Last night’s debate just shows how bad our presidential candidates are now
r/millenials

Millenials - the generation growing up near 2000 and grown up no later than 2020. If you can't remember bittorrent, wikileaks, George W. Bush, Dick Cheney, or Barack Obama, you're not a millenial. You don't have to remember myspace. Yes, a millenial is a millennial and neither are recognized as a noun, only as an adjective, so both are not even a word.

Even as a conservative, I do NOT want Trump in office. Dude is old, an asshole and all he talks about is how great he is. And Biden is just sick. Dude is NOT mentally there.

Half the time he doesn’t know what he’s talking about and doesn’t remember where he is. And of course Trump tried to capitalize on that last night with a few comments.

Like why is our government still filled with so many old people. And if you think I’m just being a “right wing conservative, I hate some of the republicans too. Just look at Mitch McConnell. Dude basically had 2 strokes on camera!! Why is he still in office??

Like we have 120 million people in the US older than 35 years old. We can find TWO fucking people younger and better for the democrats and republicans? Like come on. We can’t find 100 people in the senate that aren’t old and senile??

Is it okay to ask my girlfriend not to wear revealing clothing if she does the same for me?

My girlfriend and I are both 19 and have been together for over a year. Before we got together she said she used to wear clothes that brought her attention, but the funny thing is that she still wears these same clothes she's referring to. Now I don't have a problem with some things but often times she will wear a very low cut top out to the store (one that I feel should be used as an undershirt) and if you're taller than her you can literally look down and see her boobs almost. Even her mom and brother where like "you're really gonna go out wearing that?"

She asked me not to wear grey sweatpants and ever since she did I stopped...would it not be fair for me to ask the same of her wearing low cut tops?

Edit: also before you use the argument that her revealing clothes are likely what attracted me to her in the first place, they're not, the night we met she was wearing a baggy t shirt and blue jeans

We need to start running for Local Offices yesterday.

I feel pretty fucking angry after last night. I voted for Obama, campaigned for Bernie, voted for Hillary, and voted for Biden.

How could the people surrounding Biden over his presidency not see the steep decline and think that debate was a good idea? I am a never Trumper, but I can clearly see why people are not going to vote…

Guys, I will start up websites, work on graphics, photograph, take video for or market for anyone our age at this point willing to run for anything.

I am currently looking at the requirements for city council for my community and am considering running or finding someone and help run their campaign.

I am so sick of seeing the same old fucks getting wheeled out year after year.

I feel like I am shouting into the void thinking at the local level but it feels like doing something

EDIT: Thank you u/ArcanePsyce

I cant stand this. I get to choose between two people older than my grandparents? Id rather vote for an actual corpse. Jesus christ. What a joke of a country. I just want a mid 40s president who would try and make healthcare cheaper, is that too much??

Edit: This genuinly feels like i get to choose one disease to live with for the rest of my life. None of them are good options... id also like to add. We all know Trump is the worse option, i just wish there was an actually good option. Maybe even a candidate who supports social services and doesnt bomb kids overseas.

Man fuck the DNC. To be clear, fuck Trump too, but the debate was EMBARRASSING for Biden. Literally they both had low bars; Trump to not sound like a complete moron or jackass...which he failed at, and Biden to not look like a shambling corpse waiting to die....which he also failed at. But guess what? All the moderates and undecided are going to think Trump LOOKED stronger. Which, for undecided voters, is all that matters. This debate backfired hardcore against Biden, and is the DNC going to re-group, re-strategize and think "Hey, maybe we need to get Biden off the ticket...maybe he is too old"?

NOPE. They're going to keep his doddering old ass on the ticket when he looked and sounded senile, sick, and inches away from the graveyard, and they're going to lose. And when Trump re-takes the white house in 2025 we should all be FURIOUS that the DNC allowed this. This should not even be a contest given Trump's track record, but the DNC is going to snatch defeat from the jaws of victory.

We should all be shaking our heads at what happened last night. Two old men who probably shouldn't even be allowed to drive, stumbling, wandering, and muttering incoherent nonsense on their way to the most powerful position in the world. Well I've had enough. I'm done. After this election, I'm no longer voting for anyone who's older the age of 65 on principle.

Biden and Trump aren't even Boomers...they're the Silent Generation. Boomers, on principle (not attitude) probably have a few years before they get to where the Silent Generation is now. But either way, they should be grooming Gen X and Millenial candidates to get ready to take their spots, and step aside peacefully. That's how systems are set up to last across generations. Here we have a handful of old privileged people squabbling for their personal power regardless of what the country needs.

It's sickening. Anyways, curious to see what other millenials (and Gen Xers) take on this is.

Honest question/not looking to upset people: With everything we've seen and learned over our 30-40 years, and with the housing crisis, why do so many women still choose to spend everything on IVF instead of fostering or adopting? Plus the mental and physical costs to the woman...

I swear I'm not a troll and I'm not looking for drama. I honestly want to understand bc I even know someone who is bankrupting themselves over this and refuses to actually talk about it. She always just says it's her right to have her own child, but that doesn't make sense and she gets really upset if I ask her to explain how it's a "right". I wonder if it's just the word she and others use, but I've never had a convo go that far.

My isolated community in SE Alaska has lots of children needing homes and plenty more up on the road system. Even though I'm childfree and will soon be on disability, my partner and I have decided to foster teens aging out of the system- the ones everyone ignores. These kids get thrown out on their own with nothing but a trash bag. Sometimes they don't even have birth certificates. And then I see them in the shelter bc they don't even know how to get a bank account or apply for a job. All they need is a little care and guidance to give them a fighting chance. And isn't that what every parent wants- regardless of the child's dna?

Eta: Oh my gosh some of these are the best responses I've ever heard! For both sides! I was trying to reply to everyone but I can't keep up! I promise to read everything later. Thanks so much ♡
