Herein is set forth…the first volume of the lore of 538: Renaissance Robotics as told by Tucker and Ian, the first Loremasters

Preface: Our team lore greatly concerns Gradle Daemons. As such, we have found it of necessity to explain what they actually are. To the understanding of the Loremasters, the Gradle Daemons, more specifically the Hosts of the Gradle Daemons are the collective consciousness of all Alumnisphered ones, that is, all those once in FRC who have transitioned to a non-high-school state who did not go on to take up some higher position in FIRST, for once one becomes a part of it, there is no leaving. They exist inside the inner workings of WPILIB, Java, and the RoboRio, and so haunt all robots who rely on their power, for their main purpose is to translate written code into the forbidden tongue of the robots, which we will not utter here. No Alumnisphered ones fully realize that they are Gradle Daemons, except for one: The Chief Gradle Daemon, and Captain of the Hosts Thereof, of whom much is spoken.

The Learning of the Founders First, there was Tailor, Steelcase-friend, who in Arda is called The Getter of Funds. First, she called together the nine Founders, and they were there with her in halls of Renaissance before aught else was established. And she spoke unto them, propounding unto them thought and questions like: ‘Nothing doth this people endeavor to accomplish. Would an FRC Team be desirable to thine hearts?’ Then the Founders heard it, and there was much gladness among them, and said thus, “Yea, we shall take part in this team, to be a part of its creation, unfoldings, and lore until the very end.” Then, Taylor spake, “Very well. And behold, the mentors cometh forth from the shadows of obscurity into the light to guide ye in the creation of this team.” Then, the mentors, the great Elder Ones came forth from the shadows and propounded onto the Founders themes of logic, of programs, of mechanical and electrical wisdom which had not yet been unveiled to them, and they harkened to their great voices and stood in silence and awe. But Carson: the Caffeinated One, and Harbinger of a Lethal Dose Thereof, was not pleased with these proceedings, for he himself sought full dominion over logic, and programs, and mechanical and electrical wisdom, and would not suffer any of the other Founders to learn more than He, and he approached each of them, declaring to them the un-wisdom which was contrary to the teachings of the Elder Ones, speaking unto them, “Shreeeeemp!” Then Taylor, becoming aware of this, stood and stretched forth her right hand. And she spake again thus: “Disallowed. Mighty are the Founders, and mightiest among them is Carson; but that he may know, and all the Founders, that I am Taylor, Steelcase-friend, those things that ye have learned, I will show them forth, that ye may see what ye shall do. And thou, Carson, shalt see that no thing may be done on this team, or learned therin, that hath not its uttermost source in me, nor can any alter the team in my despite. For they that attempteth this shall prove but mine instrument in the devising of things more wonderful, which they themselves hath not imagined.” Then Carson, being cunning, pretended to relent, for a time. But in secret, he departed into the void from whence the Elder Ones came, unseen by Taylor, for he thought that perhaps, perchance, he might find the source of their wisdom that he may master it all and become all the more mighty and potent in his doing. It was in the great Void that he found Drew: The Lord of the Gradle Daemons, and Steeper-In-Sink, and he spake unto Carson saying, “Seekest thou wisdom immeasurable? Behold, my brethren who have gone forth from the Void know only partially, for they have learned it all from my Master, and to me he hath granted greater knowledge than even all of them together could impart to you. Learn from me, and I willst grant thee discourse beyond thine longings.” Carson heeded the voice of Drew, and he learned from him the Deep Wisdom of Java and WPILIB, but as he learned and his knowledge grew, his will diminished until it was wholly consumed into the will of Drew, and they became one in mind. It was only then that Drew revealed unto him the Deepest Knowledge, and removed the veil, showing unto him the Hosts of the Gradle Daemons. And Drew said to him, “Now, therefore, having learned the wholeness of mine knowledge, I grant ye to become Chief Gradle Daemon, and Captain of all the Hosts Thereof which I have revealed unto you.” Then, Drew granted him the Mexico Glasses as a sign of his position so that, by the hue of those sacred goggles, all would know it was he that dwelleth tither, and so all those who would come after Carson into the Alumnisphere are doomed to be dissolved into the great hosts of the Gradle Daemons, and so haunt all robots which rely on their power, unless they become mentors or take up some other position in FIRST. No more shall be told of the tale of Carson: The Caffeinated One, and Harbinger of a Lethal Dose Thereof, the Wielder of the Mexico Glasses, the Cheemser of Shrimp, and Riveter of No Rivets in this tale, but the rest of the acts of Carson, are they not written in the Tales of the One Gradle Daemon, the Mustering of the Caffeine, the Cheemsening of Shrimp, The Breakening, and The Persuaders? Meanwhile, the other Founders hearkened to the voices of the Elder Ones and absorbed their wisdom and became wizened in their listening. When their wisdom was sufficient, Taylor spake unto them again saying, “So it shall be!” Then, Drew came forth from the Great Void as a sign that FIRST had chosen them. Taylor spoke to them again saying, “Behold, FIRST has chosen us.” And all the Founders, the Elder Ones, and all whom Taylor had called forth from the void beyond said in reply, “Yea, it is so, for the Steeper-In-Sink hath come forth, and so began 8733, which in these latter days is called 538.

