I'm thinking of Moving to Algiers! and I was wondering of what's possibly the best salary to live comfortably in there (a family of four). According to you, how much are the expenses of rent (a decent appartement), education, transportation, entertainment ... etc

Tragic incident at "sablettes", algiers

https://www.algerie360.com/drame-aux-sablettes-a-alger-deces-de-5-enfants-par-noyade/

If you haven't heard, yesterday (5/12/2024) a trip organized by a school in Médéa ended in tragedy as 5 of the children on the trip sadly passed away after drowning in "Sablettes" in the capital.

I'm wondering about how this could have been prevented? and if this is a sign that more security measures should be implemented to our touristic facilities? It's even more depressing knowing that this completely avoidable tragedy happened in the main beach of the capital, and not some random private beach

Women of Algiers : how do you dress in public ?

As a European Algerian that is discovering Algiers, I was just curious..personnally, I only wear abayas and a long cardigan on top. However, it's getting warmer and I find it sad that I have to keep wearing several layers of clothing (according to my mother). It'd be nice to have several points of view 😊.

Algiers ferry Vespa scooter

I saw there is a post from 6 years ago in this topic. Checking to see if it holds today.

Can you take a Vespa/scooter on the ferry?

Considering moving to Algiers and this would be my preferred way to commute to work.

UPDATE: Y’all are awesome! Thank you so much
