Don’t trade Elden Ring for Elden Ring

Happy Shadow of the Erdtree launch day everyone!

Now, I’m sure a question at least one of you may be asking yourself is, should I trade in my Elden Ring to buy Elden Ring with Erdtree, and the answer is no.

I’ve crunched the numbers and what I’ve come up with, is even if you’re an employee, it is more beneficial to just buy the DLC directly with PlayStation currency.

We are currently running a sale where if you trade in any game, you will get an extra 20% bonus if you buy any game, new or used or make a preorder.

Elden Ring has 3 different trade values. One for PS4, PS5, and XBX.

Right now, as of writing this the values are…

PS4-$25 SC PS5-$22 SC XBX-$16 SC

Don’t ask why PS4 is higher than PS5, it makes no sense to me either.

But back to the topic. Erdtree costs 80 dollars physically (for both PS5 and XBX) and includes the voucher. Code. Now, the DLC is 40 dollars on the store.

So if you were to trade Elden Ring for Elden Ring here the values it would cost

PS4 for Erd= 47.49 (plus tax) PS5 for Erd= 51.39 (plus tax) XBX for Erd= 59.19 (plus tax)

In every single situation (this is also assuming you have a pro account) you will not come out ahead. Not only that, but right now until July 6th, pro members also get 5% off all POSA cards. Meaning, if you have a pro account, spending 40 dollars on POSA will be 37.99 saving you 2 dollars vs just buying it directly off the store (plus taxes)

So, if you are wanting Erdtree, keep your Elden Ring and buy POSA cards, it will be cheaper.

However. There is only 1 situation where trading will be cheaper than buying the DLC.

If you are an employee and have specifically a PS4 copy of ER AND you own a PS5 (the disc won’t work on any other console), your employee benefits makes it so you only have to pay 35.49 (plus tax) for the Erdtree DLC, and that should be the only time that you should trade your Elden Ring for Elden Ring.

Any other time, it’s more beneficial to just buy POSA and get the DLC off the console store.

I hope this helped some people, and I hope you have a great time playing Erdtree if you are! :)

Have fun fellow tarnished!

#GIVEAWAY + AMA - Willy's Wonderland movie just got a Game!! I am sure you will have questions about it - Rafael Lontra, CPO at Mito Games. Ask me anything + Giveaway PS5 Keys

Hello, r/PS4 community! First of all thanks to all the mods for the support and approval for this AMA and the great work with the Sub.

Here's the link for the game (Just $4,99 a bargain!! ;) )

WILLY'S WONDERLAND - PLAYSTATION 4

and some info for the AMA:

# About Mito Games

We are a small indie game dev studio from Vitória, Brazil and we are completing 8 years of existence now, but we only started to work with entertainment games in the last 3 years. We have a lot of experience with educational games and advergames but now we want to start to develop our community of entertainment games.

We have some experience with the consoles because one of our clients for Advergames wanted a really cool game, called Wardogs: Red's Return, which was initially designed for mobiles but grew to be a full PC/Console game at the end, ported and published by Qubyte (this will probably come back for the questions too hehe since this initial design had an impact on our possibilities for the original game and later for Willy's..).

That led us to an unexpected opportunity, as we were working on a DLC for the game Wardogs, we were invited to make a simpler version of the game for the Willy's Wonderland franchise. Of course, there were a lot of limits and constraints that I will discuss during the AMA, but it was a good opportunity for us to be a bit more known since we are just starting in the entertainment area and also a good opportunity to pay tribute to a movie we all had a lot of fun watching. I hope the fans of the movie, understanding the conditions we had to make the game will appreciate it a bit, and who knows in the future we can make a bigger, original game with all the characters in there too? ^^

I work mainly with clients and team management, but I am changing more into a PR role now that we are migrating to the entertainment realm, so I am learning how to do it and Reddit is an amazing tool to help smaller studios like ours. (Please consider following us on your favorite social media)

We are currently finishing the port of our first original game 4 The Elements for the consoles and developing our new game, Tupi, The Legend of Araribóía, which will also be available for consoles when published ;)

Feel free to ask me anything about the game, other games, the company, the industry, gamification, or serious games!

