ON A NOTE
My finished toy was 11 cm (4.3 inches) high. I used a cotter pin, thanks to which the
head can turn in different directions. If you don’t want to use it, you can sew the
head simply to the body.
For convenience, mark the first single crochet with pin or marker at the beginning of
each round. Check the number of loops after each crocheted round (it is indicated in
round brackets).
You can choose a completely different yarn than suggested here. In this case, you
need to choose the size of the hook yourself.
Try to crochet so that the stuffing material is not visible in the toy. If you can’t
crochet more tightly, take a smaller hook.

the middle of the eye (see photos 5, 6). In the same way, embroider one more «loose
stitch» 1 mm higher than the previous one, in order to get an oval shape (see photos
7-10).
Using yarn needle to do from below the eye «loose stitch» of white thread floss (see

Embroider 3 strips with dark-blue mouline threads on both sides of the flippers (see
photos 97-103).
For the flippers on the left side (from the observer) move the thread to the right
edge (see photo 104). Next, crochet the flippers around with a 1,5 mm hook: sl st, 6
loops, sl st, 8 loops, sl st, 6 loops, sl st, 8 loops, sl st (see photos 105-114).
Attach the flippers using needles for cutting (front flippers between 26 and 27
rounds of body, distance between them approx 20 stitches; back flippers between 23
and 24 rounds of body, distance between legs approx 12 stitches; distance between
front and back flippers approx 14 stitches, see photos 118-120). Check that the
dinosaur stand steadily. Sew the flippers to the body (see photos 121-123).
Congratulations, you did a great job and created a small miracle! Embrace your
plesiosaurus (see photos 124-126)!
Glue the spool to the fishing rod with super glue so that the thread goes
counterclockwise and hangs down as shown on photo 154.
Make 3 small rings from the wire (diameter 0.6 mm) using round-nosepliers.
Carefully put the ring on the fishing rod, after passing the tip of the thread and fix it
discreetly with super glue (see photo 155).
In the same way, put on 2 more rings to the rod (see photo 156).