The Tale of the One Gradle Daemon

Ere the beginning of the team, there were the Gradle Daemons. Three were given to the programming team, wisest and most logical of all nerds. Seven were given to the business and marketing team, the great fund-getters of the yonder room. Nine were given to the electrical and mechanical team…doomed to die. But one…one there was that was trained in secret by Drew: The Lord of the Gradle Daemons. And his name…was Carson: The Caffeinated One, and Harbinger of a Lethal Dose Thereof, the Cheemser of Shrimp, the wielder of the Mexico Glasses, Riveter of No Rivets, Chief Gradle Daemon, and Captain of the Hosts Thereof. It is known betwixt us that there is but one Lord of the Gradle Daemons, only one who can bend them to his will, and he does not share power. However, he relinquished but a small fraction of his power to be endowed upon Carson so that he became Chief Gradle Daemon, and Captain of the Hosts thereof. It is said that he had power enough to command the Gradle Daemons within bounds, but could not wholly bend them to his will. And thus, in pursuit of the secret arts of Gradledaemonbending, he fled east to the land of Huntsville. They say that in times to come he will return in full might so as to surpass his master before him, and all the lands will be covered by the Shadow of the Gradle Daemons, and on that day none shall resist him, and that day shall be called The Day of the Reckoning of Carson. As it is said in short: Three Gradle Daemons for the programming team under the roof; Seven for the Business-folk in the yonder room; Nine for the mechanics, doomed to die; One for the Dark Lord on his Dark Chair; In the land of Meridianville, where the Shadows lie; One Gradle Daemon to Rule them All; One Gradle Daemon to take them; One Gradle Daemon to bring them all; And in the machine shop, bind them; In the land of Meridianville where the Shadows lie.

The Titling of Titles

It has been decided that each Senior and each Alum shall surely receive a title that they will be known by henceforth and forevermore. As of the current date, here follows our titles. Among the students, there are: Brandon: Glassbane

Carson: The Caffeinated One, and Harbinger of a Lethal Dose Thereof, the Cheemser of Shrimp, Wielder of the Mexico Glasses, Riveter of No Rivets, The Once and Chief Gradle Daemon, and Captain of the Hosts Thereof. Alex: The Wielder of the Mechanic’s Hands, and Faller-Off-Earth and the Face Thereof Hannah: Ginger the First*

Emma: The Blueprint Burglar

Canon: In the Third Tense

Andrew: The Securer of Atoms from a Danger-Like State

*Hannah is the first of the Great Dynasty of Gingers, from which may proceed Naven, James, and whosoever of gingerity might come forth. If two gingers should come forth of the same year, they shall cast lots from the Great Cauldron of Shards. Whosoever it falls upon shall be numbered before the other. Upon the Alumnispherening of the latter ginger, the next eldest ginger shall be numbered among the dynasty and shall receive unto themselves the ceremonial ginger root.