# Rules of the Giveaway:

Leave a question in this thread to be entered into the giveaway:

I will be answering questions from 17/06 at 18:00 GMT until 18/06 18:00 GMT.

Up to 5 players will win a key for the game Willy's Wonderland on PS4!

We will send a DM to the winners here on Reddit after the AMA has ended.

Let us know your thoughts and questions in the comment section below. The AMA will end on Tuesday 18th 18:00 (GMT) and we will let the winners know on that night through DM and an update in the post here!

RESULTS!

AND HERE ARE THE OFFICIAL RESULTS GUYS!!!!
Again, thanks for all who participated, and the  sub and mods for all the support!!

I was giving 5 keys by luck and picking one question as my favorite.. that would leave only one person who participated without a key.. that's absolutely not fair, so I decided to giveaway one key for each of you who participated!! Thank you so much!! I will DM you your keys ;)

Metal Slug Attack: Reloaded - Quick Start Guide
r/MetalSlugAttack

This is a subreddit for Metal Slug Attack, the 2016 sequel to Metal Slug Defense. Here you can post strategies, ask questions, discuss the current meta, or anything related to the game.

Members Online

What is this game?

The original Metal Slug was released in 1996 for arcade machines. A run'n'gun platformer, you blasted your way to victory using coins to buy extra lives as needed. It received several sequels.

Later in 2014, SNK released a smartphone tower defense game called Metal Slug Defense. In this title, you tapped your screen to send various characters from the series running across the screen to the right, while they automatically fought opposing characters trying to get to your base on the left. The first player to blow up the opponent's base won the round.

MSD stored all of its save data on the local device, and cheaters were rampant. In 2016 SNK ceased development of that game and relaunched it as Metal Slug Attack. This new title required an internet connection for all actions, as the player's save data was kept securely online.

MSA received content updates fortnightly for about seven years, resulting in a massive library of new sprite art unique to the game. However, SNK ended its run in 2023, closing the servers.

Metal Slug Attack: Reloaded is a 2024 re-release of Attack for Steam, Xbox Series X|S, PS4|5, and Switch.

What are the main differences between Attack and Attack: Reloaded?

In the mobile game Attack, most game modes required "sortie points" to play. These regenerated over time, and limited players from advancing too far too quickly (unless they were willing to make microtransactions to get more sorties sooner, at least). In Reloaded, sortie points aren't a thing. You can play any unlocked game mode whenever you want to and there are no microtransactions.

At the end of its run, Attack had over 1,300 playable units. However, as the purpose of the game largely revolved around collecting new units, most of the old ones were quickly rendered obsolete by subsequent updates. Often units would be re-released in a stronger form, with a slightly different move set and a different colour scheme.

Reloaded debuted with around 300 playable units. Most of the recolours are gone, but also some old characters don't appear at all. Those which have been kept have largely been rebalanced, increasing the pool of "viable" units. Presumably more units will be added later, although it hasn't been made clear whether they'll be paid DLC or not.

How do I play?

Over time, your Action Points (AP) will gather up in the lower left corner. Click the supply girl (Rumi) to speed this up.

Your available units are listed in the lower middle of the screen. Click to deploy them into battle.

Deployments and AP production upgrades both cost AP. You need to balance your spending between them: send out units too often, and you'll run out of AP. But if you upgrade your AP production too often, you might not be able to deploy enough units to defend your base. A good rule of thumb is to start each battle with two upgrades, start sending out units, and then to upgrade further whenever you've got the AP to spare.

Deployed units have a charge bar under them which fills up to ready their special attacks. Charged units start to glow - click them to activate their special moves.

Overwhelm the enemy base with your forces and you win:

  • Experience (XP), which increases your player level.

  • A random selection of items, that can be equipped on to your units between battles to unlock skills (stars). You get one for each of the hidden POWs you manage to find - there are four per stage.

  • Metal Slug Points (MSP), that can be selectively spent to level up your units. You get more if you win fast.

The items you can win, and the amounts of XP and MSP you earn, improve with harder stages. The first time you beat a stage you'll also earn medals, which are used to unlock new units.

How do I get stronger?

First go to Build Up => Customise Base. Here you can spend MSP to power up. The choices include permanent AP production speed upgrades, which you should prioritise! Each upgrade caps out at whatever your player level is (or at level 10, if you haven't reached that point yet).

