I work in a large (ish) clinic. This last Friday, a patient in a MAGA hat was trying to bait me in a political debate. I have a discreet pride flag on my name tag and am sporting black fingernails.
He kept asking about the nails then asked who I was voting for in the presidential election. I kept trying to deflect and continue with the examination questions while he was trying to pin me down.
I sent him for xray and the poor xray tech must have bit. When she brought him back, she was wide eyed and looked worn. She had 2 lesbian daughters. Whispered to her, “that’s why I don’t discuss my beliefs at work.” 🤣

Had my first boomer experience yesterday! I work in the beauty industry in a maga red large state. Had mom/daughter clients and the mom was from large blue state so I told her she's lucky to live somewhere so pretty.She then went on a rant about blue state has gone to shit and their governor is solely responsible for all of it. She then goes into the theory that if Biden dies, either before or after the election or inauguration, they will do a blood/DNA test on Gavin Newson, find out that they're somehow related and Newsom will then go straight to being president because everything in this county is "rigged or crooked" I was truly speechless. Anyway, was just interested if anyone else has heard this crock of bullshit?

The area where I live has just gone through dangerously high temperatures for the last couple of days, and yet I've had three separate boomers talk to me about how they had to go out and mow the lawn in this heat. Why? It's just grass! The world won't end because it grew an extra inch during a heatwave. My 82 year old father did yard work and then went to the hospital for heat exhaustion symptoms. When I ask him why he was outside in this heat, he says somebody needed to take care of Mom's flowerbeds. I want to hit my head against the wall. Why can't boomers understand that yardwork and grass cutting are not so fucking vital?