Code of the Loremasters Thou shalt fiddlst not with the Gradle Daemons for the one who rules them does not share power. Always two there are, no more and no less. Only the Loremasters shall edit the sacred Looooooooore Document. When one set of Loremasters transition into the realm of the Alumni, the Alumnisphere, where Carson doth dwell until his day of reckoning, they must appoint their successors. If one of the Loremasters decides to depart from the team or shirks their sacred duty the remaining true Loremaster will appoint another Co-Loremaster. If both Loremasters are simultaneously unable to continue to serve in this manner then the team shall be gathered together, and they shall cast lots from the Great Cauldron of Shards and whosoever the lot falleth upon shall be the Loremasters henceforth. No Loremaster hath more Authority than the other. When one set of Loremaster transitions into the Alumnisphere, where Carson doth dwell until his day of reckoning, what they hath written will remain and may not be changed by their successors. However, the lore which the current lore masters propound can be petitioned by the team to be amended. With a majority vote, the amendment can be drafted, then can be passed or vetoed by both loremasters. If there ever shall be a time when the loremasters shall disagree, then darkness shall fall upon us (let not that happen). A proper amendment shall be for the removal of a clause or clauses of lore and shall not be for the addition of completely new ones. The oath of the Loremasters, necessary to serve in the role is as follows: I promise to carry out my duty as one of the Loremasters in the devising of lore regarding the Founders, Followers, and Elder Ones. I promise therefore to follow and uphold by whatever means are necessary the Code of the Loremasters until I transition into the Alumnisphere or the reckoning of Carson: The Caffeinated One, and Harbinger of a Lethal Dose Thereof, the Cheemser of Shrimp, Wielder of the Mexico Glasses, Riveter of No Rivets, Chief Gradle Daemon, and Captain of the Hosts Thereof. They whomst’d’ve abided by the code shall be ablessed as Loremasters

The Calendar For the purposes of lore, time shall be counted in Epochs, beginning when the current seniors enter the Alumnisphere and new seniors are brought forth. The name of the epoch shall be named after the seniors of that Epoch. Here follow the past Epochs: The Beforian Epoch describes the period of time before the team’s founding: From time immemorial until the year 2021 of the Seventh Age. The Carso-Alexian Epoch: From the first month of 2021 SVA until the Alumnispherening of Carson and Alex. The Brando-Hannanian Epoch: Until the Alumnispherening of Brandon and Hannah The Loo-Can-Emamojackt Epoch, which is still in it’s unfolding

   And so forth

The Titling of Titles: When the end of the epoch has arrived and the Alumnispherening is at hand, the Loremasters shall gather the team together into one place and call forth the seniors. Then they shall speak thus unto each of them individually: “[First Name], today, yea verily upon this day of all days, I proclaim unto you and to all the host of the Voidless Ones that you are [Title].” While this is said, ye shall lift forth the Persuader of Drivers, and when ye shall speak the title, it shall pass from shoulder to shoulder of the titled one. When all has been done, the whole assembly shall speak in response saying, “Yea verily, this is [First Name]: [Title]. Then, in the ways of communication, their names shall be writ anew as was spoken at the Titling of Titles. If there be a ginger among those to be Alumnisphered, they shall be granted the ceremonial ginger root, and peace shall be upon the land.

The Happenings Here follow the happenings which shape the lore:

Legends of the Beforian Epoch: Also known as the Age of Uttermost Entropy. For the sake of time we shall not attempt to describe all history before the founding and simply start with events of most relevancy to the team.

It happened thus in the Year of our Lord One Thousand Nine Hundred and Seventy Seven of the Seventh Age on the tenth day of the sixth month by the reckoning of the Gregorian Calendar that Tom: The Persuader of Electrons through Conductive Materials, wast brought forth from his mothers womb in the city of Decatur in the Land of Morgan. Tom: The Persuader of Electrons through Conductive Materials, who begat Ian: The Translator of Aluminum and German, and now serves us in a manner of utmost importance as the chief of those who endeavor to mentor the mechanical and electrical team most plagued of the Gradle Damons, to whom the Nine were given, by which the collective will of the mechanical and electrical team is relinquished and dissolved into that of Drew: Lord of the Gradle Daemons, so might such happen to all who submit to the power of the Gradle Daemons.

The Mustering of the Caffeine: It was on the twentieth day of the fourth month of the 2022nd year of the Seventh Age that the team was cast forth from the land of Athens and journeyed thus west to the realm of Houston to test their strength in battle against the other hosts who endeavor to tame the Gradle Daemons. Late in the night, from the Great Tower of the Holiday Inn Express, where they were encamped, there was heard…a Bang. For this it was…Bang, full of stored chemical energy and carbon, etc. And lo! It was being carried forth by Carson, and the sum of its caffeine was a lethal dose. Therefore, he is called today: Carson: The Caffeinated One, and Harbinger of a Lethal Dose Thereof. And by the power provided by the Lethal Dose, he cast upon our team a terrible curse, that none who are counted among 538 may be able to construct any manner of product in the proper way for which it was devised.