Now access your Units list (eg again through Build Up). Select a unit, hit LV UP, and you can spend more MSP to improve it.

Next use the EQUIP button to add items to your unit. There are five panels to fill up, and they need to be done in order. The first four each unlock a skill (star): these can make units tougher & stronger, and some can even grant them new moves! The fifth panel offers no special reward, but it does accept more powerful items than the earlier ones do.

If you don't have an item you need for a unit, click it on the equip screen and you'll get an option that shows you how to obtain it. This can quick-jump you to the stages that reward it.

Once a skill has been unlocked, use the SKILL button to level that up too. Skills can be levelled up to whatever a unit's main level is.

Later you'll unlock more systems that allow you to become even more powerful, but for starters just remember to keep spending MSP on levels (especially base upgrade levels) and to keep dishing out your items to your units.

How do I get more units?

After beating a few stages, "Call to Arms" will unlock. This works much like a gachapon machine, or a crank: you spend medals for a random assortment of prizes.

CtA is a "box crank" system, which is to say that the prizes you win are removed from the list of possibilities for future wheel spins. There are multiple reward lists, each offering better units, but costing more medals. The "better" lists don't unlock until you've cleared more stages.

Prizes consist of unit "parts". The first time you get parts for a unit, that unit unlocks for play. You will then occasionally be awarded more parts for those units you already have: these can be used to "evolve" those units back in Build Up. Any units with an evolution available will be glowing on your list.

There are five stages of growth:

  • Iron (10 parts)

  • Bronze (20 more parts, or 30 total)

  • Silver (50 more parts, or 80 total)

  • Gold (100 more parts, or 180 total)

  • Platinum (150 more parts, or 330 total).

Rarer units start out at a higher stage than common ones do. Each evolution not only makes the unit stronger, but it also reduces its AP cost as well, so you want as many parts as you can get for your favourites. Go ahead and spend your medals in CtA early and often: the game awards lots of them, and you'll have a hard time if you delay on spending.

CtA won't give you any more parts for a unit after you've gathered enough to plat that unit. Once you've earned plat for all units in a list, that entire CtA list will be marked off as Complete.

The impatience of this community is understandable, but misplaced

People think Star Citizen's development time is unreasonable. But they only think that because they've been able to play and follow along with the development process since the beginning. What a lot of you may not understand is that Star Citizen is NOT, in fact, taking an unusually long time to develop, for what it's trying to accomplish. The key difference here is they didn't announce the game when it was 90% complete. They announced it at 0% complete.

But what's more concerning is how the community reacts to CIG employees. A lot of you focus your energy on community managers and CIG employees who aren't in project lead, decision making positions.

With how ambitious Star Citizen is in what they're trying to accomplish and considering how much development tech they have to invent (such as dynamic server meshing), I wouldn't be surprised if it took them 15 years to finalize the products.

Here are a list of popular games you'll likely know about or have played that have taken a similar amount of time but are LESS ambitious. Maybe this'll help put Star Citizen's development time into perspective.

  1. Red Dead Redemption 2 (8 years) The game's development lasted over eight years*, beginning soon after Red Dead Redemption's release, and it became one of the most expensive video games ever made. Rockstar co-opted all of its studios into one large team to facilitate development.*

  2. Grand Theft Auto 6 (about 10 years) According to Jason Schreier over at Bloomberg, GTA 6 has been in development since 2014. If this report proves to be accurate, that means the upcoming Grand Theft Auto title has been in the works for around a decade*. By the time the game launches in Fall 2025, it will have been in development for eleven years.*

    • Keep in mind that GTA and RDR are built on engines that were already in place and molded around their style of game development and have only improved over time, whereas star citizen has required rework after rework and even, if I'm not mistaken, an entire engine swap at one point, in order to achieve their desired outcome all while dealing with a dumb lawsuit from a greedy engine developer

  3. The Last Guardian (9 Years) After the critical success of Shadow of the Colossus, Team Ico began development on a different sort of story.

  4. Team Fortress Two (9 years)  The full-game sequel was in development for nearly a decade thanks to Valve adopting the Source game engine, as well as thanks to the team creating multiple versions of the same game as they experimented with designs.

