Antony Starr is offended when people treat him like he’s Homelander in real life. “People are surprised, like, ‘Oh, my God, you’re actually not like him.’ And I’m like, ‘Yeah, he’s a psychopathic narcissist. So yeah, thanks.’”

In Monty Python and the Holy Grail (1975), if you pause the film at the right point and look closely, you can see that the producers couldn't afford real horses and therefore had to resort to special effects.

Tom Hanks should make a sequel to Big where he gets to be a kid again.

The movie Big is like two hours of child wish fulfillment, wherein a child gets magically turned into an adult and psychologically tortures his mother by making her think he was kidnapped. (That’s not the point of this post, but I just remembered that part, and holy shit. That’s dark.) As a kid I loved Big. As an adult, I find myself occasionally — not often — having those cliched desires to go back and do it all again, knowing now what I didn’t know then. I think the premise is ripe for a legacy sequel; household name, beloved property, nostalgia bait, etc. I don’t even know if this sub is the place to discuss a theoretical movie, but I really need this to get some traction so Tom Hanks can get going on it.

What’s the oldest ‘modern looking’ movie you can think of?

I was getting hyped for Twisters and was looking to order a 4k bluray copy of Twister. I watched it a couple of years ago again and remember how epic it looked. Was stunned today to see it came out in 1996.

I’m a big fan of Star Wars and think they look really cool, but when I see it it definitely does have an ‘older’ feel.

Wondering what the oldest movies you can think of that might trick a viewer into thinking it’s modern?
