Alonzo Mourning or Robert Parish: Who would you want as your starting center?

So me and some friends are putting together some lineups and a large majority of the best centers I was unable to choose but I was fortunate enough to nab Alonzo Mourning and Robert Parish in my lineup. Now the team I have built around them consists primarily of shooters and I’m wondering which would work well in a system where they are not the primary offensive number 1 option. Of course they would rotate being the defensive anchor but which of the two would work better with that kind of team around them? I feel like with Parish being the better passer, relative rebounder and defender I might give him the edge? But let me know what you think. Edit: I also feel the need to include that longevity is not taken into account in this question. It’s strictly just the 2 at their best going against other all-time great centers at their best.

Patrick Ewing has offered to donate one of his kidneys to Alonzo Mourning if the ailing Miami Heat center ever needs a transplant.

"You know I will always be there for him," Ewing said. "If my kidney matches, I'll be happy to donate one. If it comes down to that. He knows that."

Mourning has a common but serious kidney disease that is forcing him to miss this season. It is not yet known whether he will need a kidney transplant.

Ewing and Mourning both played at Georgetown and remain close friends despite their fierce NBA battles. They work out together during the off-season, and Ewing is the godfather to Mourning's newborn daughter, Myka Sydney.

In 2003, Ewing underwent testing when Zo did need a kidney, but wasn't a match. Mourning was set to retire due to his condition, but ultimately received a kidney from a cousin he hadn't seen in 25 years. He went on to play in the NBA for six more seasons.

On November 25, 2003, Mourning's cousin and a retired U. S. Marine, Jason Cooper, was visiting Mourning's gravely ill grandmother in the hospital. Mourning's father was present and informed Cooper that Mourning was retiring that day from the NBA because of a life-threatening kidney disease, focal segmental glomerulosclerosis, the same problem that Sean Elliott had in 1999. Cooper asked if there was anything he could do, and began to contemplate donating one of his kidneys to his estranged cousin, whom he had not seen in 25 years and whom he only knew through basketball. Cooper was tested for compatibility, along with many other family members and friends (including fellow NBA center and good friend Patrick Ewing); during his grandmother's funeral, Mourning received the news that Jason Cooper was a match.

Mourning received Cooper's left kidney on December 19, 2003.[

When I was a boy watching hoop in the 90's it seemed like NBA players were these demigod figures. Big, square jaw having beastly figures.

Just look at David Robinson or Karl Malone etc...

Players today dont appear that way to me anymore. A lot of them look like kids. Even somebody like Giannis as big as he is just seems like a babyface. Same for somebody like Durant, Curry, etc.

So... What players in todays league carry that grown ass man looking mantle?

May I start with:

Bobby Portis

[Tobin] Jimmy Butler on Alonzo Mourning calling him his hero: I think that was a spur of the moment, I ain't nobody's hero. I'm just a decent basketball player that's so fortunate to put on a Heat uniform and compete with these teammates and those historic players and HOFers we've had.

NBA Hall of Famer Alonzo Mourning Treated For Prostate Cancer

https://www.espn.com/nba/story/_/id/40269901/alonzo-mourning-had-prostate-removed-urges-checks-men

Naismith Basketball Hall of Fame center Alonzo Mourning underwent surgery to remove his prostate after a diagnosis of Stage 3 prostate cancer, Mourning told ESPN.

Additional testing revealed that the cancer did not spread beyond his prostate capsule, and his mid-March procedure has left him cancer-free.

In an interview with ESPN, Mourning -- a seven-time All-Star, NBA champion and Olympic gold medalist in his 15-year career -- described how routine prostate cancer screening played an enormous role in the discovery and treatment of a cancer form that kills 1 in 44 men in the United States, according to the American Cancer Society. Those statistics and his own experiences have made Mourning, 54, determined to be an advocate for at-risk men 45 years and older to get regular PSA (prostate-specific antigen) blood tests to monitor themselves for the cancer. At-risk candidates include Black men and those with a history of prostate cancer in their family. Most men can start screening at 50 years old.