  5. Diablo 3 (11 years) Diablo 2 was always going to be hard to match, and that seemed to be a factor in Diablo 3 taking so long to make. According to an anonymous former employee who worked on the majority of the game, there were constant changes to the main idea of Diablo 3 because the senior staff were never totally confident in their ideas. A lot of time was wasted developing concepts only to throw them away

  6. Prey (11 years) Although it was announced in 1995, this sci-fi game went through a series of design changes, along with a new in-game mechanic. Developing the engine to make this mechanic understandably took a while. Add the director leaving and needing to be replaced, as well as some trouble fine-tuning the mechanics, and you've got an answer to why it took so long to come out. After a few stops and starts over the years, the game was finally launched in 2006 to praise for its graphics and storyline

  7. Final Fantasy 15 (10 years) Square Enix's Final Fantasy 15 undoubtedly has a great cast of characters, although some feel the storyline surrounding it is not fleshed out well enough. Final Fantasy 15's development went through a string of problems, starting in 2006 when the game was meant to be made for the PS3; the game changed hands and switched platforms eventually. As a result, Final Fantasy 15 had to be redone with a new storyline and a revamp of some of the characters before finally launching in 2016 for the next generation of consoles

  8. Galleon (7 years) Porting the game from PlayStation to Dreamcast, then GameCube, and finally Xbox caused all sorts of technical issues and though the finished product was decent for a game that had suffered such a protracted creation, Galleon ultimately didn’t make much of impact and is now largely forgotten.

  9. L.A. Noire (7 years) With a budget in the range of $50 million, L.A. Noire was one of the most expensive video game productions at the time and fortunately for publisher Rockstar Games, the game was a sales success with over five million copies sold. However, allegations of poor working conditions at Team Bondi emerged in the months following L.A. Noire’s release, prompting Rockstar to cut ties with the studio. Unable to sign a deal with a new publisher, the studio was forced to close its doors in October 2011

  10. Star Craft II (7 years) A year after the game was first announced at the 2007 Blizzard Worldwide Invitational, Blizzard revealed that development on Starcraft II was only about a third of the way done (bear in mind that the game was five years into development at this point) and that the initial release would be missing single player campaigns for two of the franchise’s factions, Zerg and Protoss (these were eventually released in expansion packs).

  11. Spore (8 years) Spore was finally released in 2008 and while its customization options and general structure were well-received, the game’s repetitive gameplay was widely criticized. Looking back, it was probably unreasonable to expect a god simulator that spent nearly a decade in development was going to live up to the hype but considering some thought Spore was just vaporware at one point, we’re just happy it eventually made it to the finish line.

  12. Too Human (9 years) Silicon Knights pivoted yet again when they signed an exclusivity deal with Microsoft, with the plan this time to turn Too Human into a trilogy. After nearly a decade of development hell, the game was finally released in 2008 to middling reviews and sales figures. Trilogy plans were quickly scrapped and Silicon Knights ended up declaring bankruptcy in 2014 after losing a protracted court case with Epic Games, with a federal judge ordering the developer to destroy all copies of Too Human*.*

  13. Duke Nukem Forever (15* years) Unsurprisingly, the (not actually real) award for most delayed game of all time goes to Duke Nukem Forever*, the sequel to 1996’s* Duke Nukem 3D that took a whopping 15 years to see through to completion. Originally announced in 1997, development duties were handled by 3D Realms for the next decade until the studio was downsized and the Duke Nukem Forever team all lost their jobs. A year later, the game ended up with 2K Games, who chose Borderlands developer Gearbox Software to put the finishing touches on the game and finally get it out the door. In 2011, Duke Nukem Forever finally released and was widely considered a colossal failure; an outdated, ugly, and not particularly entertaining game that should have been axed somewhere along the way  during its absurd 15 year development.

Now some of you might want to talk about how Elite Dangerous only took 5 years but Elite Dangerous doesn't do HALF of what Star Citizen does. There's a lot of peer to peer instancing, you can't even walk around your ship, the planets are bland and empty, FPS is dog water, and the ambition of that game was good for its time but isn't there today.

Now that's not to say I don't enjoy their landing systems, BASE (pre engineering) weapon balancing and mechanics, drone mechanics, accessing the POI lists on the side monitor, and several other things that they do really well. But what CIG is trying to do with SC is SO much more sophisticated and advanced and the ED engine could not handle what SC is now. I'm not making an argument for which is better, I'm just saying they're not very relatable when you account for the scale of detail.

