At the recommendation of people hear, I’ve dipped my toe into the Cerebro podcast. On a current episode, the two hosts said Al Ewing is the best current writer. I want to be clear, that I’m very aware different people have different tastes and there is no correct answer. That said, how do you all feel? I find most of his work adequate, so the comment surprised me. I made a mental list and am pretty surprised to hear him as the best. Do you love him? What series do you love?

What more can be said? It's a bittersweet finale, for sure, but it was an amazing project to work on, and every single creator involved, at every stage of the Krakoan odyssey, put their heart and soul into making magic. (And maybe one day, when the bodies are buried, I'll tell you about the blood, sweat and tears we put in, too - right up to the end.)
I was about to say that Jonathan Hickman's original vision in building that writer's room, and giving us the levels of freedom to tell new stories that he did, feels almost impossible to recreate now... but then I remembered that I've got to grab the new Ultimates #1 today, so I guess it's not. I bet if I listened in on that particular inner circle, it'd have a very familiar vibe. And speaking of good vibes, I just joined a new writer's room myself that's as far away as you can get from the Krakoan shores but carries a similar crackling creative energy... however, we serve no wine before its time. More about that soon enough.

Catching up on Al Ewing. Does anyone else read Al Ewing experience the same journey? My journey is... "Okay, weird deep cut characters", "this is nonsense", "where is this nonsense going?", "what a cool story, that was awesome!".
The line up seems interesting: Doctor Strange, Silver Surfer, Red Harpy and idk the other two tbh.
Is the story worth it, cause it looks like it has potential?

I’ve always loved Storm. Jean was number one in my heart, but Storm was next. Storm is the goddess. We got to watch her become her role more and more as time went on. Storm’s power have grown to ridiculous levels, and so has her character. In my head, she’s perfect and regal and will always find a way to win without breaking her rules.
A lot of people don’t like how OP Storm is in Al Ewing books and I get it. Storm has just got win after win after win after win, all the whole getting more powerful. I get why some people don’t want that. And that’s cool. But I’m fucking here for it.
I love to see Storm beat everything and I love it because she shows just how great she is as a character every time. She wrestles with her role and who she is, but she stays the course. I feel Ewing is able to capture the all-powerful Storm and Ororo in a way that makes the books work for me.
So, I get the complaints and I’m not saying you’re wrong, but it just fucking works for me.