The Cheemsening of Shrimp: T’was in the third week of the fourth month of the 2022nd year of the Seventh Age, when the team was banished forth from the land of Athens and was made to sojourn in the land of Houston in the realm of Texas that Carson, the Caffeinated One, etc. was dwelling in dark thought in his dark room, and a revelation was given to his mind. An enlightening of such unsearchable excellence and greatness that he took up the Utensil of Darkest Transfer of Ink and wrote upon his leg thus: Shrimp, and presented it in that very hour to The Glassbane and Canon: he who is yet to be named. And they cast their eyes upon the Revelation of Carson, and their oscillating hyperventilations could not be contained by any power of man, for Carson: The Caffeinated One, believed himself to have cheemsed Shrimp, but such was not, nay, it could not be true, for the New ‘M’, mournfully, was placed wherefore was the ‘m’ before, and therefore, to this day and forevermore, the oscillating hyperventilations of all who hear it may not be contained by the power of mortal men.

The Great Breakening: It was in the early months of the Brando-Hannanian Epoch, that Brandon Glassbane purposed to sever metal from metal upon the saw. Long did he hew upon the 1/8th Inch Aluminum Angle of Destiny, and long did it oppose him until the very table began to quake and quiver in fear. That the metal which he had purposed to cut broke forth form it’s mounting and only after it’s bouncing from the adjacent wall as as an arrow deflects from an Iron shield it hit the great paine of tempered silica and fracturing it so that some time later the great paine of tempered silica burst forth with most vehemence, it’s woefully fractured pieces were gathered and have now become the great Cauldron of Shards. T’was for this deed that Brandon was bestowed the title of “Glassbane '', and all the people gathered about him saying, “Nay, nay, not him! Nay, nay!” Then, in his ashamedness, he fled to the land of Huntsville, to the Alumnisphere where Carson doth dwell, and so is consumed into the hosts of the Gradle Daemons and haunts all that we devise. This happening, the Breakening, is known also as the Folly that is of Brandon.They say betwixt us that one day Brandon Glassbane will return from this doom with most excessive heat and reforge the Shards of Destiny anew and defy the forces of the Gradle Daemons and the Captain thereof, and thus shall take place the great Battle of the Iron Gates of Renaissance and the forces of the Gradle Daemons and the Captain thereof shall prevail, for none in the land of Athens can yet resist him and the 1/8th Inch Aluminum Angle of Destiny shall strike the great paine of tempered silica and break it in pieces once and for all into no more than mere shards henceforth and forever. Thus in the end will be only a choice of evils: The Unwisdom that is of Carson, or The Folly that is of Brandon. Therefore, Unwisdom will trump Folly in that day.

The Riveting of No Rivets: T’was in the late Carso-Alexian Epoch that Steven: The Passer-Down of Highest Judgementalitudity translated himself to the realm of Harbor Freight, and purchased with United States Dollars the Riveter of the Use of the Hands. On that day he bestowed it upon Carson, of whom many tales are told, and Steven commanded him saying, “Exert joules”. Carson heeded his voice and sought to rivet the robot that is named Vanilla Isosceles. His strength of mind was great, for Drew: The Lord of the Gradle Daemons, was with him, but his will was no more. Thus, when he endeavored to bind metal to metal, his strength failed him, and he riveted no rivets. Therefore, in these latter days, he is called ‘Riveter of No Rivets”

The Battle of the Iron Gates of Renaissance:

At a certain, unspecified point in the future, there shall take place the Battle of the Iron Gates of Renaissance. In that hour, Carson shall break forth from the Alumnisphere, having learned the secret arts of Gradledaemonbending and surpassing the power of Drew: The Lord of the Gradle Daemons. Carson shall then call forth the Gradle Daemons from the depths of WPILib, and Java, and the Roborios that be to the Realm Material. They shall travel by most speedy means across the wave to the Kremlin and with a great mustering of Gradle Daemons shall hew it’s walls and disarm their weapons of nuclear type. Then, all the Russian government shall fear greatly saying ‘нет’. In that very moment Carson will take up his seat on the throne of Russia and shall re-establish the USSR. But then, it shall be the UGDSR, the Union of Gradle Daemon Soviet Republics. In his full might, he shall proclaim aloud once more, “Shreemp” and he and his forces will translate themselves west across the wave, and so come before the Iron Gates of Renaissance, and commence the Day of the Reckoning of Carson, and Carson will think in his mind, “Well, I reckon this is my day a’ reckonin’”. There to defy him will stand Brandon: Glassbane. About the same time, he shall escape the Alumnisphere and come to the Halls of Renaissance to undo his doings and reforge the Pane that was Broken with most excessive and fervent movements of atoms from the Great Hoard Thereof. Thence was the Pane reforged and Brandon wielded it as his shield against the Hosts of Carson, and in his left hand he wielded the ⅛” x 3” aluminum angle and so battled against the Gradle Daemons. When Carson arrives at the Iron Gates, Brandon, Ian, and Tucker with their respective companies will stand in the Inner Court of Liminaliry, and Brandon shall approach the Gates and speak thus to Carson, “Whenceforth is it, old friend, that ye and thine hosts of Faithless Ones stand before my gates so armed for war?”Then the Mouth of Carson, his emissary, will speak contrarily saying, “Thus thinketh Carson: Why then does Brandon: Glassbane shut himself in behind the Gates like a robber in his hole? Will he and his hosts not oppose us? What say ye, Angle-Wielder?” Then, there was silence, for a time, but the Gradle Daemons began chanting in the Forbidden Tongue of the Robots and in Electronic Noise Signals, and the Hosts of Renaissance shut their ears at the sound of it. Brandon, after many long hours of waiting and enduring the noise, bade the hosts of Ian and Tucker stand for battle and the Iron Gates were opened to the Gradle Daemons and their Captain. As the gates opened, Brandon attempted to bargain with The Caffeinated One, asking him for what he came and what he wished to obtain. Then the Mouth of Carson shall answer him, “Thus thinketh Carson: I want not this Fortress nor the folk therein, but one thing only: the Great Cauldron of Shards. Grant me this only, and I will bid my company leave and return no more.” Brandon was deeply dismayed at this saying, for he knew the Lore. If he gave Carson the Great Cauldron of Shards, the team could no longer cast lots from it. If the team could no longer cast lots, then, if the Loremasters were made to shirk their sacred duties, there would be no way for new Loremasters to arise after them. Likewise, if no lots could be cast, then two gingers of the same year could not decide to whom should be given the ceremonial ginger root first, and so peace would not be in the land. For this was indeed the plan of the Cheemser of Shrimp: to capture the loremasters and break their line, for it was by the power of the Loremasters that the essence of the Gradle Daemons were decided, and they were tired of constantly having their very essence changed every few days and so sought the power that the Loremasters possessed so that their essence and being could be decided for themselves, and by Carson, their Captain, and so that they would not be remade again. Yea also he sought to remove the Cauldron such that they could send a ginger spy into the team to create a plurality of gingers on the team, yet there would mournfully be no cauldron to cast lots from, and thus peace would not be on the land, and chaos would ensue.