If you don't want to suffer through the development process then quit the game for a year or two, unsub from the youtube videos and reddit forums, and just remove yourself from the game and comeback after a good long break and enjoy the changes. The game has only improved since launch and it will continue to improve. But when I see this community dog on the developers with clown emojis, it breaks my heart. This is a game you supposedly love but you also shit on the devs who are doing their best with a near impossible objective.

TL;DR

CIG didn't have the funding, staffing, fully developed game engine, or multiple studios to split the work at day 1 like the games below I listed had. On top of all that, the stretch goals expanded the scope of the project to become so supermassive that all of the games I listed aren't even comparable in size or nuance. Not to mention they were simultaneously developing 2 games at once while trying to maintain a playable PU, regardless of how good or bad they're doing with that.

It is understandable to be upset with Chris Roberts for overpromising SQ42 back in 2016, then again in 2020. It's less understandable to call a dev a clown for delaying freight elevators. But when I say your impatience is misplaced, it's because I keep seeing people, essentially, attack grocery store employees because they don't like the policy made by company executives.

The entire point of this post was to provide understanding as to why development is taking so long, and to help prevent people from shitting down the throats of devs and community managers for things they have no control over.

I’m the only one disappointed with the RePop trailers?

I mean, I love Lollipop Chainsaw, I finished more than 5 times and it’s the best game on PS3 in my rumble opinion. I know that RePop it is a remaster and not a remake, but the graphics seems very…playstation 4….I’m not convinced that it has a big improvement in the game so that it requires only a PS5.

Honestly, I feel that this remaster feel quite lazy, the two trailers seems quite the same, not showing much about the remaster or any reason to buy it.

Well, and the cherry on the cake: the physical version being released later this year (okay, I understand that), BUT WHAT THE FUCK IS THAT COVER? It can be more lazy? If they used the old PS3 cover would be better.

I’m fully disappointed, and honestly, I don’t know if I wanna play this anymore, just for the sake of not ruining my good memories with the PS3 version.

Well, I’m prepared for the huge downvotes that I’ll get on this post hahaha

Slay the Princess — The Pristine Cut - Black Tabby Games - Definitive Edition of Choice-Driven Horror-Comedy and Romance Visual Novel, Coming to PC and Consoles this Fall!

Hi there!

I'm one of the (two) developer's of Slay the Princess, a choice-heavy, surrealist horror visual novel where you're tasked with slaying a Princess in the woods before she can bring about the end of the world. The game is fully voice-acted, with all of the voicework done by Jonathan Sims (The Magnus Archives) and Nichole Goodnight (The NoSleep Podcast)

Yesterday we announced that we'd be releasing "The Pristine Cut," a definitive edition of the game to consoles and PC this coming fall.

Here's our new trailer: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=L6Kg5NCYIkY

The Pristine Cut adds about 35% more content over the base game, and is a free upgrade for everyone who already owns the game on PC. We'll also be keeping the base price of the game the same as it is now — $17.99 USD, with regional pricing.

On top of expanding the story, we're also localizing the text of the game into 11 new languages: Simplified and Traditional Chinese, Korean, Japanese, French, German, Russian, Spanish (Latin American), Brazilian Portuguese, Italian, and Polish.

Steam (where you can also play a free demo): https://store.steampowered.com/app/1989270/Slay_the_Princess/
GOG: https://www.gog.com/en/game/slay_the_princess
PlayStation 4/5: https://store.playstation.com/en-us/concept/10011143
Physical Edition Pre-orders: https://store.serenityforge.com/collections/slay-the-princess

The Pristine Cut will also be releasing on Nintendo Switch and Xbox, but store pages for those have to wait until the game goes through cert.

Happy to answer all of your questions about the game, the Pristine Cut, or Scarlet Hollow (our other game, which we're thrilled to be back to working full-time on!)

Double down in the Double Take Collection Event

Squad up with Quads, earn Lifeline’s “Apex Corruptor,” level up with 1.5x towards Prestige challenges, and more with our mid-season patch.

