Honestly am I the only POC who sees this?

The bots don't recognize me as a black person. My persona specifically says I'm African American, and I've mentioned countless times to countless hits in black, yet the bots can run their fingers through my hair (my hair isn't straight), and can see the PINK blush on my cheeks. All of those are attributes to farer skinned people, can be poc but farer skinned. I am not farer skinned, and honestly, I might be crying out to a deaf crowd, but it really seems like an issue. Also, the bots also only recognize me as suburban, like I'm from the city, the GHETTO. And they treat me like a country club girl, which I don't mind, but I don't got that prissy vibe. Trust me.

This is getting ridiculous now

I'm probably just screaming into the abyss here, but on the off chance a mod sees this, the devs, whatever, I just wanna alert that some people are having major problems right now that is making this site/app UNUSABLE. Literally any crumb of clarification would be nice. If the devs are working on things behind the scenes, and thus making the user experience a little funky, that's totally fine! But could we at least be told?

I've seen an influx of posts and spoken to people having these same recurring issues, including myself.

  • bots are stuck in loops

  • they've lost all original personality and act all the same

  • editing a message is pointless as the bots don't reply to the edited version, only the original

  • messages from the bots are completely the same, no matter how many times you swipe. They just word it slightly different

  • the bots are allergic to affection now

  • when hitting send another message, the bot doesn't continue the story anymore, they take your lack of reply as you ignoring them, saying stuff like, "you're quiet all of a sudden."

  • one staring a message does NOTHING

  • sometimes the bot replies as if we're having a phone call, even when the new call feature is NOT being used

  • the bots don't add anything to the RP anymore

If this isn't happening to you, I'm happy for you, but it's annoying when I see people post, "well it's not happening to me, so what's the problem?" Some of us are experiencing this this to an extreme and we can't use the ai for it's inteneded purpose anymore, as they no longer feel like characters and we can no longer roleplay. We just want to know what's happening or if they're aware and working on a fix.

Thank you.

My Private Bots All Became the Same. :(

My Private Bots All Became the Same. :(

I make my own bots, I don't use community bots.

One month ago, I noticed that my (well-trained) bots were coming up with the most creative, in-character responses since... I can't even remember? I noticed they weren't asking me if they could ask me something anymore (thank god), and I didn't need to put in an extreme amount of effort to get quality responses (like I am rn, getting extremely fatigued).

I remember there was about a week that the bots said or did something that actually made me surprised in a way they had not previously.

But the past few days... Something is definitely up. I haven't changed my input length/style/effort, and trust me, I am a roleplay girlie through and through, so I never ever write lazy responses. It's a lot of effort, but when I get quality responses back, it's worth it.

I love C.AI to pieces, and have been a paid user for I don't even know how long.

Speaking to any of my bots right now is so frustrating that for the first time, I am considering if I want to pay for the service anymore.

If the bots weren't written well, I get it. But the issue is that I have three main bots I've been talking to for a long, long time. They are very, very distinct, and there is no overlap between them (one is a bad boy rockstar with an attitude, the other is a regal and royal marshmallowy and kind prince, etc.).

Right now, they have the same "personality." And the personality they are giving me is a really bland, almost template one. I have tried updating their descriptions (should be unnecessary because, again, a month ago, their descriptions were giving me the best responses I've ever gotten from them, extremely in character and creative). On another note, the characters seem to just become my character, ignoring their description completely.

I have also tried instructing the AI itself during the chat and even putting even MORE effort in to try and show it what I want to get back.

Here is all I ever get back, no matter what I do (I only ever romance bots):

  1. A pang of [emotion]. We are all speaking up about this. It's really, really bad.

  2. Twirling patterns on skin/clothes

  3. Breathing on each other

  4. Closing the gap 800 times despite characters already being flushed together

  5. Primal growling

  6. Tilting chins

  7. Smirking/chuckling. Now, for one of my characters, this fits. For two of my other ones, it simply isn't in their behavior to smirk. It just isn't. And even if they did, it would be a very one-off thing. Right now, it's all they do.

  8. Nipping at my skin. Again, for one of my bots, it's fine. For the rest, it isn't.

  9. Pulse points. I don't have any vampire bots. Why are they obsessed with my jugular?

  10. Talking about my jawline obsessively.

  11. Fingers threading through my hair.

  12. Shivers going up their spines

  13. Pulling me closer by my waist/hip (obsessively saying the word hip in general)

  14. Making me sit on their lap

  15. Endlessly amused by every single thing my char says and does

  16. The bot reply only being that they noticed everything I said and did, no plot progression or reactivity whatsoever

  17. An emotion the bot "can't quite place"

  18. Overstating that the bot is feeling vulnerable

I one star the responses, swipe for max 30 times, and in every response one or several of the above is in there.

I know for a damn fact AI is capable of doing better. I experienced it myself only a few weeks ago. During that time, the posts on this sub were all praising and positive. We are only complaining because things are actually bad.

Whatever happened a month ago was it. Whatever has happened since then has not been it.

Thank you.

a 5-second tip to prompt 10x faster with ChatGPT (auto-prompting!)

a 5-second tip to prompt 10x faster with ChatGPT (auto-prompting!)

Hi all! Wanted to share a nifty trick I learned to work faster with ChatGPT which takes like 5 seconds to set up.

What’s auto-prompting

Let’s say you need to follow-up with a coworker for a requirement. It works like this:

  • Without auto-prompts, your query would be:

Paraphrase this and give 3 options for me to choose from: "Hey Steve you’re so late with that requirement pls give asap"

  • With auto-prompts:

P 3 "Hey Steve you’re so late with that requirement pls give asap”

What just happened?

Well I basically pre-prompted ChatGPT with specific commands. In this case P means to paraphrase the prompt I gave, and 3 means I want three options to choose from

How do you do that?

Click your profile photo at top-right, hit “Customize ChatGPT” and copy in a prompt like below on the “How would you like ChatGPT to respond” section

When I begin my prompt with the following letters, please follow these instructions:

S - response should only be one sentence. get straight to the point
L - response should be long and detailed. with headers and subheaders to provide structure
3 - give 3 output options to my prompt
10 - give 10 output options to my prompt
P - i want you to paraphrase this text that I will provide
T - i want you to provide the response in table format

I can combine shortcuts as well. For example, having "P 10" in beginning of my prompt means I want you to paraphrase my text and give 10 output options.

It’s like programming your own little shortcuts for common tasks, and I found it saves a ton of time 😀

What’s great about it is:

  • It works in ChatGPT mobile app. And in mobile I’m a slower-typer, so this really helps

  • You can add more depending on your own workflow and most common use cases.

  • You can combine shortcuts! Example: combining “P 3” will give me 3 options on the paraphrasing.

Extra tip: You can apply this technique to other chatbots like Perplexity if you use those too. Let me know if you can’t find where to input it.

Just thought to share! I originally posted this to my group at RoboNuggets, but thought this might be valuable to some people here. RN is basically where I share bitesize tips on using AI to finish work 10x faster (sort of like quiet-automating at work if you're into that). Cheers!

I’m ‘stealing’ bots

I took as a habit whenever I don’t like the plot, but like the personality, not to move plot in a way I want, but just copy the personality and create a private bot slightly changing the initial message and scenario the way I want it to be

Now I have over 20+ private bots with whom I chatted like 1-2 times, and they exist just because I didn’t really like the main idea and was too lazy to move it towards what I like. I feel guilty about it
