all that right, that's why there was so much controversy about build mart. Some people think the bikes shouldn't have mattered and cyan got 1st, but even so they should have got 3rd rather than 4th. INDIVIDUAL scores were also not adjusted afterwards, only team scores, so all of cyan placed lower individually than they should have. Wolfeei would've been tied 3rd if individuals were adjusted, or FIRST if cyan had been in 1st for build mart originally.

Edits: fixing some facts

Note: I'm not sure which teams had the broken bikes, and if anything was wrong or adjusted besides aqua and cyan - since I was watching cyan, that's what I know about. I remember the mods just saying in chat "+600 coins cyan, -300 coins (two other teams)

With the correct IRL Build Mart scoring, Wolfeei would've been first individual

With the correct IRL Build Mart scoring, Wolfeei would've been first individual

In the event, depite Cyan having the fastest completion time, 3:30 (compared to aqua's ~3:40) they got the points for 6th place. The admins then gave the team +600 points to only team, not indiv. If Cyan would've gotten the correct points for first, they would've gotten 2300 more team points, or 287.5 more points individually for everyone on the team. Which would give Wolfeei 2518 individual points, 41 ahead of Coldi. 5up would've gotten 8th with 2147, Jeremy would've gotten 13th with 1780, and Sniff would've gotten 27th with 1250. The team would've gotten 1st with 16056 points.

Noah Appreciation Thread

Despite getting bullied both by fans and inside team as we saw in Legends In Action he took a team that was last place in LEC to season finals and MSI. He is regularly gapping every LEC bot lane without help from Razork in that since Razork mostly ganks Oscar and covers for Humanoid.

You had one bad tournament in MSI and everybody made you the scapegoat but real Fnatic fans believe love and appreciate you Noah. I hope you read this. This is not your fault at slightest. You are just a victim of LEC narrative of trying to make a superstar out of a subpar player like Humanoid so you get the blame for his shortcomings

Crazy event with lots of crazy teams and plays. But I just wanna point out how well purple did. First in the event, without anyone of the players playing before, is just so cool. They destroyed most of the predictions and they did BastiGHG so proud I guess🫡.

Especially first in Rocket Spleef is crazy. GG to all the players.

Surely, Couriway set a record there right?

Right off the bat (dare I say, the blue bat no pun intended) on the first game, Couriway wiped all of Aqua in 48 (I repeat) 48 seconds into Survival Games. Surely that's a record for the quickest team-wipe ever, right? The first border didn't even have time to shrink before Blue just jumped Aqua, bless their hearts

What makes tanking unfun to you?

Tanking has been a hot topic in the community lately, with less people queuing for the role, and a part of the community advocating for the return of 2 tanks in role queue. Within this discussion, I've seen a recurring argument that tanking in OW2 is unfun to play. "Fun" is a very subjective term, so I'd love to get some opinions on what exactly makes the role currently unfun to play from your perspectives.

Personally, I can mostly still find fun in playing tank, but there are many moments during matches where the "unfun" parts kick in. Some of the reasons I think these moments happen are:

  • Tanks are too dependent on coordinating with the dps and supports, and lack the tools to help in doing so (like a hud showing the teammates health/location/status);

  • Some tanks get easier value when countering others (Rein vs Zarya, Zarya vs Dva, Orisa vs Doom, ...), making it hard to stay with your preferred tank for the whole match;

  • Some abilities and weapons get easier value when focused on tanks, like discord, bio nade, ice wall, Bastion's turret form or Mauga's double chainguns. So, when a tank is carrying, the enemy team will start switching to tank-busting heroes.

So, in your experience, what makes the tank role not fun to play?