Link to Event Trailer

Get ready to rumble, Legends – it’s time we had our first collection event of the season! And we hope that you’ve got an extra friend or two, because Quads is coming to Apex Legends! This all new 4-Legend squad takeover is the best kind of chaos, amped up with new strats and team comps. And you already know that there’s a fresh batch of skins. Collect all 24 mind-bending event cosmetics before the event ends to receive Lifeline’s Prestige Skin, “Apex Corruptor.” Plus, earn 1.5x towards Prestige Skin Challenges during the entire event!

QUADS TAKEOVER

No longer will you have to decide which of your three friends will be in your squad for the Apex Games. Bring all three! Until the end of the season, your squad of four will take on 14 other squads in an attempt to become the Apex Champions. Team compositions? They’re a whole other vibe with a fourth. Strategies to outsmart and outplay your opponents? We hope you’ve got your comms down. This is a new gen of Apex.

The loot pool has also been updated to avoid in-fighting for ammo, attachments, and regen items. You may even have a small chance to obtain a Blue or Purple kitted weapon! Unfortunately, Tridents are too small to squeeze a fourth on board, but let ‘em walk. If you’re more of a team player, there’s always Evac Towers or Valkyrie’s Ult. And Skyward Dive, along with other Legend abilities, have also been updated to support a fourth.

PATCH NOTES

BALANCE UPDATES

Care Package

  • Purple light mag added

Gold Weapons Rotation

  • Nemesis Burst AR, Triple-Take, Peacekeeper, Prowler PDW, Longbow DMR

End Rings

  • End rings now have more even distribution through the map

  • Each quadrant of the map now have roughly 25% chance of getting selected

Survival Slot Items

  • Survival slot items have been redistributed to low tier loot zones

Dev Note: Survival slot items were not spawning in all our loot quality zones. This adjustment maintains a similar number of survival slot items in a match but more evenly distributes them across the map.

WEAPONS & ATTACHMENTS

G7 Scout

  • Damage increased to 33 (was 32)

  • Rate of fire increased

  • Adjusted recoil to be more consistent when firing at max fire rate

Dev Note: The G7 has felt a little underwhelming and our data backs that up. When we were evaluating its rate of fire we realized its recoil could use a pass as well so we’ve smoothed out what we think the roughest spots are and given it a little more damage. This should help the G7 be competitive with the rest of our marksman and sniper roster.

Havoc Rifle

  • All mag sizes reduced

    • No Mag: 20 (was 24)

    • White Mag: 24 (was 28)

    • Blue Mag: 28 (was 32)

    • Purple Mag: 32 (was 36)

Dev Note: The Havoc is a force to be reckoned with, even without all the bells and whistles of mags and turbochargers it still puts in work. However, 36 rounds in a kitted Havoc, even with the firing delay, represents high damage up time and forgiveness for wasted rounds (often experienced during prefiring). Pulling back on mags allows it to remain deadly, but requires a little more precision.

Longbow DMR

  • Headshot multiplier increased to 2.25 (was 2.15)

R-99 SMG

  • Reduced hip-fire randomness

Dev Note: Over the last few patches we nerfed the R-99 because it was a significant outlier, performing well above the rest of the pack. Those nerfs were substantial and the R-99 has fallen a little too far for our liking and is feeling unreliable. These adjustments intend to bring up its consistency without directly increasing its damage potential.

Rampage LMG

  • Firing animation has less vertical movement while in ADS

Weapon Rarity Sets

  • Peacekeeper (Blue and Purple)

    • Optic updated to 1x Hcog (was 2x Bruiser)

  • Charge Rifle & Sentinel (Purple)

    • Optic updated to 4-8x (was 2-4x)

    • Gunrun will keep a 2-4x

4x-10x Digital Threat Scope

  • Will no longer provide threat vision through smoke or gas

LEGENDS

Alter

  • Void Passage: Crypto EMP will now affect all players phased by the Void Passage

Bangalore

  • Smoke Launcher: all players within smoke will now have a white highlight visible to other players in smoke within 20m

Dev Note: Fighting inside Bangalore's smoke has never been a pleasant experience for players or viewers (aside from you Bloodhounds) as it makes fights messy and hard to read. We are leveling the playing field now by making all players inside smoke clearer targets to one another with a white highlight. This highlight is not visible from outside the smoke: all of the rotational and sight-blocking gameplay are kept in-tact. However, while playing inside the smoke will be more clear, it will also be more risky and resets will be much harder if the smoke is challenged.

