Alec Dawson wasn’t kidding — Pink Mercy’s return has caused Mercy’s pickrate to skyrocket

In his interview with Spilo yesterday Alec Dawson stated that Mercy saw a decent boost in pick rate after the last patch, largely due to the re-release of the Pink Mercy skin. Looking at her pickrates on Overbuff though, this might actually be an understatement.

Here is Mercy’s average pick rate over the last 6 months:

  • Bronze: 4.79%

  • Silver: 4.66%

  • Gold: 4.58%

  • Plat: 4.75%

  • Diamond: 4.85%

  • Masters: 4.99%

  • GM: 5.32%

For most ranks, she falls around 5th most picked overall. Now let’s take a look at how her pickrate has changed within the last month alone:

  • Bronze: 7.1%

  • Silver: 8.11%

  • Gold: 11.39%

  • Plat: 16.29%

  • Diamond: 16.2%

  • Masters: 15.77%

  • GM: 5.06%

Every rank has seen a substantial increase in Mercy’s pickrate apart from GM, where she actually saw a slight decrease. In most other ranks, she’s moved to the 1st or 2nd most picked hero overall. This is probably the starkest increase in a hero’s pickrate that I’ve ever seen that involves no balance changes whatsoever.

Jamppi has been missmanaged

You can think whatever you like about Jamppi, him being inconsisten etc. But I do think that a large reason for his lackluster achievements in valorant are down to Liquids management. This dude has been juggled in every existing role instead of letting him develop in one role potentially making him a star player. Would like to hear your thoughts.

We are overdue for a Grand Finals Game 7

The last time a major LAN grand final went the distance was Moist vs Falcons in the 2022 Spring Major. That is more than two years ago now, and although we've gotten great grand final series like Moist-GenG and FaZe-Karmine, we haven't seen a series go past 6 games. I believe that this year's worlds has one of the closest and most competitive lineups of all time with 8 teams I could comfortably see popping off and winning (all 4 EU teams, GenG and G2 from NA, Falcons, and FURIA). Do you think that this is the year that we finally see a 7 game competitive series in the Worlds Grand Final?

Boo, while often overlooked, is one of the best IGLs around

He is on a team with 4 young god gamers who can all demolish rounds or even teams by themselves, so he is often forgotten, but I think that TH could have another Wo0t in his place and it wouldn't be half the team it is.

If you have ever looked at any TH vlogs, its clear that this man grinds strats like crazy. And it shows, TH is usually quite good in macro play and not really reliant on "hero plays" like many other cracked aimer teams tend to be. Or in Shanghai whenever in later rounds teams tried to anti-strat them on Sunset and Boo had pulled out a whole "anti-strat TH" so that they could counter all anti-strats.

He also manages to keep 4 young and at times hothead players in check during games, and has 4 players with growing egos clearly still respect him above all else and listen to him completely.

Plus, when all else is done, he can still shoot great and clutch up rounds by himself.
