I don’t need much convincing…

I’m a father of a 3 year old.. since he was born I’ve booted up my gaming pc about the same amount of times as his age. I still have my gaming PC which was cutting edge 3 years ago with a 3080ti. My steam library is massive probably 700+ games that are just sitting there in digital space collecting digital dust lol… I do have some time now after little man goes to bed he finally sleeps through the night.. but sitting at my desk is the last thing I want to do (software engineer by trade). I’ve never been a controller person, keyboard and mouse are like extensions of my body lol. Is the steam deck pretty easy to get used to? Is it ‘worth it’ overall for someone like me? Anyone like me out there? Will I end up returning it in a week!?

Astral Chain is underrated as hell

For those who doesn't know what it is, it's an action game created by Platinum Games (the same developers that made Bayonetta and Wonderful 101). I went into it without the highest expectations, since I saw nobody talking about it, but wow what a game that was. The combat is fast and feels fluid, the characters are lovable and great, and the character customization, while a bit limited in some areas, does good on what it wants to be.

The game also looks great, and I'd argue it's one of the best looking games on the Switch. The only downside is the locked 30 fps, but it's not a big deal when it still runs great. So all in all, if you like fast paced combat and a great setting, give this game a shot, you won't regret it. :)

My Steam Deck made me more aware of shitty practices by publishers/developers

I used to only play games on my desktop pc. So stuff like always online or additional launchers did not annoy me or i did not even notice them. On my Steam Deck this makes some games unplayable for me and i hate it.

Anything that uses Ubisoft connect i just do not play anymore as i don't want to log in every time. Why does it not safe my login? I know there is a way to make Ubisoft connect go into an offline mode. But they made it very hard to achieve that an every couple of weeks you have to repeat the process. I hate that as AC Black flag is great on the steam deck otherwise (Besides the cloud safes not working).

And then there is Shadow of War. A game i also really like but it needs an Internet connection to be played. Just why?
Why can i not play this single player game on the go?

Do you have any games that would be great on the Steam Deck but are unplayable because of stuff like this?