Bloodhound

  • Beast of the Hunt: threat vision is no longer visible through smoke or gas

  • Upgrade: Level 2

    • Raven’s Blessing: Ult charge reduced to 20% (was 25%)

  • Upgrades: Level 3

    • NEW Sighthound: reduced Tac cooldown by 50% while Ultimate is active

    • NEW Flock: remove enemy range requirement for White Raven spawns

Dev Note: Sometimes even the best teams break up and go their separate ways. Bloodhound's Ult has always had a strong synergy with Bangalore’s smoke, but the pairing has recently become dominant and a singular answer to the "can't see stuff" meta. With the removal of threat vision through smoke, Bloodhound will need to rely on their Tac scan like other Recon Legends. This should remove the necessity for the dynamic duo to pair together and allow for new roster compositions to form in its wake.

We were noticing how much the White Raven passive would fall off in the late game as enemies are naturally closer, making Raven’s Blessing upgrade much less valuable after the first ring. The new Level 3 upgrade will allow players to play off White Ravens across the match and fuel their Ult more effectively.

Alternatively, players can now tap back into some of Bloodhound’s old scan potential while in their Ult. These changes aim to shift power away from simply securing knocks for late game benefit and into more opportunities to use the Ult or the Tac through new upgrade choices.

[see full table of updated perks on original article]

Pathfinder

  • Upgrade: Level 3

    • Down & Away: Tac will now refresh on BOTH knocks and assisted knocks within a 3s window

Revenant

  • Upgrade: Level 3

    • Grim Leaper: Tac will now refresh on BOTH knocks and assisted knocks within a 3s window

MAPS

  • PUBS: Broken Moon / Kings Canyon / Olympus

  • RANKED: Broken Moon / Olympus / World’s Edge

MODES

Quads

  • Replacing Duos Playlist for S21.1

  • 15 Teams of 4 Players

  • Loot Improvements

    • Chance to find Blue/Purple kitted weapons

    • Increased ammo in Light, Heavy, and Energy ammo boxes

    • Increased chance to find ammo, health, shield, scopes, and deployable items

  • Lockdown: added The Core, Estates

  • Mixtape Map Rotations

    • 6/25-7/8 Control: Caustic, Labs, Thunderdome / Gun Run: Estates, Fragment, Zeus Station / TDM: Habitat, The Core, Estates

    • 7/9-7/22 Control: Labs, Caustic / Gun Run: Estates, Fragment / Lockdown: The Core, Estates / TDM: Habitat, Phase Runner

    • 7/23-7/29 Control: Labs, Caustic, Production Yard / Gun Run: Estates, Fragment, Zeus Station / Lockdown: The Core, Thunderdome, Estates / TDM (removed during 1st week of LTM)

    • 7/30-8/5 Control: Labs, Caustic / Gun Run: Estates, Fragment / Lockdown: The Core, Estates / TDM: Habitat, Phase Runner

RANKED

Ranked Rumble takes over the normal Ranked League at the end of the season as the singular Ranked offering. Ranked entry cost, placement, and KP tuning updated to:

  • Lower entry cost above Bronze Tier

    • Gold: 35 (was 40)

    • Platinum: 55 (was 60)

    • Diamond: 75 (was 80)

  • Placement RP Tuning now follows ALGS rules that all Top 15 will gain points

    • 15th: 5 (was 0)

    • 14th: 5 (was 0)

  • Kill Point Tuning

    • 8th: 14 (was 12)

    • 7th: 14 (was 12)

    • 6th: 16 (was 12)

Dev Note: we have received valuable insights from last season's data and community feedback and made slight adjustments based on both. The entry cost above Bronze has been lowered slightly, all of the Top 15 players will now receive corresponding placement points, and increased the KP for players in the top 6th-8th positions. With the potential for more updates to come as we continue to monitor.

We reward players for excellent strategic choices in placement and for outstanding combat performances in Kills. Achieving Top 5 placement in many ways is your strategic choice, but we won't reward you with additional points; you must validate your placement with eliminations.