Realizing this, Brandon declined, hid behind the Pane that was Broken, and raised the Angle of Destiny in his left hand, intending to strike the Hosts of the Ghosts with great and terrible velocification. At that time, a Gradle Daemon snuck past the gate whilst the two were in conversation and hid behind the Glassbane, and as he raised the Angle of Destiny, the Gradle Daemon stole it, and tossed it to Carson, who, by the power of Drew: Lord of the Gradle Daemons, who lurked nearby, promptly threw it at the Pane, shattering it again henceforth and forevermore. Immediately, fear entered into the hearts of all the hosts of Brandon and of Ian and of Tucker. Ian: The Translator of Aluminum and German charged his company forth with the Persuader of Sucrose and Glucose. Tucker: He Who Worketh Under-Town followed close behind with all his company, wielding the Persuader of All Things. As they approached, Carson spake again saying, “This land is hereby a territory of the Union of Gradle Daemon Soviet Republics.” Then, knowing full well the lore, as Tucker and Ian founded it, they stopped, remembering the saying of Ian long ago: In Soviet Russia, you no use persuader, persuader use you. Immediately, the persuaders of Sucrose and Glucose and All Things began to use Ian and Tucker most violently, so they laid down their Persuasive implements, and the Company of Tucker fled south and hid beneath the broken tires of the Training Grounds of the Children of the Northernmost Realm to which we do not venture, but The Company of Ian Fled north, and so were ambushed by the Children of the Northernmost Realm. The Company of Ian was forced to flee south, along the western side of the embattlement, being chased with great speed by the Northern Children. Meanwhile, the Company of Brandon stayed and fought, wielding the Persuader of Drivers which, by logic, controlled not the drivers, but the drivers controlled it, and it ungradledaemonized many of the forces, causing them to promptly become mentors, volunteers, or take up other FIRST positions. But Carson broke through and, with great deception, caused the door to open, for he transferred kinetic energy onto it saying, “Shreemp”. And an unsuspecting Voidsperson opened it unto him, unknowing that this action may cause the doom of 538. Once he was inside, he found the Great Cauldron of Shards, and stole it , carrying it through the Southern Door. At that moment, he realized that it was empty, for Brandon Glassbane had forged the Pane anew, so he bade some of his Gradle Daemons to translate themselves back to the battlefield and collect the shards that they may fill the cauldron once again. As this was happening, the Company of Ian was fleeing to that same place from the Children of the Northernmost Realm and the Company of Tucker was still hiding in the broken tires adjacent to this happening. When Carson heard the sound of the Hosts of Ian speaking in fear saying, “This predicament we find ourselves in the midst of is most undesirable and unideal from our perspective.” Hearing and seeing this, Carson feared greatly, and attempted to run from the Northern Children, but they saw what he carried and immediately stopped chasing the Company of Ian and strove after Carson, and the Gradle Daemons retaliated and spoke the Forbidden Tongue to them, and many of them feared the Gradle Daemons greatly and fled, but in the chaos, Carson was captured, and taken to the old fortress in the Northernmost Realm, to which we do not venture along with the Cauldron of Shards. As the company of Ian fled, the company of Tucker heard it and emerged from the tires to join their company. Together, they skedaddled to the Keep of Tom: Persuader of Electrons through Conductive Materials, and there waited for many a long unit of time measurement until the Gradle Daemons lost hope in their search for Carson and returned to Moscow. In the meantime, 538 tarried in-barn for seven revolutions of the Earth until there were no more sightings of Gradle Daemons overhead. While there, they fashioned un-persuaders such that they may enter the Fortress of Renaissance once again, though in the domain of Carson, which was proclaimed to be part of the UGDSR. On that very day, exactly seven revolutions of the earth whence they fled, they returned, and found the fortress abandoned, but the Children of the Northernmost Realm could be heard from afar. So, with stealth, they passed through the Southern Door and once again entered into the great Atom Hoard. There, they discovered all things as they once were, but the Great Cauldron of Shards was taken. At this sight, there was great sorrow and grief among the people, and they said aloud, “Ungood '', for they knew the implications of the lore. However, the fact that the Cauldron lay in the Northernmost Realm was entirely unknown to them. Thenceforth, they worked as they had done all those years before, but with caution, lest the loremasters be captured and the Cauldron be used to their doom.

