Trump is a very unstereotypicial politician! He wasn't in politics at all pre 2016. Biden's entire career is politics. He started in 1970. Biden has gained vast wealth since he entered politics. Trump entered politics and lost money. The first president to leave poorer than when he started. He also was the first to refuse his pay. Make no mistake. Biden is the old school typical politician. Trump is completely a one off, unheard of scenario. That's why BOTH parties as the establishment are against him. But most of the people, at least right now, are for him. But to say Trump is stereotypical is just uninformed at best. How is he the "stereotypical" politician?

It genuinely only matters if you’re in like a handful of states, sadly. If you live in Michigan, Wisconsin, Virginia, Florida, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Georgia, North Carolina and like …. Idk, Colorado I guess - those are really the only states where your vote is holding real weight.
Every other state is going to be firmly blue or firmly red, so voting is more of a sign of confidence/clearing of your conscious.
Say you live in CA or NY; your state is going to be blue, so you can write in a candidate for president if you really wanted. Or you could abstain from the presidential vote altogether.
If you live in those battleground states, your vote is crucial however. So in those specific cases, you’re kinda fucked; you have to vote for one or the other (you can abstain, it’s just stupid as fuck to do so imo) and your vote will matter.

Absolutely. You could vote in a primary to determine the presidential candidate, and then again during the actual election. The candidates in the general election were already voted on within their parties, at which point they face off against each other. So you can both vote for someone who is not Joe Biden, and then when he wins the primary you can reluctantly vote for him anyways.