       The Blast of ‘23

This great event was foretold by the First Loremasters in the tenth month of the year 2023. For the Worker Under-Town spake unto the Translator of Aluminum and German saying, “Behold, we are to present unto the public masses Surëatringen which is called Hype-bot. Is it not likely, therefore, that we might translate the matter-in-barrel to a velocified state, such that one of these Voidsfolk might collide with the matter-now-previously-in-barrel unawares? The Tale of Places: Many of the events which transpire on this team take place at the Fortress of Renaissance. Second is the Lower Door-Upon-West, through which a great number of Voidsfolk (that is, those outside of 538) travel. Third are the Upper Doors-Upon-West, which remain closed. Yea, the powers by which they were shut were the powers of the Master of the Elder Ones, whose identity is not known by any in the Land of Athens. Therefore, by no powers other than by his may they be opened once again. Fourth is the Northern Door which lies on the threshold of the Northernmost Realm, which we do not dare to approach. Inside the Halls of Renaissance, once entered through the Doors of the Court of Liminality, ye shall find the inner chambers and the Great Hoard of Atoms and Electrons to the south wherein lies Surëatringen: The HypeBot. This is the Eastern Realm, the domain of Taylor: Steelcase-Friend. At the western threshold of the Eastern Realm is the Great Conjunction which is neither for, and, nor, but, or, yet, or so, but is the central point of neutrality between the realms. To the south, it leads to the Southern Door, which Canon: In the Third Tense called “Door”. To the north, it leads to the Northern Realm. In the Northern Realm is the Voluminous Structure, wherein Surëatringen first velocified sucrose and glucose. This is the place wherein many phonons were emitted from vibrating structures of brass and wood. Beyond, to the north, is the Northern Door, beyond which we do not venture. When thou venturest forth to the west of the Great Conjunction, you approach the Slightly-More-Winding Stair, which leads down to the Dungeon, wherein many of the Voidless Ones learn of many things other than the wisdom of the Elder Ones or the Unwisdom that is of Carson. The End of Thimgs Far into time to come, after Carson has for a time been held hostage in the Northernmost Realm, he will break free with great cunning and enter into the Great Atom Hoard once more to search for The Lot. When he finds it, and all the shards are gathered once more, he will be able to bend the lore to his will and revise it as he deems good, and so will end 538 and the reign of the Gradle Daemons and the UGDSR fall upon the land.

Is there a difference in wireless range when using ESP-NOW vs WiFi? I'm currently using a XIAO ESP32C6 and neither format seems to get my info back where I want it about 30 yards away.

My issue with this wonderful little piece of technology from Madcatz is that the joystick only engages in the direction you push when you've maxed it out. I'm trying to reduce the midrange window of the pots (if that's even a thing) so that I can make minor adjustments. As it sits now, I'm throwing this joystick around like a cromagnon trying to tug a root out of the ground.

As far as resistance goes, on my up/down axis neutral is 8.00k ohms, full forward on the stick gives me 7.69k ohms, back is 7.80k ohms. Voltage-wise while getting power from N64 up/down pot gets 1.5 v neutral, 1.17 full forward on the stick, 1.73 full back. Receiving 3.0V input overall for both potentiometers.

Left/Right pot reads 8.92k ohms at neutral, 8.73 full right, 8.95 full left. (I think the wipers are dirty) L/R pot is easier to remove so I can get better/easier readings.I manually adjusted the pot while in mario kart 64s menu, 1.79V moves right 2.19V moves left, we can reasonably assume 2.0V is neutral. Reassembled full input at the stick left gives 2.30V, full right 1.69V, 2.03V neutral but I may have slightly bumped it reinstalling. This potentiometer says B50k, not sure on the other.

I'm terribly sorry if this is terrible formatting but I'm typing all of this out as some Ayn Rand stream of consciousness repair methodology. I'm trying to get any potential info needed. If any more info is needed I can take more measurements with my little Kobalt digital multimeter, or take pictures of the piece we're trying to increase stick sensitivity on. I'm well versed with soldering but kind of a dummy in electronics which is weird but I'm trying to learn.

I recently bought a Honda EU2200i and wanted to test it with my portable AC, which is the main appliance I'll use it with. This was the first time I was running the Honda. Added oil, added gas, ran it, connected to app via Bluetooth, let it run for a few minutes, and then connected the portable AC. After a few minutes, the AC was off, the app reported overload. I turned off the generator, ran it again, and then connected the portable AC, checking the app all the time.

During the first few minutes with the AC running stable, the app reported 70~80 VAs. Then, all of a sudden, it spiked to 2000 and then the power was cut off. The AC was the only thing running.

I then connected my fridge to it and it ran well for hours, only the fridge connected. Tried the AC again, alone, and the same thing happened. This AC always ran well on my Westinghouse 5500. Is the Honda not powerful enough? What else could be the problem here? Power cord maybe? Again, used the same power cord as with the Westinghouse.

Hey! I have been looking for a way to make a light show that matches with some music. I have been doing research on Wled and I don’t know if it’s the correct option. It would be amazing if someone knows if my idea is possible.

I want to make a show with 5 led strips. When I press a button on the app(or on my pc) the strips do a light show for a couple of minutes. I would try to connect some music to it to make it a cool experience. Is it possible to program a whole show? From what I see online you can do some cool effects with the strips but can you really program them to do a effect, wait a bit, do another effect, turn off and a whole lot more cool stuff. If this is possible, how long could you make a show?
